    No full text
Numerous applications are deployed on the web with the increasing popularity of internet. The applications include, 1) Banking applications, 2) Gaming applications, 3) E-commerce web applications. Different applications reply on OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) systems. OLTP systems need to be scalable and require fast response. Today modern web applications generate huge amount of the data which one particular machine and Relational databases cannot handle. The E-Commerce applications are facing the challenge of improving the scalability of the system. Data partitioning technique is used to improve the scalability of the system. The data is distributed among the different machines which results in increasing number of transactions. The work-load aware incremental repartitioning approach is used to balance the load among the partitions and to reduce the number of transactions that are distributed in nature. Hyper Graph Representation technique is used to represent the entire transactional workload in graph form. In this technique, frequently used items are collected and Grouped by using Fuzzy C-means Clustering Algorithm. Tuple Classification and Migration Algorithm is used for mapping clusters to partitions and after that tuples are migrated efficiently

    No full text
Electricity transmission and distribution in most of the countries are needed to be improved by the construction of new networks. These improvements are not that much cost effective and if cost is tried to be reduced then the quality and efficiency of the system is compromised which is not suitable at all for the current system. In addition obtaining planning permission and carrying out construction is so much difficult in busy cities. The main objective of this research is to monitor and control frequency deviation. A simple MATLAB controlling and monitoring system is being developed and the ARDUINO DAQ card is used to calculate the frequency deviation. The purpose of respective research is basically based on a dummy load which is used to show the usage of particular equipment’s used in a home such as fridge, freezer ,oven , lighting system, and domestic wet appliances such as washer dryer  which are attached these to a DAQ and then to a controlling and monitoring GUI MATLAB based. However, this research is focused on the monitoring and controlling of the frequency deviation

A Novel Approach for Efficient Training of Deep Neural Networks

    No full text
Deep Neural Network training algorithms consumes long training time, especially when the number of hidden layers and nodes is large. Matrix multiplication is the key operation carried out at every node of each layer for several hundreds of thousands of times during the training of Deep Neural Network. Blocking is a well-proven optimization technique to improve the performance of matrix multiplication. Blocked Matrix multiplication algorithms can easily be parallelized to accelerate the performance further. This paper proposes a novel approach of implementing Parallel Blocked Matrix multiplication algorithms to reduce the long training time. The proposed approach was implemented using a parallel programming model OpenMP with collapse() clause for the multiplication of input and weight matrices of Backpropagation and Boltzmann Machine Algorithms for training Deep Neural Network and tested on multi-core processor system. Experimental results showed that the proposed approach achieved approximately two times speedup than classic algorithms

Telecommunication industry requires high capacity networks with high data rates which are achieved through utilization of Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) communication along with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system. Still, the communication channel suffers from noise, interference or distortion due to hardware design limitations, and channel environment, and to combat these challenges, and achieve enhanced performance; various error control techniques are implemented to enable the receiver to detect any possible received errors and correct it and thus; for a certain transmitted signal power the system would have lower Bit Error Rate (BER).The provided research focuses on Redundant Residue Number System (RRNS) coding as a Forward Error Correction (FEC) scheme that improves the performance of MIMO-OFDM based wireless communications in comparison with current methods as Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) coders at the transmitter side or equalizers at receiver side. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance over the system was measured using MATLAB tool for different simulated channel conditions, including the effect of signal amplitude reduction and multipath delay spreading. Simulation results had shown that RRNS coding scheme provides an enhancement in system performance over conventional error detection and correction coding schemes by utilizing the distinct features of Residue Number System (RNS)

New Blind Muti-signature Schemes based on ECDLP

    No full text
In various types of electronic transactions, including election systems and digital cash schemes, user anonymity and authentication are always required. Blind signatures are considered the most important solutions to meeting these requirements. Many studies have focused on blind signature schemes; however, most of the studied schemes are single blind signature schemes. Although blind multi-signature schemes are available, few studies have focused on these schemes. In this article, blind multi-signature schemes are proposed based on the Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Problem (ECDLP). The proposed schemes are based on the GOST R34.10-2012 digital signature standard and the EC-Schnorr digital signature scheme, and they satisfy blind multi-signature security requirements and have better computational performance than previously proposed schemes. The proposed schemes can be applied in election systems and digital cash schemes

Reliability Constrained Unit Commitment Considering the Effect of DG and DR Program

    No full text
Due to increase in energy prices at peak periods and increase in fuel cost, involving Distributed Generation (DG) and consumption management by Demand Response (DR) will be unavoidable options for optimal system operations. Also, with high penetration of DGs and DR programs into power system operation, the reliability criterion is taken into account as one of the most important concerns of system operators in management of power system. In this paper, a Reliability Constrained Unit Commitment (RCUC) at presence of time-based DR program and DGs integrated with conventional units is proposed and executed to reach a reliable and economic operation. Designated cost function has been minimized considering reliability constraint in prevailing UC formulation. The UC scheduling is accomplished in short-term so that the reliability is maintained in acceptable level. Because of complex nature of RCUC problem and full AC load flow constraints, the hybrid algorithm included Simulated Annealing (SA) and Binary Particle Swarm Optimization (BPSO) has been proposed to optimize the problem. Numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and considerable efficacy of the time-based DR program in reducing operational costs by implementing it on IEEE-RTS79

    No full text
This paper proposes an optimal generation scheduling method for a power system integrated with renewable energy sources (RES) based distributed generations (DG) and energy storage systems (ESS) considering maximum harvesting of RES outputs and minimum power system operating losses. The main contribution aims at economically employing RES in a power system. In particular, maximum harvesting of renewable energy is achieved by the mean of ESS management. In addition, minimum power system operating losses can be obtained by properly scheduling operating of ESS and controllable generations. Particle Swam Optimization (PSO) algorithm is applied to search for a near global optimal solutions. The optimization problem is formulated and evaluated taking into account power system operating constraints. The different operation scenarios have been used to investigate the effective of the proposed method via DIgSILENT PowerFactory software. The proposed method is examined with IEEE standard 14-bus and 30-bus test systems

This paper displays a new design of a small antenna proposed for radio-frequency identification (RFID) applications in the UHF band (ultra-high frequency). Our antenna is constituted of two rectangular patches linked together with a meander line. Using this technique reduction in antenna size of equal to 62% with respect to the conventional antenna was achieved. The antenna has a simple structure and small antenna size of 60 x 74mm2 or 0.184 λ0 x 0.226 λ0. It has been fabricated on a low-cost FR4 substrate and measured to validate the simulation performances. The measured bandwidth is around 54.4 MHz (889.3 - 943.7 MHz) with reflection coefficient less than 10 dB, which covers all of the American RFID band (902 - 928 MHz), Chinese RFID band (920.5 - 924.5 MHz), Korea Republic and Japan RFID band ( 917 - 923.5 MHz). The design and simulations have been effected by electromagnetic simulators HFSS and CST microwave studio. A good accord is getting between the simulated and measured results. This antenna is intended for the reader of RFID applications.
