Validation of an additive Mori–Tanaka scheme for elastic–viscoplastic composites based on a modified tangent linearization
This dataset contains data obtained along the validation of the newly proposed an additive Mori–Tanaka scheme for elastic–viscoplastic composites which is based on a modified tangent linearization. The model was formulated in the related publications where also the numerical algorithm for the model implementations was described. The model was validated by performing simulations for two-phase composites with mechanical properties included in Table 1 of related publication. Validation was performed with respect to the results of full-field FFT calculations available in the literature for ischoric tension with different strain rates, single cyclic isochoric tensions-compression and non-monotonic tension-shear process. The calculations have been performed with the Wolfram Mathematica. For selected cases the predictions were also compared to outcomes of the concurent model presented by Berbenni in (2021) - see related publication for full reference to the latter model.The data are listed in Fig<X><name>.dat files. They include data points being the results of the performed calculations with a new model for the curve(s) presented in figure <X> of the related article. <name> indicates the method or the model and its variant used to obtain the data points of a given curve. For completness we provide also the data we have used for validation, the full-field FFT results established based on existing literature. The tabular format used enables these curves to be reconstructed in any graphical program like gnuplot, MSExcel, Mathematica or similar enabling one to compare their model predictions with our proposal.The type and meaning of subsequent columns of data is described in details in file: readme.txt.</p
Algorithm used for detecting particles from shadowgraphy images for thermal spray applications
The particle detection algorithm extends the capabilities of the SprayCam diagnostic system. Written in Python, this code enables image analysis of shadowgraphy images. Feature detection methods have been integrated into the framework, which capture image stream and performs real-time analysis and post-processing. The goal of enhancing the features of commercially available software was to analyze feedstock injection in thermal spray applications. It simplifies the collection of particle data during spraying trials, helping to generate a comprehensive dataset for injection optimization or further analysis.</p

Effects of sequential administration of phage cocktail, ciprofloxacin, and caspofungin on Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans dual species biofilms
Polymicrobial biofilms, are another threat in the post-antibiotic era. Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans often occur together, causing infections that are difficult to treat. Therefore, many alternative solutions are investigated, including phage antibiotic synergy (PAS), which may be more effective because of different mechanisms of action. In this work, we investigated how different sequences of administration phage cocktail, ciprofloxacin, and caspofungin will eradicate S. aureus/ C. albicans in liquid culture and biofilm. In liquid culture, the sequence of phages then caspofungin then ciprofloxacin completely eradicated S. aureus and C. albicans. In the case of biofilm, the best therapeutic option was the administration of three agents at once or using phages and ciprofloxacin before caspofungin. In conclusion, phages must first be administrated alone or with other factors in both environments. Sequences, when both drugs or only caspofungin was first introduced to cultures, were less effective. The sequence of administration of drugs and phages should be taken into account when planning alternative therapies based on their synergistic action. This dataset contains the results of a study on the effect of nickel on the midgut of the shrimp Neocaridina davidi.During the experiment, the shrimp were divided into experimental groups, exposed to nickel, and returned to clean water to verify whether the changes were reversible. Optical Coherence Tomography Imaging by a Fully Integrated MOEMS Endomicroscopy Probe With Mirau Microinterferometer and Two-Axis Electrothermal Microscanner Using Lissajous Trajectory Scanning
This article presents the results of a study focused on the development of an integrated probe intended for endomicroscopic application. A new type of transverse scanning probe is described, which was built using Mirau microinterferometer fabricated in micro-opto-electromechanical systems (MOEMS) technology, and a two-axis electrothermal actuator fabricated in micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology, connected with a gradient-index (GRIN) lens collimator and single-mode fiber. Herein, we present a numerical analysis and an optimization of endomicroscopic probe-scanning properties, based on Lissajous curves. The key part of this article is 2-D and 3-D imaging of phantom structures, based on polymer material, light-scattering material, and USAF-target pattern visualized with an endomicroscopy probe. The imaging was obtained by the swept source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) technique, working at a central wavelength λc = 1060 nm, a swept range Δλ = 100 nm, an A-scan rate fa = 200 kHz, and the scanning of samples with the use of Lissajous curves.</p
An approach to developing Likert scale survey results based on the example of a research study involving a limited number of students
Surveys are important tools for collecting knowledge, including student knowledge, and assessing their opinions and behavior. Survey results inspire information processing and selection of a processing method for further knowledge management. In this study, an improved approach to the method of presenting survey results was developed, using the Likert scale. In the survey, 20 students answered 10 questions (issues) that examined their opinions on the impact of modern technical equipment in dairy production on the assessment of this production. The Feature Significance Index (FSI) was used to develop the survey study results. FSI is the ratio of the percentage share of the highest to the lowest ratings on the Likert scale. In the case of four issues, none of the students indicated the options very little impact and little impact. Therefore, the FSI index could not be calculated, so a modified version was proposed. After ranking the issues in the survey based on the FSI index, the difference in FSI between the best and the worst rated issue was more than 13 times. This difference was less than two times in the modified version of the FSI index. A larger difference allows for a more comprehensive interpretation of the survey results. The study confirmed that the small number of survey participants is a key limitation in developing the survey results.</p
