Self-Compassion and Rumination Type Mediate the Relation between Mindfulness and Parental Burnout

    No full text
International audienceAbstract: The COVID-19 lockdown increased the day-to-day challenges faced by parents, and thereby may have increased parental burnout risk. Therefore, identifying parental burnout protection factors is essential. This study aimed to assess the protective role of the following factors which can be increased through mindfulness practice: trait mindfulness, self-compassion, and concrete vs. abstract ruminations. A total of 459 parents (Mage = 40; 98.7% female) completed self reported questionnaires at two-time points to assess the predictive role of mindfulness on parental burnout, self-compassion and rumination type, and the mediating role of self-compassion and rumination type in the relation between mindfulness and parental burnout. Results showed that trait mindfulness, self-compassion, and rumination type at Time 1 predicted levels of parental burnout at Time 2. Self-compassion (indirect effects: b = 22, 95% CI = [38, 05], p < 0.01), concrete ruminations (indirect effects: b = 20, 95% CI = [32, 09], p < 0.001), and abstract ruminations (indirect effects: b = 0.54, 95% CI = [71, 37], p < 0.001) partially mediated the relation between trait-mindfulness and parental burnout. These findings showed that trait mindfulness, self-compassion, and concrete (vs. abstract) ruminations may help prevent parental burnout in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. These results contribute to the field of research on parental burnout prevention and will allow for the development of effective approaches to mental health promotion in parents

    No full text

Streams of digital data and competitive advantage: The mediation effects of process efficiency and product effectiveness

    No full text
International audienceFirms can achieve a competitive advantage by leveraging real-time Digital Data Streams (DDSs). The ability to profit from DDSs is emerging as a critical competency for firms and a novel area for Information Technology (IT) investments. We examine the relationship between DDS readiness and competitive advantage by studying the mediation effect of product effectiveness and process efficiency. The research model is tested with data obtained from 302 companies, and the results confirm the existence of the mediation effects. Interestingly, we confirm that competitive advantage is more significantly impacted by IT investments affecting product effectiveness than those affecting process efficienc

    No full text
A large majority of French companies have implemented a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy over the last twenty years, but little attention has been paid to their territorial responsibility. The Pacte law of 2019 now provides a framework for companies to question their raison d’être. This could present an opportunity for companies to question their territorial raison d’être, specifically. The article emphasizes the importance of the territorial dimension in order to avoid the instrumentalization of the Pacte law. To give substance to the territorial raison d’être, we suggest four avenues of work : 1) to evaluate territorial social utility ; 2) to follow the geographical distribution of monetary flows ; 3) to apprehend the ecological footprint of the value chain ; 4) to take into account social interdependencies and inequalities.

    No full text

Ecosystem creation under high uncertainty – a longitudinal analysis of the alignment process

    No full text
International audienceSustainability-oriented innovation increasingly materializes through business ecosystem. To create value, business ecosystems rely on complementary inputs made by interconnected, yet independent actors. Ecosystem research has highlighted the role of the central actor (aka keystone) to coordinate the different interdependent actors. It also discusses tensions that the keystone has to deal with in order to reach alignment. Research often focuses on business ecosystems that are based on digital platforms. These ecosystems are characterised by a high flexibility and adaptive capacity. Little research looked at business ecosystems that are based on technological infrastructure that are asset-heavy and prone to technological lock-in. This article proposes to analyse how alignment is reached and maintained in ecosystems that require the development of an asset-heavy technological infrastructure. We inquiry into which are the tensions inherent to asset-heavy ecosystems and how these tensions are tackled. We do that by conducting a longitudinal analysis of a business ecosystem aiming to deploy an infrastructure of green hydrogen refuelling stations in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, France. Analysis is based on 34 interviews conducted over an 18 month period. The paper contributes to the growing literature on business ecosystems. Results show that reaching and maintaining alignment requires being able to cope with three tensions and discuss eight strategies that the keystone mobilised to do so. We associate each of these tensions to different key moments of ecosystem formation
