    Unveiling the Mineral and Sugar Richness of Moroccan Honeys: A Study of Botanical Origins and Quality Indicators

    This study comprehensively analyzes the mineral and heavy metal profiles of seven honey types, focusing on the contents of potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn), copper (Cu), cadmium (Cd), and lead (Pb), with particular emphasis on honey produced in eastern Morocco. Multifloral honey was found to have the highest total mineral content (661 mg/kg), while rosemary honey had the lowest (201.31 mg/kg), revealing the strong influence of floral and botanical origin. Darker honey, such as multifloral and jujube, were richer in minerals, with potassium consistently being the most abundant, followed by calcium, magnesium, and iron, while cadmium and lead remained within safe, trace-level concentrations. Additionally, sugar profiling showed that all samples contained fructose, glucose, maltose, turanose, erlose, sucrose, and palatinose, with particularly high fructose and glucose contents in multifloral honey. Principal component analysis (PCA) accounted for 75% of the variation and identified three distinct groups of honey based on mineral content multifloral, eucalyptus, and rosemary. Multifloral and eucalyptus honey had higher concentrations of iron, magnesium, and calcium, whereas rosemary honey was richer in zinc and copper. The findings underscore the potential of honey as a marker of environmental quality and suggest that eastern Morocco honey possesses favorable characteristics for national and international commercialization

    Toward acceptance of human-robot collaboration in industrial settings: a bibliometric and systematic literature review

    Human-Robot Collaboration (HRC) is paramount to move toward efficient and sustainable manufacturing systems. Nonetheless, the successful integration of collaborative robots (cobots) in workplaces strongly depends on workers’ acceptance, which is affected by a complex set of individual, organizational and technical factors. As a result, understanding these factors is crucial to ensure effective cobots implementation into industrial environments while ensuring the workers well-being and safety. To this aim, a bibliometric analysis and a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) are carried out in this paper to provide a comprehensive overview of key perceived benefits and concerns influencing the workers’ acceptance of cobots in industrial settings. The most researched topics, and the possible future research directions are identified. In line with the Industry 5.0 paradigm, the reviewed articles highlight the central role of adaptive systems, human-centered design principles, and standardized safety protocols. Physical and cognitive ergonomic factors emerge as essential, while tailored communication methods are shown to significantly impact the worker attitude toward cobots. Furthermore, the integration of virtual reality tools for design optimization and immersive worker training environments seems to be highly promising to mitigate safety concerns and improve familiarity prior implementation

    UAV-Based Pasture Characterization for Precision Grazing Management: Preliminary Results in Calabria (Southern Italy)

    The characterization of pastures represents an innovative approach to optimizing the use of forage resources and promoting the sustainability of livestock farming. The use of remote sensing (RS) technologies, such as uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs), enables more precise characterization of pastures allowing for the rapid collection of high-resolution data at relatively low costs. The main objective of this research is to evaluate the applicability of UAVs in precision pasture management, with particular attention to the characterization of Calabrian pastures. The study site is located at the pilot farm “Fattoria Biò” in Celico (province of Cosenza, Calabria region, southern Italy) at 1177 m a.s.l. inside the territory of the Sila National Park. A grass biomass sampling was carried out on the total epigeal biomass in correspondence of 13 different sampling points randomly chosen within the field. A multispectral UAV flight was performed immediately before the field survey with the aim of vegetation indices (VIs) processing. The relationship between VIs values, chemical values, and floristic composition was calculated by means of the Pearson’s correlation coefficient and root mean square error (RMSE). The correlation was investigated considering the mean, minimum, and maximum value of each processed VI. The analyses highlight a good condition of the pasture and correlation shown good performance for specific VIs

    Pinctada radiata, Leach, 1814, is considered the first Indo-Pacific bivalve introduced in the Mediterranean Sea after the Suez Canal opening and it is now reckoned among the 100 most invasive species within the basin. It is important to assess and describe its established populations in Mediterranean coastal ecosystems to understand the dynamics of this successful invasion and its adaptability. Present research aims to describe the population of P. radiata inhabiting the Capo Peloro Coastal Lagoon (Central Mediterranean Sea, Italy) also analyzing morphometric relationships and growth dynamics. Visual monitoring was carried out along the infralittoral fringe of the Faro Lake and the Faro Canal. Three representative sites have been chosen to investigate their distribution, abundance and associated habitats using the visual census technique, and performing seven strip transects, parallel to the coastline and with constant depth. All the P. radiata specimens present have been counted and 115 individuals have been randomly sampled during the entire study period. Several morphometric measurements have been recorded for morphometric relationships and growth dynamic analyses, assessing the growth indexes, natural mortality parameters and recruitment patterns. Results showed the presence of a mature P. radiata population, organized in banks and patches, confirming the ability of this species to widely colonize the host environments. The information on morphometric relations and growth dynamics showed that the studied area can promote the growth and the well-being of this species. Future studies are needed to fully understand the negative or positive effects of the spreading of this species
