    Part 1: Full PapersInternational audienceInter-organisational data exchange is regulated by norms originating from sources ranging from individual consent to (inter)national laws. Verifying norm-compliance is complex because laws (e.g., GDPR) distribute responsibility and require accountability. Moreover, in some domains (e.g., healthcare), the norms themselves may be private. In contrast, standard solutions (e.g., access- and usage-control, smart contracts) reason about policies that are assumed to be public. Instead, we present a novel framework prescribing how decentralised agents decide which actions are justified, despite their partial views of the policy. Crucially, justifications are universal, e.g., accepted by future auditors. Agents establish a common notion of compliance through an (externally synchronized) agreement, which is the basis of each justification defined by policy fragments agents autonomously create, gossip, and assemble.We demonstrate our framework with a federated medical data processing system, using Datalog with weak negation as a minimal policy language

However, the implementation of the Circular Economy remains limited due to economic and financial barriers. This paper proposes to overcome these barriers by designing a decision support system for hyperconnected circular supply chain network design, leveraging opportunities offered by collaborative networks and the Physical Internet. A methodology inspired by Herbert Simon’s decision-making theory is developed, including the intelligence, design, choice, and implementation phases. Specifically, a matrix for strategic options is proposed to elaborate scenarios for the design phase.     Asynchronous cellular system that solves the parity problem

    Part 2: Contributed PapersInternational audienceWe present stochastic cellular automata that classify the parity ofinitial conditions. The model is an interacting particles system wherecells are updated by pairs, randomly chosen at each time step. A firstrule is proposed, with a symmetry between 0's and 1's. We show thatit classifies the parity of the initial configurations thanks to a non-biased random walk of the frontiers between 0's and 1's. We present an analysis of the classification time, as well as numerical simulations, to establish that the classification time scales quadratically with the number of cells. In a second time, breaking the state symmetry, we propose an improvement of this rule with the simultaneous use of two classifying systems

    Part 1: Digital Transformation Approaches in Production and ManagementInternational audienceThe Resource-Based View (RBV) posits that firms controlling and managing identical resources may exhibit divergent performance due to the development of distinct capabilities. These organisational capabilities, defined as an organisation’s ability to utilise its tangible or intangible assets to perform tasks or activities that enhance performance, are pivotal in securing competitive advantages. Capabilities are bifurcated into two dimensions: capacity and maturity. Capacity pertains to the resources that an organisation manages and controls, while maturity denotes proficiency in utilising the capacity for value creation that aligns with strategic objectives. In the contemporary business landscape, digitalisation has emerged as a significant avenue for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to carve out competitive advantages. However, it is noteworthy that 70% of digital transformation initiatives fail to contribute to business performance [5], underscoring the importance of successful digitalisation applications in streamlining business processes. Digitalisation capabilities, which refer to the ability to generate value from data produced, gathered, and stored by digital technologies in alignment with business strategy, can be cultivated through digital capacity and digital maturity. This research employs a theoretical framework to foster digital capabilities within organisations, the applicability of which was demonstrated via a longitudinal case study in a Turkish manufacturing SME. The findings reveal various strategies to adapt different digital technologies for value creation and business promotion within its industry. The journey of digitalisation in manufacturing SMEs presents several gaps that require attention, and it is crucial to align digital capabilities with the company’s strategic objectives

    Part 3: Computer Vision-based Digital Twin and Digital Services for Dynamic Production and Logistics EnvironmentInternational audienceThis study applies an intersectional approach to address concerns about diversity of data acquisition when applying computer vision systems in human order picking. The study draws empirical data from a single case study conducted at an automotive manufacturer. It identifies critical factors of intersectionality for the use of vision systems to enrich data collection in human order picking at four levels including form and function, experience and services, systems and infrastructure, and paradigm and purpose. These findings are helpful for mitigating bias and ensuring accurate representation of the target population in training datasets. The results of our study are indispensable for enhancing human-centricity when applying computer vision systems, and facilitating the acquisition of unstructured data in human order picking. The study contributes to enhancing diversity in human order picking, a situation that is highly relevant because of the variations in age, gender, cultural background, and language of staff. The study discusses theoretical and managerial implications of findings, alongside suggestions for future research

    Dashboard Development for the Quality Department of a Company from the Automotive Industry

    Part 1: Digital Transformation Approaches in Production and ManagementInternational audienceThe digitalisation of the automotive industry has led to an increase in the volume of data, making it difficult to analyse and interpret. To address this situation, managers have turned to dashboards that provide quick access to relevant information to support decision making. This study focuses on the development of a dashboard for the quality department of a company from the automotive industry. Through data collection, performance indicators were identified, constraints were addressed, and plans were developed. The dashboard, comprising a main interface and three additional interfaces, was designed using Power BI. Besides meeting the quality department’s requirements, it serves as the foundation for a larger dashboard module within a manufacturing execution system (MES). Employee involvement ensured the dashboard’s relevance and effectiveness. Additionally, the dashboard offers cost-effective benefits for the organization and serves as a prototype for what the MES should automatically produce

    A Novel End-User-Oriented Perspective for Mobile Service Artefacts: Conceptualizing Usage Patterns

    Part 2: Digital Transformation and Organizational InnovationInternational audienceMobile apps have become the norm in affluent and non-affluent societies across the developed and developing worlds. Consumers’ desire for the latest feature-rich mobile services pushes e-commerce and Internet firms to constantly improve their mobile app artefacts. Accordingly, in this research, we study how end-user orientations affect the usage patterns of mobile services related to different service categories and how these usage patterns affect end-user cognitive engagement. We conceptualized a novel end-user-oriented research model to understand these usage patterns with support from extant literature and self-determination theory. Our research examined informative content, entertainment, location-based, and transaction-based mobile service categories. We adapted existing scales in the survey, collected data from smartphone users, and conducted SEM to test hypotheses. Our novel findings suggest that the end-user-oriented variable, defined as personal innovativeness in mobile artefacts, is crucial in determining usage patterns for all types of mobile services. Also, consumption of different mobile service categories shows different end-user cognitive engagement effects. Our study offers significant theoretical contributions and practical implications for e-commerce and Internet firms
