    The Moderating Effect of Job-Embeddedness on the Relationships between Organizational Socialization and Job Performance and between Organizational Socialization and Employee Well-Being

         Organizational socialization and job-embeddedness are among the tools and interventions that have long been used by practitioners to help newcomers better adjust to corporate culture and to increase employees’ retention. This study examines the relationships between organizational socialization and the employee’s performance and between organizational socialization and the well-being of salespersons Thailand. Specifically, it aims to explore the moderating effect of job-embeddedness on those relationships. Understanding the relationships and the moderating effect of the variables as mentioned above can provide corporates with deeper insights into how to enhance employees’ productivity and capability. Data were collected from 422 salespersons of consumer products, cosmetics, consumer real estate, and whole sale pharmaceutical companies in Thailand. The data analyses showed statistically significant and positive relationships between organizational socialization and employee’s performance and between organizational socialization and the employee’s well-being. The analysis also indicated the moderating effect of job-embeddedness on the relationship between organizational socialization and the employee’s performance, but not on the relationship between organizational socialization and well-being.     Effects of Surface Soil Temperature on Cassava Physiology under Different Water Regimes

         The effect of surface soil temperature on cassava physiological characteristics under different water regimes was studied. The aim of this research was to study the relationship between the surface soil temperature and cassava physiological characteristics under irrigated and non-irrigated conditions. The field experiment plots were conducted in Khon Kaen province. The surface soil temperatures and plant physiology during the three to five months after growing were measured using infrared thermography and Licor 6400XT, respectively. The data were then compared and correlated between different water regimes. The results showed that the surface soil temperature of the non-irrigated plot was higher than the irrigated plot. A negative correlation was observed among surface soil temperature, net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance and transpiration rate. However, the positive correlation between the surface soil temperature, the air vapor pressure deficit and the leaf temperature were detected. The critical of surface soil temperature affected to the cassava physiological characteristics was at about 30°C. When the surface soil temperature increased more than 30°C, the air vapor pressure deficit and the leaf temperature increased, while the net photosynthesis, stomata conductance and transpiration rate were gradually decreasing. Therefore, the surface soil temperature was an important factor affecting cassava physiology and growth development. Water and soil management, therefore could reduce surface soil temperature in hot season and leading to good growth development and yield increasing.     Walking through a Successful Life: A Case Study

         This study assessed the stages of life experienced by a famous and successful individual to gather information as to perception of success and its contribution to development. It used the qualitative case study on an individual above the age of 60 who was recognized due to her achievements in her field. Details of the life story were gathered through one-on-one interview and used holistic analysis of the whole case towards a theory-building report. The themes identified were: Success as a way of life, Contributing to others’ success, and, A Walk into a Life of Success, with subthemes: A Playful but Noiseless; Childhood Teenage Confusion as Prelude to Real Life; Preliminary Structures of Adult Life; Immersion into the Life of Success; Death as Accidental Motivator; and Late Life Family Triumphs. Walking back into the life of a successful individual provided a chance to review not only the definitions of success but also the process of achieving success.     The Development and Comparing the Performance of Temporal Fuzzy Neural Network Technique and Temporal Fuzzy Decision Trees Case Study of Suitable Thai Elderly Tourists

         The purpose of this research is to present a solution to change the value of the temporal fuzzy attribute. A model with data mining technique was developed to solve the problems involved with an effect to the suitability of the decision making of Thai elderly in various tourist destinations in Thailand. This model based on the import factors with the crisp value and fuzzy linguistic term. A temporal fuzzy database system with a design in the Conceptual Meta Schema was applied to collect information in the form of temporal fuzzy attributes. Moreover, this model used a temporal fuzzy attribute matching technique, which consists of the first format of the crisp and fuzzy linguistic term, and the second pattern of the fuzzy linguistic term, and the fuzzy linguistic term expression. The replica models developed between the Temporal Fuzzy Neural Network (TFNN) and the Temporal Fuzzy Decision Tree (TFDT), were compared. The result shown that performance values of the TFNN model was the most valuable, with accuracy value, precision value, recall value and f-measure at 88.9%, 79.0%, 88.9% and 83.7%, respectively. The TFNN model was a structure of 24-3-2, with momentum 0.2, and the learning rate value 0.3. This model provided a form of learning and testing cross-validation folds = 5.     Do Environmental Factors Influence the Distributions and Diversity of Tropical Macroinvertebrate Assemblages?: A Case Study of Mae Taeng River Basin, Northern Thailand

         Biodiversity loss caused by environmental changes has been increased year by year. The aquatic ecosystems have been impacted as habitats are modified, most likely by human activities. Few studies have examined how biological assemblages at different spatial scales are determined by environmental gradients. We aim to understand the influence of environmental factors on the distribution and diversity of macroinvertebrates in Northern Thailand. A total of 21,391 individuals belonging to 79 families in 15 orders were identified. The order Diptera is one of the most abundant taxa in this study (family Chironomidae). The cluster analysis of macroinvertebrates and environmental factors clearly divides the areas into two groups of disturbed (downstream) and undisturbed (headstream) stations. CCA results revealed that the turbidity, conductivity and BOD are the most important factors that could influence macroinvertebrate assemblages in this study. The results also provided the basic information about the ecological status as monitored by the distribution of organisms in aquatic systems. However, it is necessary to increase data reliability by continuing to monitor other biological communities in the long-term in order to define adequate strategies for diagnosing the integrity of stream ecosystems.     Effect of Paclobutrazol on Growth and Development of Curcuma alismatifolia Gagnep. Grown Off-season

         A study on the effects of paclobutrazol on growth and development of C. alismatifolia Gagnep. grown in the off-season was conducted on an open field. A comparison was done between plants grown under sunlight plus 2 hrs. extra night light without paclobutrazol (Control 1) and plants grown under sunlight source without paclobutrazol (Control 2). This experiment was done by a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 10 replications (10 plants/ replication). The results demonstrated that plants grown with paclobutrazol treatments were significantly affected in both height and peduncle length. The 600 mg/L paclobutrazol treatment was non-significant difference in terms of leaf area, chlorophyll content in leaf, non-structural carbohydrate content in rhizome, pseudo-stem, peduncle and inflorescence, and anthocyanin content in coma bract compared to control 1. Earliest flowering parameters; the day to inflorescence apparent (day 47.2) and first flower opening (day 47.2) were found in plants grown under sunlight + 2 hours night-break without paclobutrazol. The most delay inflorescence apparent (day 62.9) and first flower opening (day 94.1) were recorded under sunlight source without paclobutrazol.
