LA DIFFUSION, L’ADOPTION ET LA MISE EN OEUVRE DES INNOVATIONS EN CONTROLE DE GESTION : UNE REVUE DE LA LITTERATURE
International audienceOur aim is to make an interpretative synthesis of quantitative, qualitative and mixed empirical studies on the diffusion, adoption and implementation of management control innovations. At first, quantitative analysis of these studies reveals the increase and decrease in publications over time, the predominance of the "implementation" perspective, the focus on a small number of innovations (ABC, Balanced Scorecard) and a wide variety of theoretical frameworks and research methods used. Then, the qualitative analysis presents a synthesis of the results of this empirical research to highlight the main problems identified. Finally, some avenues for future research are suggested.
Is corporate social responsibility a new spirit of capitalism?
International audienceOur study casts doubt on whether the managerial literature on corporate social responsibility is currently capable of developing a persuasive discourse to bring about change in corporate capitalism. By applying the framework and methodology of the spirit of capitalism, introduced by Boltanski and Chiapello, to a corpus of managerial books, we suggest that corporate social responsibility exhibits the core characteristics that together exemplify the ‘spirit of capitalism’. However, corporate social responsibility deals inadequately with the two key characteristics of the spirit of capitalism—security and fairness—by disregarding individual security and tangible rewards for workers who play decisive roles in enacting the spirit. The lack of consideration for workers could weaken the potential of corporate social responsibility to grow into a new spirit of capitalism and to bring about changes envisioned by critical management studies in corporate capitalism
The Truck Scheduling Problem at Crossdocking Terminals - Exclusive versus Mixed Mode
International audienceIn this paper we study the scheduling of the docking operations of trucks at a warehouse; each truck is either empty and needs to be loaded, or full and has to be unloaded (but not both). We focus on crossdocking, which is a recent warehouse concept that favors the transfers of as many incoming products as possible directly to outgoing trailers, without intermediate storage in the warehouse. We propose a time-indexed integer programming formulation for scheduling the loading and unloading of the trucks at the docks, and we distinguish between a so-called " mixed mode " , in which some or all of the docks can be used both for loading as well as unloading, and an " exclusive mode " , in which each dock is dedicated to only one of the two types of operations. Computational experiments are provided to compare the efficiency of the two modes

One step beyond? Towards a process view of social networks in entrepreneurship
International audienceA critical challenge for entrepreneurship scholars is the need to develop a greater understanding of (1) how, when and why entrepreneurial networks emerge, develop and change over time and (2) how network evolution impacts on the entrepreneurial trajectory. This special issue of Entrepreneurship & Regional Development begins to address these challenges by presenting a range of current works that further increase our understanding about social network dynamics during the entrepreneurial process. We begin by connecting this special issue to some of the main challenges of the field of entrepreneurship. From this, we propose an integrative perspective required to move thinking forward. We then summarize how the diverse papers presented in this special issue contribute to opening up the research field further and help us develop a greater understanding about the challenges entrepreneurship scholars face. We conclude this article with lessons and suggestions for future research.<br /
Causal linkages between supply chain management practices and performance: a balanced scorecard strategy map perspective
International audiencePurpose – The purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate, from a balanced scorecard strategy map perspective, the types of linkages – sequential, non-sequential, intra-dependent, and reverse – through which supply chain management practices (SCMP) impact on financial and non-financial performance, and consequently lead to the achievement of the firm’s strategic objectives. Design/methodology/approach – This study is carried out in two stages. Firstly, based on the survey data collected from 450 French industrial firms (with a return rate of 20.2%), structural equation modelling (SEM) is used to test eight hypotheses that are formulated through the discussion of previous theoretical and empirical findings in extant literature. Then, based on the framework of the balanced scorecard strategy map, the SEM results are used to discuss the linkages between SCMP and firm performance. Findings – After confirming some of the relationships already observed in extant literature, our results show that there are many strategic paths (of different nature) that link supply chain management practices and other intangible assets to financial performance. Practical implications – The results of our study constitute a practical contribution that would guide managers in the strategic alignment of their firm’s supply chain initiatives with corporate strategy. We argue that when implementing SCM initiatives, managers should pay particular attention to how intangible assets act as mediating factors in the achievement of the firm’s financial objectives. The BSC framework that we propose can also be used by researchers to investigate causal linkages between intangible and tangible assets. Originality/value – There are few studies that adopt an extensive multi-dimensional approach by looking simultaneously at both upstream and downstream linkages of the supply chain while taking into account many performance measures. Using the balanced scorecard strategic map framework, this paper proposes eight types of linkages that could lead to the achievement of the firm’s strategic goals
