Jesus of Nazareth was recognizeg by many of his contemporaries as a “man with supernatural powers” with some extraordinary deeds as healings and exorcisms. What is the reality of all this? Because many people had attributed themselves these powers as Apolonius of Tyana and Simon Magus. Here we attempt to analyze Jesus’ miracles and his working-powers and thus to have an answer to those who looked upon him as only another magician.
The annexation of Judea to the Empire assumed the payment of poll tax, which was levied by the Jewish religious administration. It was not stipulated that the payment will be made in cash, and it could be be done with bronze coins, coins of Tyre or even grain. In addition, numismatic studies have confirmed that the monetization of Roman denarii was scarce in Judea at that time, which would make it impossible for the Jews to pay it with imperial denarii. The mention of the “denarius” and the “Herodians” in Mark 12:13-17 is due to the editorial work of the evangelist, who reelaborated a logion of Jesus to face a conflict in his Roman community: the taxation of the fiscus Iudaicus.
Religion is a constant element in people’s and individual’s lives. But there is a recent phenomenon of socio-cultural and political detachment from society and states, from authority and control. Therefore religion has to recover its social place. That requires avoiding two different versions of fundamentalism: religious (fundamentalist clergy) and secular (laypersons). Religion has a place in a democratic society when identifies itself with secularism. In this realm religion can find a privileged place as one of the institutions able to give sense and able to strengthen morality as well.
The second part of the essay studies the compassion in Aristotle, specifically, in Rhetoric and Poetics. The compassion in Aristotle is not a virtue, but an emotion or passion, so it is not well appreciated; in Poetics is insisted in the purgation of the compassion. Now look, the compassion is not opposed to the virtue, but in the same way that all emotions it could five in a virtuous way, in its middle term. Aristotle emphasizes that we feel compassion especially for those who are near to us and are suffering an undeserved pain, that is, those good and honest people that don\u27t deserve the mentioned suffering but they have constant bad luck. This is the central thesis of Aristotle, nevertheless, in the Poetics is referred to a philanthropic feeling or a sentiment of compassion towards all people, regardless of whether deserve or not that pain, even though they are bad people.

All sciences are connected. Allied not only in its claims of capturing the reality: how it works, where it leads, what it means; but also agree in their utilitarian benefits: improve and protect human life. Moreover derived from each other, although it does not seem so, the same happens between the man and the amoeba. Seemingly disparate sciences, contraries to some, like theology and psychology, or are but ill-assorted relatives or using different clothes betray them identical features.
