Secure Home-WiFi: A Blockchain-Enhanced Intrusion Prevention System for Securing Home Wireless Networks
With the significant increase and growing expansion in the use of smart devices within homes, home wireless networks have become more vulnerable to direct cyber-attacks such as unauthorized access attempts, identity theft, and brute force attacks against Wi-Fi protocols in general. Although standard and traditional security technologies such as WPA2/WPA3 encryption and MAC filtering provide a basic level of protection, they still suffer from security issues in the form of vulnerabilities that can be exploited and local log manipulation. To overcome these challenges, this research proposes a blockchain-based system to prevent intrusions into home wireless networks. The system relies primarily on real-time monitoring of traffic through the router to detect suspicious access attempts, using a special distributed ledger (blockchain) to store lists of trusted devices and security logs in a tamper-proof and forgery-proof manner. This system prevents unauthorized devices from joining the network and builds reliable audit logs of security events. This work highlights the potential for integrating blockchain technology with simple, low-cost security solutions to enhance the security of wireless networks in everyday environments.
pdf Polymorphism Occurrence in PTGS2gene Sequence in Women with Cervicitis
The cervix plays a significant role in confirming the appropriate pregnancy and parturition timing. One hundred blood specimens were taken from 100 women having cervicitis and from 100 apparently healthy women as controls. This work was performed at Al-Khark hospital for delivery and children, in Baghdad city during the period from January 2023 to January 2024. The results showed that the highest infection rate (64.9%) was in the age group (15-24) years, followed by (58.1%) in the age group (35-44) years, (49.3%) in the age group (25-34) years, (47.4%) in the age group (45-54) years, and (25%) in the age group (55-60) years (p=0.03). The results also reveald no significant difference in mean Ca19.9 value among the patients (19.62 ±18.73) compared to the healthy group (19.21 ±18.68), However, a highly significant difference was found in mean Ca125 values between the patients (25.25±0.96) compared to the controls (18.98±17.95) (P<0.001). Also, there was no significant variation between mean Ca 15.3 marker in patient group (22.88±17. 78) compared to the control group (18.86±16.44) (P= 0.72), while there was a highly significant difference between mean CRP level (89.06±0.99) in the patient group compared to the healthy (6.89±0.34) (P<0.001). The plymorfism in PTGS2 gene showed an increse in levels of Ca125 marker 4(20%) with a highly variation (P=0.001), and of CRP levels was 16(80%), with a significant variation (P=0.001), while the levels of polymorphism were found with Ca15.3 marker 3(15%), with significant variation (P=0.07) and Ca19.9 marker 1(5%), with a non-significant difference (P=0.3). No mutation was observed when the rs888160762 SNP of PTGS2 gene was analysed, while a polymorphism happened when the rs20417SNP of PTGS2 gene was analysed by the use of Sanger sequencings. The C homozygous allele was indicated by the single “C” peak, while the G/C heterozygous allele was indicated by the existence of “G” and “C” peaks
Knowledge of Nurses Regarding Pressure Ulcer Prevention in Diyala Governorate Hospitals: Ahmed K. Ahmed, Ahmed H. Radhi and Aqeel A. Noaman
Pressure ulcer is localized damage to the skin and/or underlying tissue, as a result of pressure or pressure in combination with shear. The objective is to assess nurses\u27 knowledge towards pressure ulcer prevention and management, and to identify the factors influencing their knowledge. The study is a cross-sectional study was conducted in Diyala governorate hospitals to evaluate nurses\u27 knowledge regarding pressure ulcers using the PUKAT 2.0 instrument. A total of 252 nurses were selected through proportional random sampling over a five months period, from December 10, 2024, to May 1, 2025. Descriptive statistics were applied, and inferential tests—including the independent t-test, ANOVA, and chi-square test—were used for data analysis via SPSS software (version 29.0), with a significance level set at p < 0.05. Nurses had a mean age of 28.9 ± 6.2 years, ranging from 20 to 49 years. Females represented 52.4% of the study sample. The majority held a diploma degree (57.1%) and had 1–4 years of work experience (50.8%). Regarding wards, the highest proportion (31.0%) worked in general wards. The overall satisfactory knowledge of nurses towards pressure ulcer prevention was 19.8%, n=50. The overall knowledge of nurses regarding pressure ulcer prevention was found to be unsatisfactory. Most knowledge subthemes fell below the expected competency level. Only the subtheme concerning \u27classification and observation\u27 demonstrated an acceptable level of understanding

Kocuria kristinae is non-pathogenic Gram-positive coccus and an emerging pathogen predominantly affecting immune-compromised induvial, frequently leading to severe infections. It is related with nosocomial infections and drug resistance. That comprises adults with bacteremia being most common clinical manifestation. Infections typically existing with nonspecific symptoms and complicating diagnosis. Most clinical forms comprise bloodstream infections, skin infections, and infections associated to medical devices. Effective management involves timely identification and suitable antibiotic therapy, as K. kristinae shows multidrug resistance.

Prevalence of Salmonella Bacteria Causing Intestinal Diarrhea in Domestic Dogs and Cats and Identification of Their Genetic Diversity in Diwaniyah Governorate, Iraq: Mohammad Hassan Mazhar
The study aimed to investigate the prevalence of Salmonella bacteria in dogs and cats infected with diarrhea for the period (from October 2024 to March 2025), where 40 samples were collected and divided into two groups (20 dog samples) and (20 cat samples). Salmonella bacteria were isolated and diagnosed using phenotypic, biochemical and molecular methods. The number of confirmed positive isolates was 10 isolates, representing 40%, distributed as follows: 7 dogs and 3 cats. The incidence of several virulence genes invA and SiTc was also evaluated for all culture-positive Salmonella isolates. The SiTc gene was 30% prevalent (3: 2 dogs and 1 cat), but the invA gene was 100% prevalent, making it an effective PCR diagnostic tool for Salmonella. The genetic diversity of the bacteria under study was also identified using RAPD technology. PCR results showed that there was genetic variation among the ten diagnosed isolates, and they were distributed in three clusters (I,V,IV) with a total of 4 variations. In conclusion, it must be noted that dogs, especially domestic ones, act as a reservoir for invasive Salmonella bacteria, so society needs strict health measures to prevent its spread to humans.

The beginning of the illness may be slow or rapid The purpose of the study is to study the relationship between vital variables and kidney diseases and the relationship between urea and creatinine in patients with arthritis the study included 60 samples of women and men between the ages of 30 and 55 years old and the samples were divided 30 samples of arthritis patients, 20 samples of women and 10 samples of men. The control group included 30 samples from people without arthritis, 20 samples from women and 10 samples from men. Chronic medical conditions such as cancer, people with chronic inflammation, and pregnant women were excluded. Five milliliters of venous blood samples were collected from patients and control group, blood was clotted at 37°C and centrifuged at 4000 rpm for 10 minutes and blood was separated for direct ESR analysis, serum separation and serum separation for CRP, Uric acid Urea,creatinine, ALP, The study showed higher levels of erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), creatinine, urea, and uric acid in the blood serum, with a significant difference.
From all of the above, we can conclude that these biomarkers can be used as predictors of arthritis
pdf Exploring the Link Between Helicobacter Pylori Infection Severity and Metabolic Disruptions: The Role of IL-17F as a Key Biomarker: Waleed Al Jubouri, Ajile Al Zamily and Osamah Muslim
Helicobacter pylori is a Gram-negative, microaerophilic bacterium that colonises. Aims to evaluate the relationship between H. pylori infection severity and metabolic disorder. A case-control study was conducted with 180 patients, who were divided into three groups: (Group 1) severe gastritis, (Group 2) moderate gastritis, and (Group 3) healthy controls. In serum, H. pylori was detected using nephelometry immunoassay, and enzyme-linked immunoassay (ELISA) determined interleukin-17F (IL-17F). The severe gastritis patients had significantly higher H. pylori levels compared to those of moderate gastritis patients (mean difference: 47.083 AU/ml, p < 0.05) and healthy controls (mean difference: 117.033 AU/ml, p < 0.05). The control group had significantly lower amounts of H. pylori than those in the moderate gastritis group (mean difference: -69.950 AU/ml, p <0.05). The levels of IL-17F were also significantly higher in the severe gastritis group than the moderate gastritis group (mean difference: 27.9467 ng/ml, p < 0.05) and the control group (mean difference: 59.9967 ng/ml, p < 0.05). The levels of HbA1c in the severe gastritis group were higher than those in both the moderate gastritis group (mean difference: 3.1217%, p <0.05) and the control group (5.0883%, p <0.05). The mean levels of RBS in severe gastritis were higher compared to both moderate gastritis (51.800 mg/dl, p < 0.05) and the control group (122.833 mg/dl, p < 0.05). Results revealed that higher infection severity resulted in higher concentrations of these markers, indicating the contribution of H. pylori to metabolic dysfunction and immune response. These results underscore the need for H. pylori eradication to enhance metabolism and immunity.
التبدد المائي وتأثيراته على التنمية المستدامة في العراق
إن ما تمثله الموارد المائية من أهمية محورية للاستخدامات المختلفة في العراق في ضوء الندرة المائية لهذا المورد الثمين , إنما يدعو إلى توجيه الاهتمام المناسب للتحليل والدراسة والبحث في كافة القضايا والجوانب التي من شأنها أن تساهم في تنمية وصيانة تلك الموارد وتحقيق أقصى مستويات ممكنة من الترشيد وكفاءة الاستخدام وفي هذا الجانب يتعرض هذا المورد الى الهدر والاستنزاف في ظل ظروف التغيرات المناخية والجفاف وتطور مشاريع اعالي الحوض وعدم وجود اتفاقيات لتقسيم الحصص المائية وعدم وجود مشاريع لصيانة هذا المورد من التبدد الذي تطور خلال المدة الحالية (2003- 2022) بسبب الزيادة السكانية وتطور متطلبات التنمية والبيئة في العراق , ان زيادة تركيز ملوحة الانهار من 0.5 الى 1.3 دي سيمينز يعني زيادة 7.5 طن من الاملاح على مساحة 1 هكتار من الاراضي الزراعية، وان فقدان 1 مليار م3 من المياه يؤدي الى خروج 65 الف هكتار من الاراضي الزراعية المروية , ولمحدودية واستنزاف الموارد المائية في العراق لابد من إعادة هيكلية وادارة هذا المورد ليتناسب مع زيادة المتطلبات التنموية والبيئية
تداعيات التسرب المدرسي على المجتمع
يُعدّ التسرب المدرسي من القضايا الاجتماعية البارزة التي تؤثر سلبًا في الأفراد والمجتمعات. ويُعرف التسرب الدراسي بأنه انقطاع الطالب عن التعليم قبل إتمام المرحلة الدراسية المقررة، وهو ظاهرة تنتشر في دول متعددة، وخصوصا في المجتمعات التي تعاني من مشكلات اقتصادية واجتماعية. وفي هذا البحث سنتناول ظاهرة التسرب المدرسي من منظور شامل، الهدف منها التعرف على أسبابها المختلفة للتسرب، بدءًا من العوامل الاقتصادية والاجتماعية إلى التحديات داخل البيئة المدرسية. وسنسلط الضوء على التداعيات السلبية التي تنعكس على المجتمع، مع تقديم مقترحات وحلول للحد من هذه الظاهرة، بما يسهم في بناء مستقبل أفضل وأكثر استدام
براءة الاختراع في مجال الكائنات الدقيقة: حدود الحماية المدنية وخصوصية الشروط القانونية
تُعدّ مُشكلة حماية الاختراعات الناتجة عن التكنولوجيا الحيوية لا سيما فيما يتعلَّق بالكائنات الدقيقة من المُشكلات القانونية المُستحدثة؛ نظراً للطبيعة الخاصَّة للاختراع في هذا الصدد، إذ تقع الكائنات محل البحث في منطقة وسط بين ما يُعدّ من قبيل الاختراع التقني والاكتشاف الطبيعي. وقد اماطت الأنظمة القانونية الحديثة اللثام عن الرغبة في إرساء معالم الحماية القانونية عن طريق براءة الاختراع بشأن الكائنات الدقيقة شريطة أن تكون ناشئة عن طريق تدخُل تقني مثل العزل أو التعديل. وفي مقابل ما سبق، نجد بعض التشريعات (مثل قانون براءة الاختراع والنماذج الصناعية العراقي رقم 65 لسنة 1970 المُعدَّل) ما زالت تُعاني من قصور تشريعي في هذا الصدد؛ نظراً لمضي مُدة طويلة على إصدارها، إذ لمْ يكنْ في ذهن واضعي التشريع آنذاك حماية هذا النوع من الاختراعات ما يُعدّ تحدياً قانونياً أمام الحماية المدنية للاختراعات المُتعلِّقة بالكائنات الدقيقة. وإزاء المُتطلبات المُتناقضة بين حماية حقوق المُخترعين في هذا المجال وضمان إمكانية الوصول إلى الموارد في البيئة الطبيعية خاصَّة بالنسبة للدول الّتي ما زالت في طور النمو، جاءت هذه الدراسة لتسلط الضوء على حدود الحماية المدنية للاختراع في مجال الكائنات الدقيقة مع بيان خصوصية الشروط القانونية للبراءة
