The clinical learning environment, supervision and nurse teacher scale: Psychometric testing of the catalan version
Background and Purpose: The clinical learning environment is the space in which nursing students develop their professional skills. The Clinical Learning Environment, Supervision and Nurse Teacher (CLES+T) scale makes it possible to assess its quality. This study aimed to develop the psychometric testing of the newly translated Catalan version of the CLES+T. Methods: The translation process was carried out according to the principles of good practice of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research Working Group. The students completed the Catalan version of the CLES+T, and 15 days later, they took part in the temporal stability test. Results: The internal consistency was .934, and the interclass correlation coefficient of the re-test was .865. The exploratory factor analysis showed five dimensions. Conclusion: The Catalan version of the CLES+T scale is a valid and reliable tool to assess the quality of clinical learning environments in Catalonia

A cross-sectional pilot study to define anal cancer risk factors in HIV-positive solid organ transplant recipients.
Background
HIV-positive organ transplant recipients are at high risk of anal cancer, but there are no data on the prevalence of high-risk human papillomavirus (hr-HPV) or anal dysplasia, in this population.
Objective
To assess the prevalence of anal hr-HPV, and anal cytological and histological abnormalities in this population.
Design and setting
Prospective single tertiary hospital.
Results
Twenty-five (53%) transplant recipients were recruited from 47 eligible individuals. Median (IQR) age was 56 years (52.5–60), 17 were male, 9 (36%) were men who have sex with men and 8 (32%) were active smokers. Twelve (48%) patients had abnormal anal cytology and 12 (48%) had detectable hr-HPV DNA. Six (50%) individuals with abnormal cytology had high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) on biopsy. Abnormal anal cytology was significantly associated with current hr-HPV infection [crude prevalence rate ratio, cRR = 2.3, 95% CI (1.43–3.7); p = 0.001] and any previous history of HPV associated disease [cRR = 2.49, 95% CI (1.09–5.67); p = 0.030]. Anal HSIL on biopsy was associated with presence of condyloma [cRR = 3.00, 95% CI (1.31–6.88); p = 0.001] and any previous history of any HPV associated disease [cRR = 6.67, 95% CI (0.96–46.32); p = 0.055]. Anal hr-HPV infection was associated with any previous HPV disease (Crude risk ratios [cRR = 2.89, 95% CI (1.21–6.88); p = 0.017]) and presence of condyloma (Crude risk ratios [cRR = 2.00, 95% CI (1.28–3.13); p = 0.002]). No cases of invasive anal cancer were detected among study participants.
Conclusions
This highly medicalized population of HIV-positive organ transplant recipients have a high prevalence of HPV-associated anal dysplasia and screening to prevent anal cancer may need to be prioritised

Characterization of high-intensity storms in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (2014–2022)
Urban coastal areas along the Mediterranean are exposed to short-duration convective rainfall, producing infrastructure disruptions and flood-related impacts. This study analyzes 45 rainfall episodes in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona between 2014 and 2022, combining radar products, rain gauge observations, and urban-scale impact datasets. Storm radar tracking enabled the identification of key spatiotemporal features and assessment of short-term forecasting performance. Convective cells were typically short-lived, lasting less than 30 min in most cases. The main goal of the research has been the comparison between VIL density (DVIL) radar field and short-duration rainfall intensity provided by rain gauges. This is the first study comparing both data types, being a pioneer in this field. We have found a linear relationship between both data types, with weaker values for larger values. More persistent cells had higher DVIL values, observing a difference in behavior with a break point at 2 g/m3. The tracking and nowcasting system were evaluated based on its ability to anticipate convective precipitation. It achieved good scores values (POD of 0.73 and FAR of 0.33), considering the difficulties of tracking this type of convective system. Finally, false alarms associated with elevated DVIL values suggested the difficulty of capturing storm severity by surface-based precipitation measurements.measurements
Dialogue and Dominance in Couple Therapy for Depression: Exploring Therapists’ Responses in Creating Collaborative Moments
Previous investigations have found specific communication patterns in couples dealing with depression, specifically when depression concurs with conjugal conflicts. The presence of these patterns can reflect couples’ difficulties in engaging in collaborative communication during their sessions, posing a real challenge for therapists. This exploratory study uses a dialogical approach to examine issues of dominance and type of dialogue in two couples who differed in terms of their levels of dyadic adjustment. The therapists’ reactions were explored in order to detect the kinds of responses that were most effective at engendering a collaborative attitude in therapy sessions. The method used to analyze the dialogue was Dialogical Investigations of Happenings of Change (DIHC). Results on dominance indicated that the degree of quantitative and semantic dominance displayed by a different member of the couple in each case was illustrative of their relational dynamics, while in both cases interactional dominance was exercised by the therapists. Results on dialogue revealed that dialogic dialogue might help to coconstruct new shared meanings of depression. The findings indicated that certain responses by therapists as part of the dialogue could be useful in bringing about a reduction in hostility between the members of a couple, provided that the responses are maintained over the course of the session. Some research and clinical implications that emerge from the results are discussed
Instructional process for the construction of the derivative function: Modelling and simulation in GeoGebra from the ontosemiotic approach
The conceptual and procedural understanding of the derivative remains a persistent challenge in undergraduate engineering education, particularly in bridging symbolic, graphical, and applied interpretations. Despite advances in digital tools, few instructional designs systematically integrate interactive exploration with formal mathematical reasoning. This study addresses this gap by proposing an instructional framework that combines functional modeling with GeoGebra-based simulations, grounded in the Ontosemiotic Approach to Mathematical Knowledge and Instruction (OSA), specifically targeting first-year engineering students in Chile. A mixed exploratory–descriptive design was implemented, combining quantitative and qualitative analyses. A three-session intervention involved 102 students who engaged in tasks assessing derivative understanding across multiple representations, including graphical slopes, symbolic differentiation, and applied rate-of-change problems. Data were collected via performance questionnaires and written productions, with validity ensured through expert review and reliability confirmed via pilot testing. Students exhibited strong proficiency in graphical interpretation and procedural manipulation of derivatives, with success rates exceeding 85%. Conversely, tasks requiring formal argumentation, rigorous use of limit definitions, and theoretical justification showed reduced performance at 68%, highlighting the challenge of connecting exploratory simulations with formal mathematical reasoning. The findings demonstrate that integrating functional dependency analysis, interactive simulations, and OSA principles can strengthen comprehension of derivatives, particularly in geometric interpretations and formal rate-of-change reasoning. This research provides a replicable instructional design that enhances both conceptual insight and procedural competence, offering evidence-based strategies for technology-enhanced mathematics instruction in engineering curricula and contributing to broader curriculum development
The RISC-V FPGA (RVfpga) Teaching Package
RISC-V is a free and open-standard ISA based on RISC principles, allowing anyone to design, manufacture, and sell RISC-V chips and software. Its flexibility and growing ecosystem have made it popular in research, education, and industry, increasing the need for educational materials. This paper provides an in-depth description of the RVfpga course, which offers a solid introduction to computer architecture using the RISC-V instruction set and FPGA technology. It focuses on providing hands-on experience with real-world RISC-V cores, the VeeR EH1 and EL2 cores, developed by Western Digital and hosted by ChipsAlliance. The course targets students and educators in computing-related fields, enabling them to integrate practical RISC-V knowledge into their curricula. The course materials, which include detailed labs, setup guides, and the full SoC source code in System Verilog, are available for free. Students learn to compile, debug, and run C and assembly programs, to interact with built-in peripherals, to extend the SoC, and to explore microarchitectural features
Micronutrients are drivers of abundance, richness, and composition of soil insect communities in tropical rainforests
Communities of soil insects in tropical rainforests are among the richest and most complex, but the mechanisms structuring them remain mostly unknown. Identifying whether nutrient availability plays a relevant role in the assembly of these communities poses several challenges due to the diverse nutritional requirements of insects. We investigated the importance of nutrient availability accounting for the abundance, richness, and composition of soil insect communities in tropical rainforests. We sampled soil insects in 72 1-m2 sampling points at two sites in French Guiana, counted all specimens, and characterized each assemblage using DNA metabarcoding. We then determined the importance of nutrient availability by measuring 19 nutrient concentrations and collected 18,000 specimens from 2634 operational taxonomic units (OTUs). Despite an extraordinary diversity and spatial heterogeneity, the concentrations of sodium, potassium, and magnesium positively correlated with either the abundance or the richness of the communities. These micronutrients were also important predictors of the composition of the assemblages. However, we found different relationships when analyzing the data separately for Blattodea, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera, and Orthoptera, the most abundant insect orders with the most OTUs. Our results demonstrated that the availability of micronutrients played a large role in species selection during the assembly of the soil insect communities in these tropical rainforests, in contrast to the null impact of macronutrients. By accounting for the response at lower taxonomic levels, we argue that part of the unexplained variance might arise from contrastingly different responses to micronutrient availability among the most diverse orders. The high unexplained variance, however, also suggests that processes such as stochastic population drift and biotic interactions likely play complementary roles in structuring insect communities in the soils of tropical rainforest
El pujolismo entre gestión y cultura política. Unas notas interpretativas (1980-2003)
[eng] This article offers some necessarily synthetic interpretative notes of the political experience commonly defined as pujolism. In other words, it examines the political culture that achieved electoral hegem- ony in Catalonia between 1980 and 2003 and governed Catalan insti- tutions during this long period of time. In order to cover such a com-
plex and broad subject, the study addresses two dynamics considered particularly significant: the management and implementation of some of the policies of the Generalitat between 1980 and 2003 and the par- allel evolution of the political culture associated with them
