Grécka a rímska antika spolu s antickými mýtmi predstavujú dôležitú súčasť európskeho dedičstva so všetkými dynamickými aspektmi, ktoré tento pojem v sebe nesie. Ide o diskurzívnu prax, ktorá má silný potenciál vyberať a používať niečo z minulosti s cieľom vytvárať významy v súčasnosti. Táto práca sa zameria na Pasoliniho film Edipo Re (1967) a jeho umeleckú aplikáciu Freudovej teórie na antický mýtus, čo otvára množstvo otázok dôležitých pre kontextualizáciu a používanie mýtu v antickom aj súčasnom kontexte.Greek and Roman antiquity together with the ancient myths represent important part of European heritage, with all the dynamic aspects that this term bears. It goes about discursive practice that has powerful potential for choosing and using something from the past in order to produce meanings in presence. The focus of this paper will be film by Pasolini Edipo Re (1967) and his artistic application of Freud’s theory to the ancient myth, which opens numerous questions important for the contextualisation and usage of myth both in ancient as well as in contemporary context

Štúdia skúma úlohu dedičných kníh [Heimatbücher], ktoré uchovávajú spomienky a špecifické historické príbehy násilne vysídlených karpatských Nemcov z Dolného Spiša, pri formovaní kolektívnej pamäti a identity miestnej komunity v jednej z ich bývalých dedín. Na základe teórie kultúrnej pamäte Jana a Aleidy Assmannových (2001; 2006) a etnografického výskumu uskutočneného v roku 2020 predbežné zistenia naznačujú, že obsah týchto kníh je zámerne vybraný s cieľom pripomínať si spomienky na založenie a biografické spomienky, a tým podporovať pretrvávanie skupinovej identity a historického povedomia medzi miestnym obyvateľstvom. Okrem toho, knihy o dedičstve nielen inšpirujú obyvateľov k dokumentovaniu a skúmaniu miestneho kultúrneho dedičstva, ale tiež posilňujú identitu komunity, ktorá čelila asimilačnému tlaku v socialistickom Československu v druhej polovici 20. storočia.The study examines the role of heritage books [Heimatbücher], which preserve the memories and specific historical narratives of forcibly displaced Carpathian Germans from Lower Spiš, in shaping the collective memory and identity of the local community in one of their former villages. Based on thecultural memory theory of Jan and Aleida Assmann (2001; 2006) and ethnographicresearch conducted in 2020, the preliminary findings suggest that thecontents of these books are purposively selected with the intention of memorializing founding and biographical memories, thus supporting the persistence of group identity and historical awareness among the local population. Furthermore, heritage books not only inspire residents to document and explore local cultural heritage but also reinforce the community's identity, which faced assimilation pressures under socialist Czechoslovakia in the latter half of the 20th century

Le Goff analyzing technical progress of medieval Europe considered invention and spreading of water mill in particular, among the “ the most unique and most revolutionary medieval inventions” (Le Goff, 1991: 202-203). Kultúrne a historické okolnosti vzniku a rozšírenia vodných mlynov možno sledovať z viacerých aspektov európskeho kultúrneho priestoru. J. Le Goff pri analýze technického pokroku stredovekej Európy zaradil vynález a rozšírenie vodného mlyna medzi „najunikátnejšie a najrevolučnejšie stredoveké vynálezy“ (Le Goff, 1991: 202-203)

One of the branches of ethnology that moves from empirical to theoretical perspectives seeks the relationships between contemporary cultural traditions and the past, as they emerge in Czech, Slavic, and Central European contexts. Research into traditional festivals in Czech folk culture in the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century has provided sources that stimulate questions about the vitality of conservative cultural phenomena
