Radial blow-up standing solutions for the semilinear wave equation

    No full text
22 pagesInternational audienceWe consider the semilinear wave equation with a power nonlinearity in the radial case. Given r_0>0, we construct a blow-up solution such that the solution near (r0,T(r0))(r_0,T(r_0)) converges exponentially to a soliton. Moreover, we show that r0r_0 is a non-characteristic point. For that, we translate the question in self-similar variables and use a modulation technique. We will also use energy estimates from the one dimensional case treated by Merle and Zaag. Of course because of the radial setting, we have an additional gradient term which is delicate to handle. That's precisely the purpose of our paper

Searching for archives of "social suffering"? Political life of public archives and administrative realities in interactions: (France, psychiatric archives, 17th-21th centuries)

    No full text
International audienceThe article examines the epistemic possibility of archives of social suffering within public archives and from an archivist's perspective. Public archives are understood in their political reality, with their construction and preservation linked to the materiality of power and governance. Among the shelves of state records, the article focuses on the archives of the first French psychiatric hospital, which archives are taken as a whole system of production of meaning and not isolated sources. The approach is part of an epistemology of archives, often called archival turn, taking the archives for what they are: administrative matters, and the process of archival as a social fact. Articulating institutional and personal, seeking to understand the factual reconciliation of fragments of one's self in administrative documents and not opposing one to the other, this article questions the place of intimate and suffering discourse in the public sphere. From the asylum, the article returns to critical reflection on public archives policies and archives as logistical tools for government knowledge: informed by archival ethics, it asserts that the responsibility for collecting and preserving the private lives of citizens should not be left to the State. The social suffering encountered in public archives would then be equivalent to that of State production, and these archives, restored to their revolutionary definition (1789), would serve as evidence, for better or worse, of its governance

    No full text

Koszul duality for algebras over infinity-operads

    No full text
In this paper, we introduce a new notion of algebra over a linear ∞-operad and a corresponding notion of coalgebra over an ∞-cooperad. We next extend the Koszul duality between linear ∞-operads and linear ∞-cooperads from our previous paper (arXiv:2105.11943) to their categories of algebras and coalgebras. This duality theorem specialises to the known duality in the case of algebras over classical (non-infinity) operads, but our proof is different. In fact, it is based on a much more general duality between presheaves and copresheaves on a category of trees. The latter duality is a priori independent of the (co)algebra structures, but we show that it can be lifted to (co)presheaves supporting such a structure. Based on this duality, we define the homology of an algebra over an ∞-operad, and prove that it can be described in terms of the homology of the same category of trees with coefficients in a presheaf

    No full text

The Conditions for Upgrading: The Role of Multinational Automobile Carmakers in the Governance of Global Value Chains

    No full text
International audienceThis chapter analyses the role of the internationalisation strategies of global automobile manufacturers in the governance of global supply chains and their impact on the economic and social upgrading of the countries concerned. Through the analysis of the 16 main world carmakers between 2000 and 2017, it characterise two opposed models of internationalisation: the global-centralised model where the internationalisation process is pushed by global platforms and standards conceived and controlled by centralised engineering; and the multi-domestic-decentralised model where the internationalisation process is pulled by the greater autonomy given to international subsidiaries in the design and production of low-cost vehicles for emerging markets. The article shows that the centralised global strategy remains today dominant in the automotive industry, but the successful deployment of the multi-domestic decentralised strategy creates better opportunities for functional and social upgrading in emerging countries
