Rabbi Jacob Rothschild (1911-1973) served as rabbi for the Hebrew Benevolent Congregation, Atlantas oldest and most prominent Jewish synagogue. Throughout his rabbinate, Rothschild brought together members of the citys Christian clergy and was an avid spokesperson for civil rights. In this audio recording, Rothschild discusses the importance of the church during a time of civil and social upheaval. He stresses how imperative it is for the church to fight through the unrest to remain the area of serenity and be the place the world can run to for peace
