Get PDFtext令和6年度は、我が国の衆議院総選挙をはじめ、7月にはイギリスの下院選挙、11月にアメリカ大統領選挙と各国で大きな選挙が実施された。その選挙の結果としてイギリス・アメリカでは政権交代が実現し、日本でも衆議院の各党のもつ議席が大きく変化した。しかしながら、衆議院選挙をはじめとした日本国内の選挙は投票率が依然として低い状況が続いている。有権者が投票行動を起こす動機としては、自分が何らかの形で政治過程に影署を与えられるという「政治的有効性感覚(politicalefficacy)」を、有権者がもっているかが重要である。選挙への投票を通じての合意形成や社会参画、政治参加について考える。departmental bulletin pape

Production of Sex Reversed YY Females in the Medaka, Oryzias Iatipes
Get PDFtextIn Oryzias latipes with a XX/XY system of sex determination, sex-reversed orange-red females (XrYR) were prepared by treating fertilized eggs (morula) with estrogen and were mated with normal males (XrYR). The offspring (fertilized eggs) of these matings were treated with 17α-ethynylestradiol for 24 hr (26℃) and subsequently reared on a standard diet up to adult females. The genotype (XrYR or YRYR) of these sex-reversed orange-red females was ascertained by a test-crossing them with white males (XrXr). Sex reversed females produced a batch of only males that were identified to be the YRYR genotype. The eggs spawned by the YRYR females varied widely in size and displayed a wrinkled chorion. The number of attachment filaments on the eggs varied little, but the number of the much shorter non-attachment filaments varied about two-fold. The sex reversed females with genotype YRYR developed female sex organs and retained the capacity for reproduction despite lacking the X chromosome. Thus, we could succeeed in obtaining complete and functional females and males of the YRYR genotype and sustained them by appropriate mating and treating fertilized eggs with estrogen.departmental bulletin pape
