International audienceThis paper explores the modeling of interturn short circuits in segmented permanent magnet synchronous machines, with a focus on highly coupled segmentation and multi-sector segmentation of its winding. It introduces a specific approach, providing a consistent framework for analyzing this phenomenon when the segmented drive operates in power sharing mode. The study presents a comprehensive model for analyzing inter-turn short circuits faults regardless of the segmentation technology implemented. This model is compared with data extracted from an experimental bench designed in the laboratory for this study. The analysis shows an excellent fit of the model to the experiment. Also, the analytical structure implemented enables comparing the impact of power sharing on segmented structures. The main results reveal that, contrary to highly coupled segmentation, multi-sector segmentation configurations exhibit greater sensitivity to power sharing variations, particularly depending on the degrees of freedom of the segment where inter-turn short circuit fault occurs.
Delaunay-Rips filtration: a study and an algorithm
The Delaunay-Rips filtration is a lighter and faster alternative to the well-known Rips filtration for low-dimensional Euclidean point clouds. Despite these advantages, it has seldom been studied. In this paper, we aim to bridge this gap by providing a thorough theoretical and empirical analysis of this construction. From a theoretical perspective, we show how the persistence diagrams associated with the Delaunay-Rips filtration approximate those obtained with the Rips filtration. Additionally, we describe the instabilities of the Delaunay-Rips persistence diagrams when the input point cloud is perturbed. Finally, we introduce an algorithm that computes persistence diagrams of Delaunay-Rips filtrations in any dimension. We show that our method is faster and has a lower memory footprint than traditional approaches in low dimensions. Our C++ implementation, which comes with Python bindings, is available at https://github.com/MClemot/GeoPH
Random tangled currents for : translation invariant Gibbs measures and continuity of the phase transition
International audienceWe prove that the set of automorphism invariant Gibbs measures for the φ^4 model on graphs of polynomial growth has at most two extremal measures at all values of β. We also give a sufficient condition to ensure that the set of all Gibbs measures is a singleton. As an application, we show that the spontaneous magnetisation of the nearest-neighbour φ^4 model on Z^d vanishes at criticality for d ≥ 3. The analogous results were established for the Ising model in the seminal works of Aizenman, Duminil-Copin, and Sidoravicius (Comm. Math. Phys., 2015), and Raoufi (Ann. Prob., 2020) using the so-called random current representation introduced by Aizenman (Comm. Math. Phys., 1982). One of the main contributions of this paper is the development of a corresponding geometric representation for the φ^4 model called the random tangled current representation
Monitoring Liver Viability: Fluorescence Spectroscopy of Cellular Metabolites in Ischemia-Reperfusion
International audienceThe growing demand for organ transplantation and the shortage of available organs has led to the use of extended criteria donors and perfusion machines to expand the donor pool. However, current clinical practice lacks effective methods for real-time graft monitoring during perfusion. Graft monitoring on perfusion machines represents a promising approach for continuous assessment of their functional status . During the reperfusion phase, it becomes possible to monitor the graft's condition in real-time through the study of respiratory chain metabolites. This respiratory chain is particularly affected during ischemia and reperfusion phases, making its monitoring essential for optimizing preservation conditions and predicting graft viability prior to transplantation
New Insight into the Correlation Between Lubricant Glass Transition and friction Plateau in Highly Loaded Contacts
It was shown in a previous paper that friction in highly loaded non-conforming contacts correlated with the formation of a glassy state of the lubricant, for the only lubricant studied (benzyl benzoate). The aim of the present paper is to extend this conclusion to other types of fluid: a model fluid from the literature (glycerol) and a well-known lubricant (squalane). The characterization of these fluids in the bulk by Brillouin spectroscopy shows a similar evolution of their behavior with pressure and makes it possible to identify their glass transition pressure. Furthermore, comparison of this characterization with friction data for squalane validates the correlation previously established for benzyl benzoate. In a second part, the structural relaxation time of benzyl benzoate is derived from Brillouin spectra to probe the influence of hydrostatic pressure on fluid dynamics. This parameter, superimposed on the previous friction measurements, shows that the dynamics of the molecules is highly reduced at high pressures, which explains the macroscopically solid-like behavior of the lubricant. This result suggests that the relaxation time is an essential parameter for the correct modeling of highly loaded lubricated contacts
Exploring compressed air energy storage in abandoned flooded coal mine: Thermodynamic analysis and applicability study
Global renewable energy generation has been steadily increasing, necessitating commensurate expansion in energy storage infrastructure. Utilizing abandoned coal mines fo compressed air energy storage (CAES) presents a promising solution. Considering the widespread occurrence of high water levels in southern China's coal mines, a novel flooded coal mine roadway compressed air energy storage (FM-CAES) system is proposed. This system leverages water pressure to maintain constant air pressure, thereby enhancing efficiency and minimizing leakage. The influence of key input parameters on the FM-CAES system efficiency is comprehensively analyzed, with particular focus on average air leakage rate (AALR) and operational performance under varying roadway depths and permeability conditions. The results indicate that the thermal efficiency of the FM-CAES system reaches 71.5 %, with an energy storage density (ESD) of 29.72 MJ/m3. Increased water pressure within the roadways improves efficiency and extends charge/discharge durations, while airflow rate has minimal impact. Improved compressor isentropic efficiency further boosts the system performance. Deeper roadways exhibit lower AALR and reduced efficiency during initial storage phases, though efficiencies converge across depths in later stages. The ESD increases by approximately 4.3-6.7 MJ/m3 for every 100-m increase in depth. Critical permeability thresholds are identified at 1 x 10-17 m2 for surrounding rock and 1 x 10-19 m2 for limitedthickness linings, below which the AALR stabilizes. Compared to conventional constant-volume CAES systems in coal mines, the FM-CAES system, which utilizes the constant pressure of floodwater, exhibits an approximate 9 % improvement in efficiency, along with significantly enhanced ESD and discharge depth

U(h)-finitely generated g-modules and coherent families
This thesis investigates the relationship between two categories of representations over a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra g: the category Wadm of admissible weight modules, consisting of g-modules on which a fixed Cartan subalgebra h ⊆ g acts semi-simply with weight spaces of uniformly bounded dimension; and the category A of U(h)-finite g-modules, consisting of modules finitely generated over U(h), the universal enveloping algebra of h. We establish that both categories Wadm and A have objects with Gelfand-Kirillov dimension bounded by the rank of g. As a consequence of this result, we prove that A shares several structural properties with Wadm, such as the finite length of its objects, a block decomposition corresponding to generalized central characters and the existence of infinite dimensional objects only when g is of type A or C. The weighting functor W provides another link between these categories, mapping a U(h)- finite modules to admissible weight modules. By studying W and its left derived functors, we transfer properties of simple admissible weight modules to A. In particular, we prove that infinite dimensional simple U(h)-modules are U(h)-torsion free and locally free at all but finitely many maximal ideals of U(h). We introduce the concept of almost equivalence of weight modules and show that, if M ∈ A is simple of infinite dimension, then W(M) is almost equivalent to a finite number of copies, called coherent-multiplicity, of a unique irreducible semi-simple coherent family - a class of modules introduced and classified by Mathieu in [Mat00]. Using this framework, we classify simple U(h)-finite modules with coherent-multiplicity one, except for those with regular central character when g = sl(n + 1) for n ≥ 3. Finally, for each positive integer m, we construct a family of simple sl(n + 1)-modules with coherent-multiplicity m.
