This audio recording features a Mother's Day church service at Central United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The service proceedings include songs, prayers, and a sermon delivered by Joseph E. Lowery (at 00:17:44). In his sermon, Lowery explores the idea of there being "power in the home". Lowery discusses how the home environment and family (mother, father, grandparents, foster parents, neighbors) are the influences that mold and shape the lives of children. This audio recording features a church service at Central United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. The service proceedings include songs, prayers, and a sermon delivered by Joseph E. Lowery (at 00:16:22). In his sermon, Lowery speaks about the story of David and Goliath as found in 1 Samuel 17. From this story, Lowery emphasizes that the basis of all power held by man comes from God. At 00:45:50, a switch in audio occurs to a separate recording, mostly quiet with the sound of radio or TV in the background.
