No full textResumo: A partir do diálogo entre o livro A obscena senhora D, de Hilda Hilst, e os livros Totem e tabu e A interpretação dos sonhos, de Sigmund Freud, este artigo analisa três questões fundamentais para a estrutura narrativa do texto hilstiano acima destacado: primeira, a presença do totemismo na composição de uma imagem de Deus correlacionada à figura do animal porco; segunda, a morte possível de Deus, a sua (não) presença; e, por fim, a ideia do umbigo, que é visto ora como marca de uma hereditariedade perdida, ora como revelação do desconhecido, ora como materialidade do corpo, como algo que se pode tocar.Palavras-chave: Hilda Hilst; Sigmund Freud; totem; Deus; umbigo.Abstract: Considering the dialogue between Hilda Hilst’s The Obscene Madame D and Sigmund Freud’s Totem and Taboo and The Interpretation of Dreams, this article analyzes three fundamental issues of the narrative structure of Hilst’s aforementioned text: first, the presence of totemism in the composition of an image of God correlated to the figure of a pig; second, the possible death of God and his (non-) presence; and, lastly, the idea of the belly button, which is sometimes seen as a mark of a lost heredity, sometimes as revelation of the unknown, sometimes as the materiality of the body, something that can be touched.Keywords: Hilda Hilst; Sigmund Freud; totem; God; belly button
A toponímia de origem tupi na Região Geográfica Intermediária de Rio Verde (GO) / The toponymy of Tupi origin in the Intermediate Geographical Region of Rio Verde (GO)
No full textResumo: Neste estudo, objetivou-se analisar a toponímia indígena de acidentes físicos de nove municípios da Região Geográfica Intermediária de Rio Verde (GO). Ao orientar-se por princípios teóricos e metodológicos da Toponímia, estabeleceram-se os seguintes objetivos específicos: i) verificar a etimologia e os significados dos itens lexicais que passaram a exercer a função de topônimos, como forma de buscar a motivação semântica dessas unidades e classificá-las conforme o modelo taxionômico de Dick (1990a); ii)descrever os dados em termos de produtividade no universo estudado e a estrutura morfológica; iii) comparar os nomes indígenas da região goiana com os do sul de Mato Grosso do Sul, com a intenção de averiguar se a influência de línguas indígenas é a mesma em regiões onde há comunidades autóctones atualmente. A análise demonstrou que os topônimos são, em sua maioria, motivados por elementos da vegetação e da fauna regional. O cotejamento dos dados evidenciou que topônimos de origem Tupi estão nasduas áreas comparadas. Em Mato Grosso do Sul, entretanto, a atual presença de povos indígenas confere à toponímia local características distintas, ou seja, as línguas ainda faladas por essa população interferem diretamente na toponímia da região.Palavras-chave: Toponímia indígena; Acidentes físicos; Região GeográficaIntermediária de Rio Verde/GO.Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the indigenous toponymy of physical accidents in nine municipalities in the Intermediate Geographical Region of Rio Verde (GO). By being guided by theoretical and methodological principles of Toponymy, the following specific objectives were established: (i) to verify the etymology and the meanings of the lexical items that came to exercise the function of toponyms, as a way to seek the semantic motivation of these units and classify them according to Dick’s taxonomic model (1990a); (ii) to describe the data in terms of productivity in the studied universe and the morphological structure; (iii) to compare the indigenous names of the Goiásregion with those of the south of Mato Grosso do Sul, with the intention of ascertaining whether the influence of indigenous languages is the same in regions where there are indigenous communities today. The analysis showed that the toponyms are mostly motivated by elements of the vegetation and the regional fauna. The comparison of the data showed that toponyms of Tupi origin are found in both compared areas. No full textResumo: Esse artigo tem os seguintes objetivos: a) apresentar uma reflexão sobre as contribuições da pesquisa sociolinguística que vem sendo desenvolvida sobre percepção/processamento da variação com base em dados experimentais, focalizando especificamente resultados de estudos voltados para a organização cognitiva da variação no conhecimento linguístico de adultos e crianças, para o efeito, na percepção, de condicionamentos verificados em dados de produção, e também resultados de estudos voltados para o efeito da mudança em progresso na percepção da variação pela comunidade de fala; b) refletir sobre resultados que, a princípio, não replicaram condicionamentos observados em estudos com dados de produção e servem de base para a discussão dos desafios da pesquisa experimental sobre a variação sociolinguística. Nossas considerações se baseiam em um conjunto de estudos delimitado para os objetivos deste artigo, buscando situar esse campo de estudos da Sociolinguística que vem se ampliado neste século. Tomamos como ponto de partida a premissa teórica da Sociolinguística de que a variação é inerente ao conhecimento linguístico internalizado. Argumentamos que o estudo do processamento da variação precisa considerar, em seus protocolos experimentais, a hipótese da atuação conjunta de fatores linguísticos, sociais e cognitivos, como no “princípio de causas múltiplas” de Young e Bayley (1996, p. 253-254), retomado em Bayley (2002, p. 118-120), um desafio para a pesquisa experimental, que precisa isolar e controlar fatores de diferentes tipos que coocorrem e competem na gramática do indivíduo e na da comunidade de fala, seja considerando o ponto de vista do falante ou do ouvinte.Palavras-chave: variação linguística; processamento; percepção; cognição; Sociolinguística.Abstract: This article has the following goals: a) to reflect on the contributions of the sociolinguistic research that has been developed on the perception/processing of linguistic variation based on experimental data, focusing specifically on the results of studies directed to the cognitive organization of variation in the linguistic knowledge of adults and children, to the effect, on the perception, of constraints verified in production data, and results of studies focused on the effect of the process of change in progress in the perception of the variation by the speech community as well; b) to reflect on the results of studies that, in principle, did not replicate linguistic and social constraints observed in studies with production data and that serve as a basis for the discussion about the challenges of experimental research on variation. Our considerations are based on a set of studies delimited for the purposes of this article, to situate this field of Sociolinguistic studies that has been expanded in this century. We take as a starting point the theoretical premise of Sociolinguistics that variation is inherent to internalized linguistic knowledge. We argue that the study of the processing of variation needs to consider, in its experimental protocols, the hypothesis of the joint action of linguistic, social and cognitive factors, as in Young & Bayley’s (1996, p. 253-254) “principle of multiple causes”, resumed in Bayley (2002, p. 118-120), a challenge for the experimental research, which needs to isolate and control different types of factors that co-occur and compete in the grammar of the individual and the speech community in different interactional context, whether considering the speaker’s or the listener’s point of view.Keywords: linguistic variation; processing; perception; cognition; Sociolinguistics
Processamento da variação linguística: desafios para integrar aquisição, diversidade e compreensão em um modelo de língua / Processing linguistic variation: challenges of building a comprehensive model for acquisition, diversity and comprehension
No full textResumo: O processamento da variação linguística é um campo de interface que envolve a sociolinguística, a psicolinguística e as ciências neurocognitivas. Com o objetivo de contribuir para a descrição de como se dá o processamento e a aquisição de input variável considerando as pressões dos efeitos sociais, este dossiê temático reúne 14 estudos que apresentam contribuições em perspectiva descritiva observacional e experimental de fenômenos variáveis morfossintáticos, como concordância, flexão de gênero, imperativo gramatical e orações relativas, bem como de fenômenos no nível da consciência social e de ideologias linguísticas relacionados ao tabu, preconceito e atitudes em relação a línguas. Os resultados dos estudos apontam caminhos que ampliam as abordagens teórico-metodológicas até então envolvidas, especialmente as relacionadas ao modo de conciliar o controle exigido em pesquisa experimental com o paradoxo do observador da sociolinguística, mas ainda esbarram nas limitações decorrentes da tecnologia disponível e do entendimento de um modelo de língua que envolva diversidade e estrutura.Palavras-chave: processamento de variedade linguística, percepção de variedade, psicolinguística, sociolinguísticaAbstract: The study of the processing of linguistic variation is an interdisciplinary enterprise involving sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics and cognitive neuroscience. In order to contribute to descriptive and explanatory accounts regarding the processing and acquisition of variable input, considering the effects of external social pressure, this thematic volume presents 14 papers. The studies contribute to observational and experimental approaches exploring a variety of topics: morphosyntactic phenomena, such as verbal and nominal agreement, grammatical gender inflection, grammatical imperative and relative clauses, as well phenomena at the level of social conscience and linguistic ideologies regarding taboo, prejudice and attitudes towards, especially, minority languages. The results of these studies show the way to broaden existing methodological-theoretic approaches, especially those that seek to reconcile the strictly controlled nature of experimental paradigms and stimuli with the observer’s paradox as defined by sociolinguistics. This endeavor is complex and requires overcoming technological limitations and the current difficulty of theoretical models in dealing with language variability and structure.Keywords: processing of language variation, language regard, psicolinguistics, sociolinguistic

Para além disso, analisa-se A vida e a obra de Florbela Espanca como o livro em que a biógrafa define os seus critérios deste gênero literário. Pondera-se até que ponto a escritora biógrafa se confunde com a romancista e a crítica de arte num novo conceito de ekfrase que tanto se exercita na página como na tela, sendo a noção de atelier comum às artistas e à escritora.Palavras-chave: ekphrasis; Maria Helena Vieira da Silva; Paula Rego; Graça Morais; Florbela Espanca.Abstract: We professto studie the way how the novelist Agustina Bessa-Luís places the notion of “sister” at the center of her relationship with the visual work she accompanies, and the artists Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Paula Rego and Graça Morais. We analise A vida e a obra de Florbela Espanca as the book where the boiographer defines her standard of this literary gender.
