Two- and Three-Layered Composite Scintillators Based on the Ce3+- Doped GAGG and TbAG Garnets for the Simultaneous Registration of Various Types of Ionizing Radiation

No full text
This work presents our most recent results in the development of composite scintillators using Liquid Phase Epitaxy growth method, based on the single crystalline films and single crystals of garnet compounds for radiation monitoring of different components of mixed ionization radiation fluxes. Such composite scintillators present two and three layered epitaxial structures consisting of two single crystalline films of Ce3+ doped garnets, namely Gd3Al5-xGaxO12:Ce garnet with Ga content x=1.75–2.25 as a first film layer and Tb3Al5O12:Ce garnet as a second film layer. As substrates, the Gd3Al5-xGaxO12:Ce single crystals with fixed Ga concentration x=2.3, 2.5 and 3.0 were used. For estimation of scintillation properties of the respective epitaxial structures (pulse height spectra, light yield and scintillation decay kinetics) we have used three types of ionizing radiation: α–particles (239Pu), β-particles (90Sr + 90Y) and γ–quanta (137Cs).</p

Dissolution_rosarin.xlsx - data represent the percentage of rosarin released. Columns indicate the systems tested, rows the corresponding time points. Data are presented as a percentage. Dissolution studies of electrospun nanofibers were performed using an Agilent 708-DS dissolution apparatus. A standard basket method was used at 37 ± 0.5 °C with a stirring speed of 50 rpm. Nanofibers were placed in 30 mL of artificial saliva solution at pH 6.8 (potassium chloride (1.20 g), sodium chloride (0.85 g), di-potassium hydrogen orthophosphate (0.35 g), magnesium chloride (0.05 g), calcium chloride (0.20 g), xylitol (20.0 g) and water up to 1 L; pH was adjusted to 6.8 by 1 M HCl). The liquid samples were collected at specified time intervals, and an equal volume of temperature-equilibrated media was replaced. The samples were filtered through a 0.45 μm nylon membrane filter. The concentration was determined using the HPLC method (https://www.mdpi.com/1420-3049/30/16/3359) and converted, relative to the weight, into the percentage of the substance released during the experiment.Dissolution_salidroside.xlsx - data represent the percentage of salidroside released. Survey data on inflation and food waste in Poland and Italy

No full text
The attached four Excel/ODS files contain information related to a survey conducted in Poland and Italy in 2024. The survey encompassed 43 questions and was aimed at providing insights into the impact of high inflation on consumer food choices related to grocery shopping, food storage, meal preparations, and food waste and to what extent the choices during high inflation differ from those during low inflation. As a point of reference, the authors chose the 24th of February 2024, which marks the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The data was collected and coded by a market research agency: MSI-ACI Europe group.</p

Numerical results for hydrogen flames stabilized by bluff bodies: influence of star-shaped geometries on flame characteristics

No full text
Research data related to the publication "Numerical analysis of turbulent nitrogen-diluted hydrogen flames stabilised by star-shaped bluff bodies".This dataset contains numerical simulation results of turbulent hydrogen-air flames stabilized by various bluff body geometries. The fuel is nitrogen-diluted hydrogen, and the oxidizer is air. The study investigates how different bluff body shapes—namely cylindrical, star-shaped, and shapes with sharp or smooth, wavy, small triangular elements—affect vortex formation, mixing, and flame characteristics.Simulations were performed using the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) method to analyze flame length, temperature and species field, and completeness of the combustion process. The results highlight how even small geometric changes to the bluff body can significantly influence combustion performance. The simulation results are provided in files named Fig*.dat, where each file corresponds to a figure from the associated publication. The readme.txt file includes a sorted list of filenames linked to the respective figures. For more information about the .dat file format, please refer to the Tecplot documentation:https://www.tecplot.com/2016/09/16/tecplot-data-file-types-dat-plt-szplt/This work was supported by the National Science Center in Poland (Grant No. 2020/39/B/ST8/02802). The computations were carried out using the PL-Grid Infrastructure and the Poznan Supercomputing and Network Center.</p

Triple coronal Hard X-ray source observed by STIX during a failed filament eruption

No full text
We investigate the SOL2022-02-15T1815 solar flare, accompanied by a failed eruption, finding an answer to the question: What is the nature of coronal HXR sources accompanying the event? The HXR emission sources related to the interaction between the eruption and the overlying magnetic field might be typical structures observed in all flares. However, they seem to be weak as their emission is at the level of 5-20% of the flare coronal source. The deposited data is used to prepare an article: Mrozek, T. et al. 2025, Triple coronal Hard X-ray source observed by STIX during a failed filament eruption, Astronomy & Astrophysics, in press.</p
