    No full text

    No full text
International audienceWe present the updated recommendations of the Société française de radiothérapie oncologique (SFRO; the French society of radiation oncology) regarding the radiotherapy management of laryngeal cancers. Clinical examination in a seated position and nasofibroscopy are essential for accurately assessing laryngeal mobility, a crucial parameter in the therapeutic decision-making process for glottic cancer. In early-stage cancers, treatment selection depends on multiple factors and requires thorough consideration and multidisciplinary discussion. Between surgery and radiotherapy, the decision can be personalized to achieve an optimal balance between tumour control and the preservation of laryngeal function. In advanced-stage laryngeal tumours, the therapeutic approach is mainly based on two strategies: concomitant chemoradiotherapy or induction chemotherapy followed by chemoradiotherapy. However, in some cases where these approaches are not feasible, the treatment relies on upfront total laryngectomy, often followed by adjuvant therapy. With the exception of early-stage glottic tumours, where hypofractionation has proven its efficacy, there is no formal indication to modify the standard fractionation regimen. Due to the movements induced by respiration and swallowing, laryngeal mobility must be taken into account. Three-dimensional volumetric imaging is the gold standard for ensuring accurate daily patient positioning and monitoring weight loss. The follow-up of laryngeal cancers is crucial for the early detection of potential recurrences and for adjusting oncological management when necessary. It also plays a key role in patient rehabilitation, ensuring the best possible preservation of vocal and respiratory functions to optimize quality of life.

Spatial random access to explore heritage site using spherical video

    No full text
International audienceSpherical images are particularly adapted to develop virtual tours of heritage monuments. While Lidar scanning, photogrammetry and rotating camera systems can lead to produce spherical images, compact dual-fisheye cameras are accurate enough for many uses, such as virtual tour, and easy to use by a non-expert. But the classical software consider placing a few images manually on the blueprint of the environment. Then, the user navigation in the virtual monument is limited to generated transitions between a few locations. Instead of a few pictures, this paper considers a spherical video recorded while walking within a monument and illustrates how to explore spatial dimensions of the environment where the video was taken, beyond the time scroll-bar. To this end, spherical visual Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM) and the alignment of the resulting map to an architectural blueprint are combined to create a spatio-temporal virtual tour from a video. The concept is demonstrated on the al-Qarawiyyin Mosque in Fez, Morocco, with access to the virtual tour interface online to happen on https://mis.u-picardie.fr/~ecathedrale

Healthcare Facility Location Problem and Fitness Landscape Analysis

    No full text
International audienceThis paper presents an initial study of a Healthcare Facility Location Problem, the Two-Level P-Median Location Problem (TLPMLP). The main goal is to analyze problem instances by studying their associated fitness landscape characteristics, with a focus on ruggedness, neutrality and number of local optima. For each instance, we consider two fitness landscapes defined by the following two functions: the direct neighborhood function (O(n)) complexity) and the two-step Neighborhood function (O(n(2)) complexity). We also conduct a preliminary exploration on the correlation between the fitness landscape characteristics and the solving difficulty by using an exact method (binary linear program) and two straightforward local search methods: a hillclimber and sampled walk. Experiments are conducted on 40 instances from the literature and 27 randomly generated ones. We discuss our results and point out several future research directions on these initial approaches to analyzing TLPMLP

International audienceThe evolution of Supply Chain Management (SCM) has been shaped by successive industrial revolutions, each characterized by distinct operational objectives and technological advancements. This paper examines the transition of SCM from Industry 3.0 to Industry 5.0, with a particular focus on sustainable digital transformation. Throughout this progression, SCM has continuously adapted to shifting business and environmental imperatives, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance resilience and efficiency. Through a comprehensive literature review and bibliometric analysis, this study develops a structured framework that maps the evolution of SCM across these industrial phases. It explores the integration of sustainable practices and technological advancements, offering valuable insights for both academic researchers and industry professionals. Furthermore, this research highlights how Industry 5.0 fosters a socially sustainable approach to SCM by emphasizing humancentric strategies. By analyzing the interplay between technological innovation, sustainability objectives, and managerial paradigms, this study synthesizes diverse strategies for building more innovative, resilient, and sustainable supply chains in an increasingly complex global landscape

Navigating academic setbacks with intention and self-efficacy for decentering and self-compassion

    No full text
International audienceAfter setbacks, students want to regain their balance. One way to do this is by keeping a healthy distance from disturbing cognitive and emotional experiences (decentering) and being kind to oneself (self-compassion). The present work pioneers assessing the intention and self-efficacy for decentering and self-compassion after academic setbacks on a comprehensive international sample across four studies (N = 1846). We propose distinguishing between intention and self-efficacy, as students may desire to engage in decentering and selfcompassion following setbacks (intention), but they may not believe they can do so (self-efficacy). Study 1 suggests that the post-setback decentering and self-compassion dimensions have strong reliability and are well separated regarding both the intention and self-efficacy constructs. Intention and self-efficacy had weak-tomoderate correlations, indicating the relevance of the distinct constructs. Study 2a and Study 2b demonstrated that both constructs have meaningful relationships with constructs related to well-being and mental health in the academic context but are independent of academic performance. Study 2c demonstrated a meaningful relationship pattern with growth mindset and mindset meaning system measures. Students' post-setback intentions and self-efficacy for decentering and self-compassion seem relevant for their well-being during academic challenges but not for their academic performance

Background: This prospective interventional study aimed to evaluate the impact of receptive music therapy on cardiovascular parameters in patients waiting in general medical practice settings. A cluster randomization method was used to assign practices from the Hauts-de-France region into two groups: an experimental group exposed to music therapy and a control group without any auditory intervention. A total of 138 patients aged 12 and over were included, with balanced representation across sociodemographic categories. Results: Cardiovascular parameters were measured before and after a 7-minute intervention. Slight changes, such as a decrease in systolic blood pressure and heart rate in the music group, were observed, though none reached statistical significance. Subgroup analyses showed similar trends without significant differences. However, questionnaire responses revealed a reduction in perceived stress, greater attention to the sound environment, and a more pleasant waiting experience in the music therapy group. Conclusion: While perceived as pleasant, music therapy did not produce significant changes in cardiovascular parameters within this protocol. However, it appears to improve patient comfort and the perception of the waiting room atmosphere. These effects, by promoting relaxation, may positively contribute to patient reception and the doctor-patient relationship in primary care.

    No full text
