The quasisymmetric flag variety: a toric complex on noncrossing partitions
We develop the geometric theory of equivariant quasisymmetry via a new ``quasisymmetric flag variety''. This is a toric complex in the flag variety whose fixed point set is the set of noncrossing partitions, and whose cohomology ring is the ring of quasisymmetric coinvariants
Remote Control of Cell Signaling through Caveolae Mechanics
Abstract Caveolae are invaginated plasma membrane nanodomains traditionally associated with membrane trafficking and signaling. These multifunctional organelles are also essential mechanosensors mediating the cell response to mechanical stress. We investigated the role of caveolae mechanics in regulating various signaling pathways. Single molecule imaging and super resolution microscopy revealed that mechanical stress rapidly triggers caveolae disassembly and the release of caveolin-1 scaffolds, which exhibit enhanced diffusion at the plasma membrane. This promoted direct interaction between the caveolin-1 scaffolding domain and the tyrosine kinase JAK1, leading to the inhibition of its catalytic activity. A similar process was observed for eNOS, PTEN, and PTP1B. Remote control of signaling by caveolae was validated by a theoretical model based on caveolae thermodynamics. These findings establish a novel mechanotransduction paradigm where signaling information is decoded remotely from the initial mechanosensing caveola, through dynamic and reversible assembly of tension-controlled complexes between signaling effectors and caveolin-1 scaffolds
Model Interpretability and Intensity Prediction of Rockbursts Using a Method Innovation Based on the QGHSCSO-CatBoost Algorithm
Rockbursts are often sudden and random, and they negatively affect the construction of tunnels and mines, creating unsafe conditions. Accurately predicting rockburst intensity is critical for disaster prevention and control and to ensure safety in underground spaces. Predicting rockbursts with traditional machine learning methods has become increasingly common; however, black-box effects limit the interpretability of the prediction mechanism. This study proposes a novel rockburst prediction method that combines a multistrategy improved optimization (quantum computation and good point sets and harmonizing sand cat swarm optimization (QGHSCSO)) with the CatBoost model. An interpretable technique (Shapley additive explanations (SHAPs)) is introduced to decipher the black-box effect of the QGHSCSO-CatBoost model, revealing the algorithm's prediction mechanism. A comprehensive and multiangle performance comparison analysis is conducted with the whale optimization algorithm (WOA), northern goshawk optimization (NGO), and Harris hawk optimization (HHO) algorithms, using 10 test functions to verify the robustness and convergence of the QGHSCSO algorithm. The contributions of input factors to the prediction results are evaluated via a SHAP analysis. The results indicate that model classification predictions are governed by the elastic deformation energy coefficient (Wet\\documentclass[12pt]\minimal\ \\usepackage\amsmath\ \\usepackage\wasysym\ \\usepackage\amsfonts\ \\usepackage\amssymb\ \\usepackage\amsbsy\ \\usepackage\mathrsfs\ \\usepackage\upgreek\ \\setlength\\\oddsidemargin\\-69pt\ \\begin\document\\\\W\_\\\text\et\ \\\\\end\document\), particularly in intense rockbursts. The rock stress coefficient (sigma theta/sigma c\\documentclass[12pt]\minimal\ \\usepackage\amsmath\ \\usepackage\wasysym\ \\usepackage\amsfonts\ \\usepackage\amssymb\ \\usepackage\amsbsy\ \\usepackage\mathrsfs\ \\usepackage\upgreek\ \\setlength\\\oddsidemargin\\-69pt\ \\begin\document\\\\\\sigma \_\\\uptheta \/\\\sigma \_\\\text\c\\\\\\end\document\) and rock brittleness coefficient (sigma c/sigma t\\documentclass[12pt]\minimal\ \\usepackage\amsmath\ \\usepackage\wasysym\ \\usepackage\amsfonts\ \\usepackage\amssymb\ \\usepackage\amsbsy\ \\usepackage\mathrsfs\ \\usepackage\upgreek\ \\setlength\\\oddsidemargin\\-69pt\ \\begin\document\\\\\\sigma \_\\\text\c\\/\\\sigma \_\\\text\t\\\\\\end\document\) have minor SHAP contributions, indicating that they serve as supporting factors in low-to-moderate predictions. The QGHSCSO-CatBoost model, based on interpretable techniques, provides accurate and stable rockburst prediction (prediction accuracies of 90.74% for the test set); therefore, the QGHSCSO-CatBoost algorithm is a feasible approach for rockburst intensity prediction

Grafixer: Enabling User-Centric Repairs for Property Graphs
International audienceWe introduce Grafixer, an innovative interactive tool that enables human-in-the-loop repair of property graphs. By leveraging user expertise, Grafixer allows collaborative identification and correction of data inconsistencies while ensuring an efficient repair process. Users can upload property graph datasets and define constraints using Cypher, a widely adopted query language. The system efficiently manages overlapping data violations, ensuring that multiple users can work simultaneously on independent repairs without conflicts. Additionally, Grafixer provides an interactive dashboard that allows administrators to monitor real-time statistics, track progress, and oversee the repair process. In our demo, we showcase the complete repair workflow from both the administrator's and users' perspectives. Administrators can configure the repair process, monitor ongoing corrections, and assess the overall status of the graph. Meanwhile, users engage in the repair process by reviewing violations, proposing corrections, and contributing to improving data quality through an intuitive and guided interface
Permanent degradation of p-GaN HEMTs due to repetitive overvoltage stress during hard turn-off switching
#58International audienceGallium Nitride High Electron Mobility Transistors (GaN HEMTs) are promising candidates for power electronicsbut suffer from reliability concerns due to, for instance, their lack of avalanche capability. This study investigatesthe long-term impact of dynamic overvoltage stress on GaN HEMTs using a newly designed test circuit, UIS3,which isolates key stress factors. Devices were subjected to short-duration repetitive overvoltage stress near theirdynamic breakdown voltage. Characterization before and after stress reveals permanent degradation in CDS andIDSS , suggesting structural damage within the device. A distinct alteration in the CDS curve is observed, possiblylinked to local breakdown in the insulating layer. Higher stress levels accelerate failure. Our results provide newinsights into GaN HEMT degradation mechanisms under high-voltage stres

An Online Analytical Solution for Multi-Sector Bearingless Machine Current Reference Calculation
International audienceIn this paper, an online analytical current reference calculation for minimizing Joule losses in Multi-Sector Bearingless Synchronous Machine with power-sharing capabilities is presented. In this study, the optimization problem of determining the current references as a function of torque and radial forces, is solved analytically and compared with previously proposed numerical solutions. The proposed method significantly reduces the required data storage and computational burden, making it more suitable for real-time applications. Additionally, it improves the precision of current reference calculations, ensuring more efficient and balanced power distribution among multiple sectors. This advancement contributes to the overall reliability and performance of bearingless machine systems in high-speed and high-precision applications
