Approaches to the Nature and Epistemological Foundations of Religious Education in Colombian Schools
No full textShaping the identity of religious education — from a school rather than a church context — is a challenge for all countries that have included the teaching of religion in school curricula as a strategy to promote the religious affiliation of new generations. These countries have done so due to their historical links to different religious traditions. In fact, the revision of the role of each one of the components of the curricular matrix for the education of children and adolescents entailed a new discussion concerning the continued teaching of religion and its organization. The inter-institutional and interdisciplinary work carried out by researchers from the Universidad Santo Tomás in Bogotá and the Fundación Universitaria Católica Lumen Gentium in Cali made it possible to establish the epistemological foundations and contribute to the study of the nature of Religious Education in Colombian schools. These researchers studied the history and the sciences such as anthropology, sociology, psychology, and philosophy, which serve as pedagogical grounds for school disciplines.

No full textLa crítica de cine también es un síntoma. Digo también para usar como detonante el epígrafe de Foucault que sin duda será lo mejor de la página. Digo también porque debe ser lucha, insistencia, lugar de conflicto e, igualmente, el síntoma inequívoco de la intromisión de nuevos condicionamientos a la manera de ver. Las actuales particularidades de la difusión, dictadas por la aparición de los medios masivos, exigen la mirada conflictiva del mensaje mediático y es en este marco en el que se inserta la crítica. Estas condiciones, modificadoras absolutas del mensaje mediático masificado, provienen del creciente influjo que tiene la circulación informativa moderna en la sociedad: acelerado avance tecnológico, mediatización de la cultura, producción de bienes de consumo simbólico y organización del conocimiento por medio de pantallas. A estas alturas y después de ciertos ejemplos que daré más adelante, pensar el proceso de construcción de identidad sin contar con el condicionamiento mediático es francamente absurdo.

Una mirada a la historia nacional le da cierto crédito a la imagen de un país de leyes, desde la figura de Camilo Torres Tenorio con su memorial de agravios; la llegada y traducción de los derechos del hombre y el ciudadano por Antonio Nariño, y la fuerte relación de personajes de la política con las letras, la filosofía y el derecho, pueden ser ejemplos breves del uso e impronta de la ley en la configuración de la nación colombiana.

No full textEl campo disciplinar de la educación tiene la característica de ser un ámbito cada vez más diverso en los problemas que indaga, en las propuestas de intervención o mediación pedagógica que sugiere y en los discursos o enfoques que demarcan las fronteras teórico-conceptuales con otras disciplinas y de los subcampos a su interior. Una de las demarcaciones dentro del gran campo educativo, es aquella que se ha configurado por largo tiempo y es conocida como educación y pedagogía social. Algunos autores han diferenciado ambas instancias, dejando a la educación social las reflexiones más conceptuales o epistemológicas acerca del quehacer, la deontología y/o los enfoques de acción, en tanto la pedagogía social estaría más cerca a las consideraciones e inquietudes por las prácticas y experiencias concretas que, en algunas ocasiones, han intentado darle soporte de cientificidad para otorgarle mayor visibilidad y coherencia. En el presente libro dicha diferenciación no funcionó como un criterio taxativo para las elaboraciones o reflexiones de los autores, algunos textos son más cercanos a la demarcación, pero otros interrogan los campos desde las experiencias de los autores, todos ellos docentes y partícipes de proyectos, iniciativas o propuestas signadas por la educación y la pedagogía social.

No full textDos aspectos puntuales motivaron la investigación que da origen a este libro: primero, la necesidad de describir los aspectos característicos de UNICATÓLICA, para encontrar los elementos que permiten una lectura de la comunidad ubicada en el ámbito de la educación superior; y segundo, responder a las inquietudes que tienen los miembros de la comunidad en torno a cómo afecta la configuración de las relaciones de género a la comunidad en general y, en especial, a la esfera de la educación superior.
