No full textResumo: Neste artigo, analisamos o romance Fanny Owen (1992), de Agustina Bessa-Luís, a partir do conceito de romance de leitura. A expressão “romance de leitura” (Lektüreroman) foi cunhada pelo teórico alemão Volker Roloff. Grosso modo, é o romance que tem por tema a leitura – “roman sur lê theme de la lecture”. Trata-se, portanto, do romance em que os personagens se deixam envolver pela leitura de obras ficcionais a ponto de terem suas condutas ou seus caracteres alterados, ou mesmo a ponto de se tornarem mais e mais dependentes da ficção e, desta forma, menos propensos a se adaptar à realidade. Fanny Owen dá tratamento ficcional a fatos biográficos relativos a personalidades históricas, principalmente o escritor Camilo Castelo Branco, seu amigo José Augusto Pinto de Magalhães e a Fanny Owen, filha do coronel britânico Hugh Owen, que havia tido um papel relativamente importante na Guerra Civil Portuguesa (1828–1834). No romance de leitura, a leitura de literatura pelos personagens aparece com destaque na trama, a ponto de ser um elemento estruturador da narrativa. Fanny Owen pode, assim, ser classificado como um romance de leitura já que os personagens principais são influenciados pela literatura romântica que leem. Palavras-chave: Fanny Owen; Agustina Bessa-Luís; romance de leitura; leitura; leitor.Abstract: In this work, we analyze the novel Fanny Owen (1992), by Agustina Bessa-Luís, based on the concept of novel of reading. The expression “novel of reading” (Lektüreroman) was created by the German theorist Volker Roloff. It is the novel whose theme is reading – “roman sur lê theme de la lecture”. It is, therefore, the novel in which fictional characters become modified, or more and more dependent on so dependent on fiction that they cannot adapt to reality. Fanny Owen gives a fictional treatment to biographical facts related to historical personalities, mainly the writer Camilo Castelo Branco, his friend José Augusto Pinto de Magalhães and Fanny Owen, daughter of British colonel Hugh Owen, who had played a relatively important role in the Portuguese Civil War (1828–1834). In the novel of reading, the characters’ reading of literature appears prominently in the plot, to the point of reading being a structuring element of the narrative. No full textResumo: Desde sua origem, o caminhar enquanto prática estética está estritamente ligado à ociosidade, e essa característica permite o privilégio de realizá-lo através do ritmo da errância. Essa prática tem um elo muito forte, sobretudo, com a produção simbólica humana, desde os primórdios. Assim, enquadra-se em uma atitude simbólica e libertadora para o caminhante. Neste trabalho, almejamos analisar como a soma de metáforas, de onde emerge todo o significado da modernidade histórica baudelairiana, materializada na alegoria do Cisne enquanto poeta e exilado em seu próprio tempo, se apresenta no poema Le Cygne (“O Cisne”) publicado na seção Tableaux Parisiens da segunda edição de Fleurs du mal em 1861 à luz da interpretação de Benjamin (1984, 2009, 2019) e Hanson (2006) sobre alegorias e dos estudos de Hazan (2017) sobre a transformação urbana de Paris no século XIX.Palavras-chave: Caminhada; Baudelaire; Flânerie; Errância; Modernidade; Alegoria.Abstract: Since its origin, walking as an aesthetic practice has been strictly linked to idleness, and this characteristic allows the privilege of doing it through the rhythm of wandering. This practice has a very strong link, above all, with human symbolic production since the beginning. Thus, it fits into a symbolic and liberating attitude for the walker. In this work, we aim to analyze how the sum of metaphors, from which the whole meaning of Baudelaire’s historical modernity emerges, materialized in the allegory of the Swan as a poet and exiled in his own time, is presented in the poem Le Cygne (“The Swan”) published in Tableaux Parisiens section of the second edition of Fleurs du mal in 1861 in the light of Benjamin’s (1984, 2009, 2019) and Hanson’s (2006) interpretation of allegories and of Hazan’s (2017) studies on the urban transformation of Paris in the 19th century.Keywords: Walk; Baudelaire; Flânerie; Wanderlust; Modernity; Allegory
O estilo na crítica textual: domínios de aplicação e a questão da variação linguística / Style in textual criticism: application domains and the issue of linguistic variation
No full textResumo: O presente trabalho tem como objetivo discutir o papel do estilo na crítica textual, enfocando especialmente seus domínios de aplicação e a questão da variação linguística. Há dois momentos em que o estilo é utilizado como critério para resolução de tarefa: na transcrição de testemunhos e na seleção de variantes. Uma das grandes dificuldades para a aplicação do critério do estilo na seleção de variantes está relacionada à variação linguística. Com base na discussão realizada, defendeu-se que, para operacionalizar a aplicação desse critério em casos de variação linguística, é pertinente considerar a frequência das variantes, o que significa ser necessário conjugar uma abordagem qualitativa com quantitativa.Palavras-chave: Crítica Textual; Paleografia; Variação Linguística; Estilística.Abstract: The present work aims to discuss the role of style in textual criticism, focusing especially on its domains of application and the issue of linguistic variation. There are two moments in which style is used as a criterion for task resolution: in the transcription of testimonies and in the selection of variants. One of the major difficulties in applying the criterion of style in the selection of variants is related to linguistic variation. Based on the discussion carried out, it was argued that, in order to operationalize the application of this criterion in cases of linguistic variation, it is pertinent to consider the frequency of variants, what it means to combine a qualitative and quantitative approach.Keywords: Textual Criticism; Paleography; Linguistic Variation; Stylistics

No full textRESUMO: O objetivo deste trabalho é mapear o contexto profissional do professor de Português Língua Estrangeira na Região Metropolitana de Campinas (RMC), analisando os contornos geopolíticos que incidem na gestão democrática de um curso de formação inicial. Por meio de uma cartografia de caráter exploratório, seleciono e organizo agrupamentos de dados que consideram aspectos da demografia migratória na RMC, documentos oficiais e projetos pedagógicos de cursos, assim como outros conjuntos de dados recortados por meio de uma investigação de caráter bibliográfico. Tendo por base esses conjuntos de dados, procurei destacar movimentos potencialmente relevantes, em diálogo com a perspectiva da gestão democrática, os quais propiciassem uma visão de futuro ao docente em Português Língua Estrangeira.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Português Língua Estrangeira; formação inicial; gestão democrática; Região Metropolitana de Campinas.ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to investigate the professional context of Portuguese as a foreign language teachers at Região Metropolitana de Campinas (RMC) through an analysis of geopolitical outlines which concern on democratic management of an initial education undergraduate course. Based on an exploratory cartography, I intended to select and organize data groups considering migration demographic aspects at RMC, official documents and pedagogical projects as well as other data compilation through bibliographical research. Ethnic Language Use and Ethnic Identity of University Students in Malaysia
No full textAbstract: The study examined the extent to which ethnic language use is influenced by strength of ethnic identity among university students in Malaysia. In the study, 100 university students from Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous ethnic backgrounds filled in a questionnaire on language use in six domains, and their ethnic identity was measured using Multigroup Ethnic Identity Measure (MEIM). English and Malay dominated in the mass media and education domains, and in intergroup and formal interactions, but ethnic languages were mainly used with family, friends and for religious practices. The results showed a moderate level of ethnic language use among the Malay (58.37%) and Chinese participants (59.21%), and a lower level among the Indigenous (49.55%) and Indian participants (42.11%). All four ethnic groups showed a positive ethnic identity. There is a significant positive relationship between the extent of ethnic language use and the strength of ethnic identity.Keywords: plural society; ethnic language; language use; ethnic identity; Multigroup Ethnic Identity Measur

No full textResumo: Este artigo é um experimento comparativo entre a análise de Sigmund Freud sobre a Gradiva do escritor alemão Wilhelm Jensen e Dom Casmurro de Machado de Assis. Com base na temporalidade da fantasia, em que um evento presente aciona uma lembrança passada e projeta uma produção futura, visa encontrar os pontos de encontro entre os dois textos, a fim de refletir sobre proximidades entre os destinos dos heróis. Neste passo buscará sustentar a hipótese de que, apesar da dúvida e incertezas sobre a traição, Capitu pode ser lida como a Gradiva de Bentinho e, por desvio, a grávida de Casmurro.Palavras-chave: Machado de Assis; Sigmund Freud; Gradiva; Dom Casmurro.Abstract: This article is a comparative experimente between Sigmund Freud’s analysis of the Gradiva of the German writer Wilhelm Jensen and Dom Casmurro de Machado de Assis. Based on the temporality of the fantasy, in which a present event triggers a past memory and projects a future production, it aims to find the meeting points between the two texts in order to reflect on the proximity between the destinies of the heroes. In the step he will seek to support the hypothesis that, despite the doubt and uncertainties about the betrayal, Capitu can be read as the Gradiva de Bentinho and, by detour, Casmurro’s pregnant.Keywords: Machado de Assis. Uma leitura moderada da Revista da Sociedade Philomathica / A Moderate Reading of the Revista da Sociedade Philomatica
No full textResumo: Este trabalho pretende apontar uma nova maneira de interpretar as propostas estéticas da Revista da Sociedade Philomathica (1833), órgão de divulgação da Sociedade Filomática da Academia de Direito de São Paulo, não a partir de uma perspectiva proto-romântica e ultranacionalista, como quis a historiografia literária do século XX, mas de um ponto de vista deliberadamente moderador. Pretende-se mostrar que a Philomathica, em todos os assuntos que lhe diziam respeito (literatura, filosofia, política), tendia a assumir uma postura eclética, avessa às opiniões extremadas e perfeitamente alinhada ao projeto político-cultural de outros periódicos contemporâneos como a Aurora Fluminense e O Homem e a América, jornais ligados à Sociedade Defensora da Liberdade e Independência Nacional, associação que comungava várias personalidades importantes da vida política na corte, e de onde manaria o influxo literário que deu origem a nosso romantismo moderado.Palavras-chave: Sociedade Filomática; romantismo; língua brasileira; Evaristo da Veiga.Abstract: This work intends to point out a new manner of interpreting the aesthetic proposals of the Revista da Sociedade Philomathica (1833), a periodical publication organized by the Philomatic Society of the Law Academy of São Paulo, not from a proto-romantic and ultranationalist perspective, as 20th century literary historiography wanted, but from a deliberately moderating point of view. It is intended to show that the Philomathica, towards all its subjects (literature, philosophy, politics), tended to assume an eclectic posture, averse to extreme opinions and perfectly aligned with the political-cultural project of other contemporary periodicals such as Aurora Fluminense and O Homem e a América, magazines linked to the Sociedade Defensora da Liberdade e Independência Nacional, an association that assembled several important personalities of political life at the court, and from which would flow the literary influx that gave rise to our moderate romanticism.Keywords: Philomatic Society; romanticism; Brazilian language; Evaristo da Veiga
A oralidade no gênero dramático apresentada no material didático escolar// Orality in the dramatic genre presented in school teaching material
No full textResumo: O presente artigo apresenta os resultados iniciais de uma pesquisa de mestrado que possui o intuito de analisar a forma pela qual a oralidade no gênero dramático é abordada no material didático do 7º ano do Ensino Fundamental da cidade Estância Hidromineral de Poá, São Paulo. Para tanto, utilizamos como corpus o material didático do ano mencionado, elaborado pela editora Aprende Brasil e adotado pelo município. Para que as discussões aqui apresentadas possam ser compreendidas da melhor maneira possível, seguimos o seguinte trajeto: contextualização histórica sobre o material didático e sua inserção no ambiente escolar; descrição e análise das atividades voltadas para o gênero dramático, contidas no material selecionado; e por fim, sugestão de atividade com o gênero aqui estudado. Concluímos que o material didático não privilegia a oralidade nas atividades propostas, por esta razão propusemos uma sequência de atividades que complementem as apresentadas.Palavras-chave: gênero dramático; teatro; material didático; Ensino Fundamental; Língua Portuguesa.Abstract: The article presents as the initials of a master’s research that aims to analyze the way in which orality in the dramatic genre is approached in the didactic material of the 7th year of Elementary School in the city of Estância Hidromineral de Poá, São Paulo. For that, we used the didactic manual of the corpus as mentioned, prepared by the publisher Aprende Brasil and adopted by the municipality. So that, as the disc presented, there are possible continuations understood here in the best possible way, we follow the path to follow: contextualization about the didactic environment and its school insertion; description and analysis of the activities carried out for the dramatic genre, contained in the selected material; and finally suggestion of activity with the genre studied here. We conclude that the didactic material does not privilege orality in the proposed activities, for this reason we propose a sequence of activities that complement each other as presented in the manual.Keywords: genre dramatic; theater; educacional material; Elementary School; Portuguese Language
