Zero-sum Random Games on Directed Graphs

    No full text
International audienceThis paper considers a class of two-player zero-sum games on directed graphs whose vertices are equipped with random payoffs of bounded support known by both players. Starting from a fixed vertex, players take turns to move a token along the edges of the graph. On the one hand, for acyclic directed graphs of bounded degree and sub-exponential expansion, we show that the value of the game converges almost surely to a constant at an exponential rate dominated in terms of the expansion. On the other hand, for the infinite dd-ary tree that does not fall into the previous class of graphs, we show convergence at a double-exponential rate in terms of the expansion

    No full text
This thesis examines some statistical estimation and convergence problems for self-excited non-stationary multivariate point processes, with applications to intraday power markets modelling. In a first part, we establish the convergence in a fixed-time infill asymptotic of a likelihood ratio test for the presence of interactions within the coordinates of a multivariate Hawkes process with time-dependent baseline intensity. The convergence of the maximum likelihood estimator (mle) follows as a corollary. The multivariate case is associated with singularities within the asymptotic distribution of the likelihood ratio, which are handled via re-conditioning upon the number of null coordinates among the coordinates of the mle. In a second part, one introduces an additional source of nonstationarity within the model, letting the self-exciting mechanism of the process vary in amplitude throughout its existence. A uniform law of large number and a functional central limit theorem are introduced for the resulting model. The two results extend existing limit theorems, and allow for modelling market behaviour specific to intraday power futures. In addition to volatility variations, the price process is then able to render directional moves in prices under liquidity constraints. This extended model calls for novel statistical procedures, which we deliver in a third part. We consider again maximum likelihood estimation, this time in the conventional asymptotic of an observation with increasing horizon. We propose an associated test for the time invariance of the self-interaction kernel of the process. Application to German intraday power futures limit order book data demonstrates the significance of the time-dependent model proposed in our second part.

Scaling Limit of Critical Percolation Clusters on Hyperbolic Random Half‐Planar Triangulations and the Associated Random Walks

    No full text
International audienceWe show that the Gromov‐Hausdorff‐Prohorov scaling limit of a critical percolation cluster on a random hyperbolic triangulation of the half‐plane is the Brownian continuum random tree. As a corollary, we obtain that a simple random walk on the critical cluster rescales to Brownian motion on the continuum random tree. As an intermediate result, we also obtain the Gromov‐Hausdorff‐Prohorov scaling limit of a general model of two‐type decorated Galton–Watson trees, under an exponential moment condition

Weak conditional propagation of chaos for systems of interacting particles with nearly stable jumps

    No full text
International audienceWe consider a system of NN interacting particles, described by SDEs driven by Poisson random measures, where the coefficients depend on the empirical measure of the system. Every particle jumps with a jump rate depending on its position. When this happens, all the other particles of the system receive a small random kick which is distributed according to a heavy-tailed random variable belonging to the domain of attraction of an αα-stable law and scaled by N1/α,N^{-1/α}, where 0 < α < 2. We call these jumps collateral jumps. Moreover, in case 0 < α < 1, the jumping particle itself undergoes a macroscopic, main jump. Such systems appear in the modeling of large neural networks, such as the human brain. Using a representation of the collateral jump sum as a time-changed random walk, we prove the convergence in law, in Skorokhod space, of this system to a limit infinite-exchangeable system of SDEs driven by a common stable process. This stable process arises due to the stable central limit theorem, and the particles in the limit system are independent and identically distributed, conditionally on that. That is, the NN-particle system exhibits the conditional propagation of chaos property

    Approximately Stable Matching

    No full text
International audienceMany allocation and matching problems (e.g., studentschool assignments, job allocation, organ donation) involve coupling agents based on mutual preferences. A central requirement in matching problems is that of stability, that is classically defined as follows: a matching is stable if no blocking pair exists, where a blocking pair is a pair of agents preferring each other over their assigned partners. We assume that matchings are constrained by a given undirected acceptability graph: two agents may be matched only if they are connected by an edge. While stable matchings are guaranteed for specific graph topologies, such as bipartite graphs, stability is not always achievable in more general scenarios. In this paper, we introduce a relaxed notion of stability, yielding to the study of approximately stable matching. Specifically, we define a matching as approximately stable if there exists no k-blocking pair, i.e., no pair of agents who could both improve their assigned partners by at least k positions in their respective preference rankings, by forming a new match together. This refinement captures the idea that small agent gains may not justify a deviation. We provide some theoretical results about the existence and computability of approximately stable matchings, revealing their strengths as well as their inherent limitations. We believe that the introduced notion of approximate stability, along with our foundational findings, constitute a solid basis for future research on matching problems.</div
