    Adaptation to climate change is now a popular activity and an important budget item in many cities around the world. The variety of adaptation measures available shows that the link between climate change knowledge and the implementation of adaptation solutions is a complex process influenced by many factors. The aim of the planned project is to find out how and with which methods/tools different social groups translate their expert knowledge on changing climate conditions into local adaptation measures in Polish cities.The produced data set consists of in-depth qualitative interviews recorded in mp3 format and their transcriptions, as well as sets of publicly available data (documents, press releases, reports, descriptions of participatory budget projects) coded related to the research project topics. Sets of coded publicly available data will be successively made accessible during the course of the project for further analysis, for research purposes only.</p

    The current study aimed to modify the gut microbiota of broiler chickens by in ovo stimulation on d 12 of egg incubation with SB and to determine the changes occurring in intestines. One thousand eggs were incubated and injected with 0.1, 0.3, or 0.5% SB on d 12 of incubation. The control group was injected with physiological saline. Samples collected for analysis were obtained postmortem from 42-day-old ROSS 308 broiler chickens.     Set of photographs and software for focus stacking of through-hole drill bits for wood

    This dataset consists of a set of photographs of used and unused drill bits - through-hole, for wood, photographed using a camera with applied rings and a macro lens. Each series of photographs consists of photographs of the same drill bit, in the same position, but with a change in the distance between the drill bit and the camera, thus obtaining photographs of the drill bit with different areas of focus.These sets were used to design and test software for measuring blade wear.A script consisting of commands was included with the software set, which allowed obtaining data for an article based on this research [article not yet published].Please refer to README file to get more informations.</p

    The relationship between pollen monodiets and the activities of proteolytic system in the fat body and hemolymph of honey bees workers

    In this study, the effect of monofloral pollen diets (hazel, rape, pine, buckwheat, phacelia, goldenrod) on the activity of the proteolytic system in the fat body from tergite 3, tergite 5, sternite, and hemolymph of honeybees was investigated. We showed that pollen from rapeseed, phacelia, buckwheat, and goldenrod plants increases the activities of acidic, neutral, and alkaline proteases and their inhibitors in the fat body and hemolymph compared to the group fed with sugar candy only. The activities of proteases and their inhibitors fed with pollen from hazel and pine plants are usually higher compared to the activity of bees fed with sugar candy only, but lower than workers fed sugar candy with entomophilous plants. Moreover, when comparing proteolytic system activity between localizations/segments, the highest activities were observed in tergite 5, regardless of bee age and whether they were fed candy with added pollen. </p

    All raw absorbance measurements for spectrophotometric determinations necessary for semi-quantitative assays (blank signal already removed) used in the preparation of the title manuscript. Assays include: DPPH, ABTS (antioxidant power), TPC, TFC (total phenolics and flavonoids determination), carotenoids and chlorophylls. Results pertain to content of active compounds in garden cress plants under the biostimulant effect of Cladophora glomerata extract of different concentration.     Simulations of optimal light polarization state generators and analyzers configurations realized in one-way double pass Mueller polarimetric system using single twisted nematic liquid crystal

    The dataset contains the results of optimizing the configurations of light polarization state generators and analyzers that can be implemented in one-way double pass Mueller polarimetric system. The same module is used as a generator (PSG) and analyzer (PSA) of different polarization states of light. In the performed numerical simulations, the PSG/PSA module is constructed from a linear polarizer and a single twisted nematic liquid crystal (TNLC).PSG/PSA descriptionThe elements of the system are represented by a Mueller matrices. The forms of the used Mueller matrices are included in the file: &#34;Mueller_matrix.pdf&#34;. It was assumed that for PSG, TNLC director axis of the first layer is aligned along the x-axis of the coordinate system. However, for PSA, TNLC director at the input surface of the modulator is rotated by an angle π/2. Due to the configuration, TNLC in the PSG and PSA system introduces the same linear phases. The dependence between the voltage of the TNLC and the induced phase difference is not considered.Optimization processThe numerical PSG/PSA model were simulated and optimized to find the optimal set of TNLC’s linear phase differences for every linear polarizer’s azimuth angle, and thereby the best set of generators and analyzers, leading to the minimum system condition number (CN). Also equally weighted variance (EWV) is calculated. The results of optimization process were generated for:different ranges of possible TNLC’s linear phase difference: (0;2π&gt;, (0;3π&gt;, (0;4π&gt;, (0;5π&gt;,different number of configurations realized by PSG/PSA (n&#61;{4:20}),azimuthal orientations of the polarizer from 0°-180° with a step of 0.5°.For each azimuth angle of the polarizer randomly permuted n TNLC’s linear phases and determination instrumental matrices for PSG (the columns of this matrix correspond to the n Stokes vectors of the PSG) and PSA (the rows of this matrix correspond to the n Stokes vectors of the PSA). CN of the polarimeter system was calculated as product of generator’s CN and analyzer’s CN. These steps have been repeated 10 000 times and the minimum CN value corresponding to a given polarizer azimuth angle was determined. Associated with this determined minimum CN value of the system are EWV value and set of n TNLC’s linear phases, leading to n Stokes vectors for PSG and PSA.Used software: MATLAB File information and data formatThe data are saved as text files (.txt) and MAT-files (.mat).The resulting files are grouped according to the assumed maximum linear phase difference introduced by TNLC (PDmax):maximum_linear_phase_difference_2pi.zip -&gt; TNLC’s linear phases are generated from the range (0;2π&gt;maximum_linear_phase_difference_3pi.zip -&gt; TNLC’s linear phases are generated from the range (0;3π&gt;maximum_linear_phase_difference_4pi.zip -&gt; TNLC’s linear phases are generated from the range (0;4π&gt;maximum_linear_phase_difference_5pi.zip -&gt; TNLC’s linear phases are generated from the range (0;5π&gt;.Inside, the folders are grouped according to the different number of configurations (n&#61;{4:20}).
