A study on Fumiko Kaneko in Kim Byeol-ah’s “Netsuai”（Japanese translation “The Tokiwa Tree”）
Get PDFThe special feature of Fumiko Kaneko in Kim Byeol-ah’s “The Tokiwa Tree” is that she lives with Park Yeol and writes it as a love story between the two. Also, Fumiko’s experience of sexual violence strengthened her desire to live. Also, Chekhov’s novel“The Bet” is used to understand Fumiko’s death. Furthermore, Kim Byeol-ah focuses on Fumiko’s gender-free ideology, which calls for interacting with people as human beings, transcending gender. However, I do not agree with her content that Kim did not write about the influence of the nihilistic ideas of Artzibasev and Stirner, and that Fumiko was seeking the immortality of her soul.
