No full textInternational audienceAcademic freedom is not explicitly protected by the European Convention on Human Rights. The study reviews the absence of any debate on this freedom during the preparatory work, offers some explanations and shows that the Court’s case law has made it possible to remedy this absence in part. The undeniable interpretative dynamism observed in the Court’s case law since the late 1990s has not been accompanied by the recognition of a special status, based on the particularity of academics’ functions. It is argued that such recognition would, however, be justified in the light of developments outside the Convention system, notably within the European Union and, more broadly, in international human rights law.La liberté académique n’est pas explicitement protégée par le texte de la Convention européenne des droits de l’homme. Revenant sur l’absence de débats autour de cette liberté lors des travaux préparatoires, l’étude en propose des explications et montre que la jurisprudence de la Cour a permis de pallier, en partie, cette absence. L’indéniable dynamisme interprétatif observé dans la jurisprudence de la Cour depuis la fin des années 1990 ne s’accompagne pas de la reconnaissance d’un statut particulier, fondé sur la particularité des fonctions des universitaires. Une telle reconnaissance se justifierait pourtant à la lumière des développements survenus en dehors du système de la Convention, notamment au sein de l’Union européenne et, plus largement, dans le droit international des droits humains

La préparation des troupeaux transhumants en pays cévenol
No full textCe module a été réalisé par Dana RAPPOPORT. Il sera l'objet d'un futur article. Il documente, selon une approche pédagogique, les pratiques de préparation des troupeaux transhumants en pays cévenol. Il met l’accent sur les différentes étapes ainsi que le lexique vernaculaire des éleveurs. Les données ont été filmées en 2024 dans trois bergeries du département du Gard (Saumane, Lasalle, Les Barbus), appartenant à trois éleveurs faisant partie du groupement pastoral du troupeau transhumant de Massevaques (48400). Ces pratiques ancestrales, visant à l’embellissement des troupeaux pour la transhumance, se déclinent en cinq actions principales :-La tonte, au mois d’avril, se décline en deux formes : la majorité du troupeau est tondue au rasoir, tandis qu’une petite partie bénéficie d’une tonte décorative (la coutelade), effectuée aux ciseaux. Les tondeurs au rasoir s’occupent de la tonte lisse. En parallèle, le tondeur aux ciseaux, tel un artisan, sculpte la toison en traçant des raies et en sculptant des formes (« roses »), transformant l’animal en véritable œuvre vivante.-Le marquage, au mois de mai, consiste à marquer la croupe des bêtes avec des motifs ou des initiales pour les différencier au sein du grand troupeau transhumant. Alors que le marquage se faisait à la poix, il se fait aujourd’hui à la peinture à l’aide d’un outil appelé pegadou. Des contremarques de différents motifs et de différentes couleurs peuvent être appliqués sur le dos de la bête. -L’emboulage consiste à passer de l’ocre sur les flancs de l’animal et sur la « rose » des bêtes coutelées.-L’esquillage consiste à mettre différents types de cloches (esquilh) fixées à des colliers gravés multicolores, en bois de micocoulier.-L’emplumetage (plumets « pompons ») consiste à attacher plusieurs pompons multicolores sur la toison des bêtes à laines coutelées

No full textInternational audienceThis article examines a sensitive and reciprocal research practice in urbanism combining emotional geography, geography of affects, and a sensitive approach in urbanism. The author relies on a situated and relational research methodology, borrowing artistic approaches, participatory and environmental artistic experiments in Lyon and its outskirts. Through the analysis of sensitive devices, working gestures and a situated research position characterized by a dual approach—that of non-knowledge and an between-several positioning—the author demonstrates that a sensitive and reciprocal research approach not only produces sensitive, alternative, and fair knowledge but also renews scientific writing, research practice, and therefore, urbanism’s methods.El artículo explora una práctica de investigación en urbanismo sensible en reciprocidad quecombina la geografía emocional i de los afectos y un enfoque sensible del urbanismo. Laautora se basa en una metodología de investigación situada y relacional, tomando prestadascon enfoques artísticos, con experimentos artísticos participativos en torno a lo vivo en Lyony su periferia. A través del análisis de dispositivos sensibles, gestos de trabajo, por un lado, yuna posición de investigación situada caracterizada por un doble enfoque, el del no-saber yun posicionamiento dentro-fuera y entre-varios, la autora demuestra que una investigaciónsensible y en reciprocidad no solo permite producir conocimientos sensibles, alternativos eigualitarios, sino también renovar la escritura científica, la práctica de investigación yentonces los métodos en urbanismo.L’article explore une pratique de recherche en urbanisme sensible en réciprocité qui combine géographie par les émotions et des affects avec une approche sensible de l'urbanisme. L’auteure s’appuie sur une méthodologie de recherche située et relationnelle, empruntant des approches artistiques ayant pour terrain des expérimentations artistiques participatives autour du vivant à Lyon et en périphérie. A travers l’analyse de dispositifs sensibles, de gestes de travail d’une part, et d’une position de recherche caractérisée par une double approche, de non-savoir et de positionnement entre-plusieurs, d’autre part, l’auteure montre qu’une recherche sensible et en réciprocité permet non seulement de produire des savoirs sensibles, alternatifs et égalitaires mais aussi de renouveler l’écriture scientifique, la pratique de recherche et de fait, les méthodes en urbanisme
A preliminary overview of the text amulet entitled Śivakavaca: Panel 93 Mantras: Transcultural and Multisensory Perspectives
No full textInternational audienceThe emergence of Dhāraṇī studies has made it possible to highlight and study the textual amulets called dhāraṇī used in Buddhist contexts. On the other hand, textual amulets called kavaca, used in Hindu or Brahmanical contexts, have not been extensively studied or even recorded. Although some are often attributed to tantric works, many claim to be extracts from purāṇas. My preliminary examination of the available sources clearly shows that several manuscripts extracts were widely circulated and that purāṇic kavacas are still used today for protective purposes.This paper is the first step in an incipient research project on purāṇic kavacas, which have not yet been studied in depth. In order to provide a preliminary overview of the variety and the breadth of these sources and to highlight the research questions involved, I will focus on a single type of kavaca: that labelled Śivakavaca. This has been attributed to at least two different purāṇas, the Skandapurāṇa and the Brahmavaivartapurāṇa. This paper will first present a sample of the diversity of sources whose media, dates and places of preservation indicate a long-term practice. This will provide an initial overview of the dissemination and transmission of the Śivakavaca. It will then compare the texts inscribed on the media and the various attributions in order to identify their content. Finally, it will briefly analyze the ritual described, the mantras used in it and the benefits associated with it

No full textInternational audienceUnder the Trump administration, the transatlantic relationship shifted from an asymmetric partnership to strategic domination. Historian Sylvain Kahn, in his latest book Is Atlanticism Dead? Long Live Europe! (L'atlantisme est mort ? Vive l'Europe ! Éditions de l'Aube, 2025, not translated), introduces the concept of "emprism" to describe this subtle yet dangerous grip of the United States over Europe. From Asymmetry to Emprism. For eighty years, Europe maintained an asymmetric yet cooperative relationship with the United States. This imbalance, long accepted as the price of stability and protection, shifted dramatically under Donald Trump. What was once a strategically uneven interdependence became a grip-a bond that cannot be broken, used to exert pressure while being denied by its victims. To describe this transformation, I introduce the concept of "emprism": a consented grip in which Europeans, believing themselves to be partners, become dependent on a power that dominates them without their full awareness
