The conflict in the Siedlce local government in 1937 with a Russian agent in the background in the light of press reports
No full textThe article shows the conflict in the Siedlce local government, which took place over several months in 1937, and whose parties were two groups of councilors - opponents and supporters of vice-president Stanisław Zdanowski. The reason for the antagonism was the assessment of the financial activities of the city management. An important argument put forward by Zdanowski’s opponents was accusing him of employing his brother-in-law in the city services, who turned out to be a Russian agent. The conflict was reported on an ongoing basis by two magazines - “Ziemia Siedlecka” and “Życie Podlasia”. The inhabitants of Siedlce could learn the arguments of both sides. In reporting on the conflict, the editors of both magazines waged a press war with each other, revealing their sympathies. “Ziemia Siedlecka” presented the position of S. Zdanowski’s group, and “Życie Podlasia” presented the position of the opposing party.Artykuł opisuje konflikt w samorządzie siedleckim, rozgrywający się w ciągu kilku miesięcy 1937 r., a którego stronami były dwie grupy radnych – przeciwników i zwolenników wiceprezydenta Stanisław Zdanowskiego. Powodem antagonizmów była ocena działalności finansowej zarządu miasta. Ważnym argumentem wysuwanym przez przeciwników Zdanowskiego było oskarżenie go o zatrudnienie w służbach miejskich swojego szwagra, który okazał się rosyjskim agentem. Konflikt był na bieżąco opisywany przez dwa czasopisma – „Ziemia Siedlecka” i „Życia Podlasia”. Mieszkańcy Siedlec mogli poznać racje obydwu stron. Redakcje czasopism w relacjonowaniu konfliktu prowadziły ze sobą wojnę prasową, ujawniając swoje sympatie. „Ziemia Siedlecka” prezentowała stanowisko grupy S. Zdanowskiego, zaś „Życie Podlasia” strony przeciwnej

No full textW 1947 r. przyśpieszyły zmiany realiów systemowych w sowietyzowanej Polsce. Zorganizowana konspiracja antykomunistyczna zanikała za sprawą amnestii ogłoszonej po wyborach do Sejmu Ustawodawczego oraz działań aparatu bezpieczeństwa. Zjawisko to nastąpiło także na Górnym Śląsku i w Zagłębiu Dąbrowskim, a podziemie zlikwidowano do 1948 r. W latach stalinizmu w regioniepowstało kilkadziesiąt nowych organizacji konspiracyjnych utworzonych głównie przez ludzi młodych. Były to grupy niewielkie, słabo zorganizowane i efemeryczne. W warunkach niestabilności w relacjach międzynarodowych i stałego zagrożenia wojną światową część z nich nastawiała się na zbrojne wystąpienie przeciwko komunistycznym władzom. Równolegle funkcjonowały struktury konspiracyjne skoncentrowane na samokształceniu i prowadzeniu akcji propagandowych, a także próbujących połączyć obie formy oporu.In 1947, systemic changes in Sovietized Poland accelerated. Organized anti-communist conspiracy ceased to exist due to the amnesty announced after the elections to the Legislative Sejm and the actions of the security apparatus. This also happened in Upper Silesia and in the Dąbrowa Basin, the underground was liquidated by 1948. In the following years, several dozen new underground organizations were established in the region, created mainly by young people. These were small, poorly organized and ephemeral groups. In the conditions of instability in international relations and the constant threat of world war, some of them focused on armed resistance against the communist authorities. In parallel, there were underground structures focused on self-education and conducting propaganda campaigns, as well as trying to combine both forms of resistance

No full textJan Amos Komeński (1592–1670) zajmuje wyjątkowe miejsce w historii pedagogiki jako twórca spójnej koncepcji rozwoju człowieka i edukacji uniwersalnej. Barbara Si-tarska podkreśla humanistyczny i uniwersalistyczny wymiar jego koncepcji. Komeński opowiadał się za edukacją przez całe życie i podkreślał potrzebę kształcenia nie tylko dzieci, ale także dorosłych. Analiza Sitarskiej wskazuje, że myśl Komeńskiego jest aktualna do dziś, kła-dąc nacisk na holistyczny rozwój człowieka, inkluzywny dostęp do edukacji, etykę nauczycielską oraz integrację teorii z praktyką. Jego idee pozostają inspiracją dla pedagogiki ogólnej, dydaktyki, wychowania moralnego i edukacji międzykulturowej.John Amos Comenius (1592–1670) holds a unique place in the history of pedagogy as the creator of a coherent concept of human development and universal education. Barbara Sitarska emphasizes the humanist and universalist dimensions of his concept. Comenius advocated lifelong education and emphasized the need to educate not only children but also adults. Sitarska’s analysis indicates that Comenius\u27s thought is relevant today, emphasizing holistic human development, inclusive access to education, teacher ethics, and the integration of theory and practice. His ideas remain an inspiration for general pedagogy, didactics, moral education, and intercultural education
SELECTED MEASURES OF HUMAN AND SOCIAL CAPITAL OF POLISH MUNICIPALITIES AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN MUNICIPALITIES – CORRELATIONS AND MANAGERIAL IMPLICATIONS
No full textKapitał ludzki i społeczny jest kluczowym czynnikiem sukcesu w zarządzaniu organizacjami, szczególnie w sektorze komercyjnym. Potwierdza to bardzo obszerna literatura przedmiotu. Niniejsze opracowanie proponuje natomiast postrzeganie ,,organizacji” jako wspólnoty mieszkańców na określonym terytorium, umocowanych organizacyjnie, prawnie i finansowo poprzez samorząd gminny. W takim ujęciu owym sukcesem i zarazem rezultatem zarządzania powinna być jakość życia mieszkańców i zrównoważony rozwój. Celem artykułu jest zbadanie relacji między kapitałami niefinansowymi gmin a jakością życia w gminach i określenie implikacji zarządczych dla władz gmin, które wynikają z tych relacji. W artykule przeprowadzono studia wybranej, najnowszej literatury na ten temat. Przedmiotem badań własnych jest 30 polskich gmin miejsko-wiejskich, miast powiatowych powiatów ziemskich (10 o niskiej zamożności, 10 o średniej zamożności i 10 o wysokiej zamożności. W rezultacie przeprowadzonych badań ustalono występowanie bardzo silnej korelacji pomiędzy wybranymi miernikami kapitału ludzkiego a jakością życia w gminach oraz silnej korelacji pomiędzy wybranymi elementami kapitału społecznego a jakością życia w gminach. Dokonane analizy dostarczyły nowych informacji na temat wpływu badanych kapitałów niefinansowych na jakość życia w gminach oraz sformułowania na tej podstawie implikacji i rekomendacji zarządczych dla gmin.
Human and social capital is a key success factor in managing organizations, especially in the commercial sector. This is confirmed by the very large literature on the subject. The present study, however, proposes a different perception of a specific “organization” as a community of residents in a specific territory, empowered organizationally, legally and financially through the municipal government. In such a view, this success and at the same time the result of management should be the quality of life of residents and sustainable development. The purpose of this article is to examine the relationship between municipalities\u27 non-finan-cial capitals and the quality of life in municipalities and to identify the management implications for municipal authorities that result from this relationship. The article carries out a study of selected literature on the subject. The subject of our own research is 30 Polish municipalities of urban-rural, district cities of land districts (10 of low wealth, 10 of medium wealth and 10 of high wealth. As a result of the research, the existence of a very strong correlation between selected measures of human capital and quality of life in municipalities and a strong correlation between selected elements of social capital and quality of life in municipalities was established. The analyses provided new information on the impact of the studied non-financial capitals on the quality of life in municipalities and the formulation of management implications and recommendations for municipalities on this basis
Peer integration of pre-school children through musical activity
No full textArtykuł ma charakter teoretyczny, jest próbą ukazania integracji rówieśniczej dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym poprzez aktywność muzyczną. W tym wieku następuje intensywny rozwój fizyczny, emocjonalny, poznawczy i społeczny. Dziecko, także z niepełnosprawnością, będące częścią grupy społecznej, jaką tworzy zbiorowość przed-szkolna, podejmuje pierwsze próby interakcji z osobami spoza kręgu najbliższych osób poprzez różne formy. Jedną z tych form jest aktywność muzyczna dzieci tj.: śpiew, ruch przy muzyce, gra na instrumentach muzycznych, aktywne słuchanie muzyki, tworzenie muzyki przez dzieci. Odpowiednio zorganizowane i poprowadzone przez nauczyciela aktywności kształcą nie tylko ogólny rozwój dzieci, ale przyczyniają się do budowania pozytywnych relacji między nimi, a także doskonalą ich kompetencje społeczno-komunikacyjne. Stąd tak ważna jest wspólna edukacja dzieci pełnosprawnych z dziećmi z niepełnosprawnością.This article is theoretical in nature, it is an attempt to show the peer integration of preschool children through musical activity. At this age, intensive physical, emo-tional, cognitive and social development takes place. A child, also with a disability, who is part of the social group created by the preschool community, makes the first at-tempts to interact with people outside the circle of closest people through various forms. One of these forms is musical activity of children, i.e.: singing, movement to music, playing musical instruments, active listening to music, creating music by children. Properly organized and led by the teacher, activities shape not only the gene-ral development of children, but also contribute to building positive relationships be-tween them, and also improve their social and communication skills. Hence, joint edu-cation of able-bodied children with children with disabilities is so important
Portrayal of Chinese People and their Chineseness: Contrasting Hollywood Blockbusters with Asian Media Productions
No full textThe Orient is often depicted as a dependent entity whose presentation is framed within a Western perspective. This paper explores the various presentations and perceptions of China, the Chinese, and their sense of Chineseness as shown in Hollywood blockbusters and Asia media productions. Through dissecting the media presentations of Chinese cultural identity, this paper raises the question of the possibility of delinking the East from Western monetary fantasies about the country. To achieve these aims, different genres across the media are discussed to determine whether Chineseness has been commodified. Specifically, would amalgamation of dissimilar Chinese communities appear? Are objective evaluations made in assessing the genuineness of these different Chinese communities while presenting their dissimilarities? Although Hong Kong is a Chinese city, this metropolis has developed unique and hybrid characteristics owing to its historical background as a British colony and financial role as a business hub. This paper investigates whether the exceptional features of Hong Kong and its people as shown from various media products can be differentiated from other Chinese elements
