Probabilistic entropy and relative entropy for the effective characteristics of the fiber-reinforced composites with stochastic interface defects

No full text
The data contains the results of homogenization of some-fiber reinforced periodic composite (carbon fibers and polymer matrix). They are given as the polynomial interrelation in-between some input uncertainty source and the first component of the effective elasticity tensor. This spreadsheet enables calculation of the Shannon entropy of the resulting tensor as well as probabilistic distance in-between original elastic characteristics of the composite and its homogenized counterpart. The file is written for MAPLE 2024 and is available for any version of this software having "Statistics" library.</p

Targeted Inactivation of Bacteriophages by Polypyrrole Nanoparticles

No full text
Bacteriophage contamination is a persistent issue in various industrial and medical settings, requiring effective yet selective inactivation strategies. The source of phages may be antibiotics, other additives, or raw substrates. There are no effective methods to protect bacterial cultures against such events. This study proposes polypyrrole nanoparticles functionalized with 1% carboxyl groups (P(Py:PyCOOH) 100:1 NPs) as a targeted solution for phage inactivation. The P(Py:PyCOOH) 100:1 nanoparticles exhibit selective antiviral properties, with above 95% inactivation of T4, MS2, and vB_SauS_CS1 phages, while maintaining less than 5% inactivation of their corresponding bacterial hosts (E. coli and S. aureus). TEM imaging reveals no significant morphological changes in the phages post-treatment, suggesting that inactivation occurs through blocking active sites rather than structural damage. Cytotoxicity studies demonstrate >90% viability of 3T3 NIH fibroblast cells upon exposure to P(Py:PyCOOH) 100:1, confirming the nanoparticles' biocompatibility and safety for potential biomedical applications. Because some phages serve as surrogates for pathogenic viruses, the presented results are the next step towards selective and safe antivirals acting directly on virions.</p

Model przecięcia trójwymiarowych struktur antyprzecięciowych

No full text
Badania prowadzono w okresie od 01.03.2024 r. do 31.12.2024 r. w Pracowni Ochron Rąk i Nóg, Zakład Ochron Osobistych, Centralny Instytut Ochrony Pracy – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy.Zdeponowane dane zostały zebrane w ramach realizacji projektu badawczego pt.: Model przecięcia trójwymiarowych struktur antyprzecięciowych, finansowanego przez Narodowe Centrum Nauki w ramach projektu w konkursie PRELUDIUM-20 (nr projektu: 2021/41/N/ST8/04281).

Bimodal functionality of highly conductive nanostructured silver film towards improved performance of photosystem I-based graphene photocathode

No full text
We present the novel design of photosystem I (PSI)-based biosolar cell, whereby conductive transparent electrode materials, such as ITO or FTO, are replaced with glass covered with silver island film. This nanostructured metallic layer combines high electric conductance with enhancing the absorption efficiency of the PSI biocatalyst via the plasmonic effect. We demonstrate strong enhancement of the photocurrent generated in the biohybrid electrode composed of oriented layers of PSI reaction centers due to plasmonic interactions of the PSI fluorophores and redox centres with the conductive silver island film.</p

The dataset contains trade data covering values of exports and imports of agri-food products between European Union (EU) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries. Moreover, the dataset includes calculations of the intensity and nature of intra-industry trade of agri-food products between the two groupings. Furthermore, data and calculations on the similarity of agri-food trade structures and values between the EU and RCEP are included.</p

Expression profiles of fatty acid transporters and the role of n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids in the porcine endometrium

No full text
Raw data to article – Expression profiles of fatty acid transporters and the role of n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids in the porcine endometrium. The aim of the study was to analyze expression profiles of fatty acid (FA) transporters in the endometrium of cyclic and pregnant gilts on days 3 to 20 after estrus and to examine the possible regulation by conceptus signals and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). Moreover, the effect of PUFAs on prostaglandin (PG) synthesis and transcript abundance of genes related to FA action and metabolism, angiogenesis, and immune response in endometrial explants was determined.</p
