Get PDFThis paper focuses on a review of Nigerian women's political activity, particularly their aspiration for government office, grassroots mobilization, and interaction with the state. The influence of variables such as colonialism, modernization, development, and patriarchy on women's political involvement are also investigated. This analysis begins with a historical overview emphasizing the precolonial, colonial, and post-colonial periods. Finally, the different manifestations of women's political activity are analyzed and I offer some insight into the effectiveness of these activities

Get PDFThis is an exploratory study of growing up in a single parent, impoverished environment and the impact it has on the success of African-American women in the state of Georgia. The practical significance of this study is to explore the underlying contributing factors of low academic and career success rates, and dependency on government support of young African-American women. A cross-sectional survey design was used to evaluate the effects of the independent variables on African-American women. The research design allowed for the use of a descriptive analysis of the demographic profile of the research participants and for the explanation of the negative effect of growing up in a single parent, impoverished home on the success of African-American women. The results of this study showed that there is no negative effect of growing up in a single parent, impoverished environment on the success of African-American women in the state of Georgia

No full textThe fundamental goal, in preparing this thesis, is two-fold. First, the author shows the systematic development of the basic theory of Dynamic Programming. Secondly, the author demonstrates the applicability of this theory in the actual problem solving of Dynamic Programming. A very careful balance has been maintained in the setting of the theory and in its applicability of solving problems. Basic theory has been established and expanded systematically and explained vividly. However, it is short and precise. Nevertheless, it presents the tools to handle highly complex problems in Dynamic Programming. Also, the theory is used to prove a general case of an N-stage optimization which demonstrates the sufficiency and capability of the theory
