This presentation gives a short history of the Voter Education Project (VEP) from its inception in 1962 to the late 1970s. The organization had a mission to register all Black citizens of the South and educate Black southerners on how to uphold their civic duty. The presentation will also provide a look into my internship experience, the digitization process, and the lessons I learned over the past 12 weeks working with the aforementioned collection
