Dumont D'Urville sea abiotic and physical parameters and Jupyter notebook
The Dumont D’Urville sea located off George V and Adélie Land, is one of the better known East-Antarctic marine areas displaying a diversity of abiotic and physical parameters that have been shown to drive the distribution of marine organisms. The dataset presented here contributes to our understanding of these interactions, providing essential information for ongoing research and conservation efforts in this Antarctic ecosystem. This dataset presents a table containing abiotic and physical parameters specific to the Dumont D’Urville Sea and a Jupyter notebook to execute a R script in the ecoregionalization Galaxy workflow. The abiotic and physical parameters were first presented in the research article 'Predicting habitat preferences for Anthometrina adriani (Echinodermata) on the East Antarctic continental shelf' by Hemery et al. (2011). The jupyter notebook is dedicated to the pivot_wider function from the tidyr R package. This notebook is the final part of the data preparation for the ecoregionalization Galaxy workflow
Length and depth distributions of twelve deep-pelagic fish of the Bay of Biscay slope, Northeast Atlantic, between 2011 and 2021
The dataset contains individual total body length (cm) of 4165 individuals belonging to 12 deep pelagic fish species (Aphanopus carbo, Arctozenus risso, Argyropelecus olfersii, Lampanyctus crocodilus, Lampanyctus macdonaldi, Melanostigma atlanticum, Myctophum punctatum, Notoscopelus kroyeri, Searsia koefoedi, Serrivomer beanii, Stomias boa, Xenodermichthys copei). These measurements are classified by trawling station, including geographical position and trawling depth on the Bay of Biscay slope area. Individuals were collected by epi- to bathypelagic trawls in canyons of the continental slope of the Bay of Biscay (Northeast Atlantic) during EVHOE (Evaluation Halieutique de l'Ouest de l'Europe; https://doi.org/10.18142/8) scientific cruises between 2011 and 2021. Trawls were conducted at night between 25 m and 2000 m depth at 23 stations. The trawl was 192 m long with a headline of 76 m and a footrope of 70 m. The average vertical opening of the trawl was about 24 m and the horizontal opening was about 58 m. The mesh size gradually decreased from a very large 8 m (stretched mesh) at the mouth to 20 mm (stretched mesh) in the codend. In order to catch very small specimens, the trawl was also equipped with a 7.5 m long sock with a 12 mm mesh size. Each haul was conducted at a specific depth. Once the trawl reached the selected depth, it was towed horizontally (i.e. constant depth) at 4 knots for 1 hour
Fish biodiversity inventories of the port of Calvi, L'Île-Rousse, Saint-Florent and STARESO, Corsica (France) using citizen science eDNA techniques in 2022
This dataset contains fish occurrences in Mediterranean ports from an eDNA citizen science study using specially-designed citizen science eDNA kits as part of the EMFF-funded project QUAMPO (Grant agreement number: PFEA800219DM0940001) on port water quality. In total, 452 occurrences were recorded, in 4 ports of Haute-Corse (France): port of Calvi, port of L'Île-Rousse, port of Saint-Florent and at the marine station STARESO in Calvi. Citizen (pupils in 5th grade at 2 local schools) took part in the June sampling in the port of L'Île-Rousse. Among these occurrences, 422 were identified at the species-level and 30 at the genus-level. These fish inventory represented 63 species and 9 genuses. Originally, one sampling occasion for each port was foreseen in June 2022. However, we added a second sampling occasion in October 2022 to describe fish communities in ports after the storm that hit Corsica on August, 18 2022. This project is the first project using eDNA and citizen science in ports to study fish biodiversity

Tracking data and scripts of analysis to investigate griffon vulture avoidance in Grands Causses, France
This dataset was obtained through GPS tracking of wild griffon vultures (Gyps fuvlus) in the Grands Causses, France between 2019 and 2021. All tracking data files are in .csv but are also accessible through the Movebank plateform in the study : "Eurasian griffon vulture in France ID_PROG 961", scripts are in .R. The method used to process and analyse these data is described in the preprint here : https://doi.org/10.1101/2023.07.26.55065
