Get PDFSummary: My contribution brings out the fundamental theological-spiritual elements in regard to Christian prayer and to the growth of the soul in its union with God, as presented in the book of St. Theresa of Avila, The Way of Perfection, and it analyses the commentary which the saint writes on the prayer of the Our Father in that book. Hence, the sources which have sufficed for me in this are those in the work already mentioned, written by St. Theresa for her nuns, during the time in which she was the prioress of St. Joseph’s monastery, for the purpose of offering them useful advice about prayer, as the way which leads to the fullness of the spiritual life. This commentary on the Our Father is theological and soteriological, in a unified whole; theological because it is a word about God and about the mysteries of Revelation, presented in terms of the glorification of the mystery, and soteriological because it brings out the salvific communion of God with human beings and his love, which always redeems, forgives, heals and comforts.

Get PDFSummary: According to R. Guardini, vocation is the free communion of the person with his Creator, in the light of which the person truly comes to know himself. Leonardo Polo considers that vocation is the person himself, whose existence is the gift of an act of being, coexistent and destined to give itself freely, and which awaits being accepted. Vocation is something personal, something radically new; nevertheless, its manifestation or its state of life is in accordance with the community within which it is formed. The family represents the basic form of community, on the basis of which the other communities, which form every vocation, can be understood.

Sommario: Secondo R. Guardini la vocazione è la comunione libera della persona con il suo Creatore, alla cui luce la persona si conosce veramente. Leonardo Polo considera che la vocazione sia la persona stessa, la cui esistenza è la donazione di un atto di essere coesistente destinato liberamente a donarsi e che attende di essere accettato. La vocazione è qualcosa di personale, novità radicale; tuttavia la sua manifestazione oppure il suo stato di vita è in accordo alla comunità nella quale si forma. La famiglia rappresenta la comunità basilare da cui si capiscono le altre comunità che formano ogni vocazione.

Get PDFSummary: The contemporary world lives under the mark of technology. The robotic, the social network, the Internet of Things are the environment in which humanity lives. People feel as if they are in the midst of an epochal change. The need for a new vision of humanism emerges, alongside the need to develop the capacity for making technology a true resource for the development of humanity. The thinking of Romano Guardini is very relevant even today. Guardini helps us to understand technical power and the relation between nature and culture. He asserts the centrality of the human person and he shows the human qualities needed to be able to live in a time like this. This paper examines the questions of contemporary technology, comparing them with the answers found in the work of Guardini. Its main focus is on the anthropological changes produced by ICT and on Romano Guardini’s suggestions as to how to govern the power of technology.

No full textLa sessualità è parte integrante della persona umana e ne caratterizza il suo pieno sviluppo. Nonostante i numerosi e impressionanti progressi nelle conoscenze scientifiche multidisciplinari in tema di sessualità sembra oggi paradossalmente aumentare, invece che dissolversi, il mistero che la contraddistingue: la ferita della persona prescindendo dall’eziologia oltrepassa, infatti, il semplice deficit di una funzione biologica a cui il pensiero comune sembra voler circoscrivere la sessualità. Il rischio, paventato in particolare dalla sociologia della salute a partire dai primi anni Settanta di considerare l’atto medico non più giustificato e finalizzato esclusivamente in presenza di un danno organico accertato, ma ritenuto lecito anche con finalità potenziative di funzioni apparentemente normali, sembra ormai divenuto realtà soprattutto nel campo delle disfunzioni sessuali, vere o presunte che siano. Questa deriva nel rapporto medico-paziente sollecita il recupero di un approccio personalista e neo-paternalista al paziente disorientato dalla sua condizione e dalle ansie che essa procura ma al contempo immerso nella dominante cultura occidentale in cui il benessere economico nutre e giustifica un diffuso edonismo e sta lentamente ma progressivamente modificando, in numerosi contesti medici, lo stesso rapporto con la salute e la malattia che da qualitativo-quantitativo e di benessere-felicità sta sostituendosi con quello di bisogni-desideri
