Emmanuel Levinas : The Discovery of Being against Husserl and Heidegger [In Arabic]

    No full text
This article aims to highlight fundamental Levinasian criticisms, essentially against Husserl and Heidegger, and therefore against any form of logocentrism in the Western philosophical tradition. This clearly explains the continual effort in Levinas to found a new conception of the relationship to the other, based mainly on the ontological primacy of responsibility towards the other, which is explicitly based on a phenomenology of the face, thus going beyond on the one hand, the intentional consciousness of Husserl, and on the other hand the question of being in Heidegger. And so on, Levinas claims to substitute ethics for ontology in order to arrive at the fundamental idea of ethics as primary philosophy

    No full text
The ancient and modern Arab linguists differed in defining and adjusting the concept of language and dialect and the difference between them?, and how did the classical arise?, and through this research I will present these points in some detail, to reach the conclusion that linguists are old despite the great services they have provided to preserve and control the Arabic language, but they neglected all dialects and only received various references and phrases in the books of language, literature and history, which makes it impossible to study them, by virtue of their study. The changing nature of the dialect from time to time, unlike modern linguists who knew the importance of dialects in the field of linguistic lesson, and their usefulness in understanding the nature of classical, they accepted to study them to know the characteristics common to them and the classical. &nbsp

More than Cool Reason: Why Should We Study Idioms in Intercultural Communication?

    No full text
Studying abroad equips learners with the necessary skills that help them get more prestigious and well-paid jobs and serves as a supplier of competent personnel for nations. However, learners abroad encounter many obstacles ranging from general living adaptation, emotional, cultural, social, academic challenges to intercultural communication issues. Amongst the causes of intercultural communication difficulties is the ubiquitous use of figurative entities in natives’ ordinary conversations. Despite the possibility that Algerian students might have a good command of English, they still face such challenges in the use of metaphorical language, especially idioms; a situation which might result in misunderstanding in conversations between native speakers and the Algerian learners. This paper sought to contribute to a deeper understanding and identification of the miscommunication and the cultural misunderstanding associated with the pervasiveness of idiomatic expressions in natives’ everyday language. The research took up a qualitative research method that involved an online questionnaire created through Google Form and shared on social media platforms and emails with 39 Algerian students learning in different English and Scottish universities. The paper evinces that incompetence in the use of idioms lead to breakdowns in communication with native speakers. Drawing on the established findings, it is advisable to adopt constructive attitudes and practices towards the teaching/learning of idioms in language classes

This research seeks to study one of the morphological issues in the language of the Noble Qur’an specifically, which is the issue of etymologyby addressing it in the field of exegesis, The one who investigates the writings of linguists and exegetes finds great interest in this aspect, since it is the return of words to their origins that reveals their connotations and meanings. Exegesis scholars have been interested in these principles by researching the subtle differences between synonymous words, or clarifying the semantic features of choosing a particular word in the Holy Qur’an, or putting a formula over another. What confirms the exegetes’ interest in the issue of derivation and research in the origins of words and their connotations is what we find in Ibn Ashour as a prominent model for those who gave their explanatory approach a linguistic tint.  It is evident in his interpretation that he pays great attention to the origins of words and how to derive them when he returns most of the words to their origins and increases his interest in the relationship of derivation to semantics and meaningin view of the prevalence of attention to this morphological issue in this interpretation, this research, named "The Derivative Origin and its Impact on Directing the Qur\u27anic Connotation at Al-Taher Ibn Ashour–“ KadhayaAlmoshtakat” Derivative Issues as a Model", focused on analyzing some models related to this linguistic process and allocating them through its known types using the descriptive analytical approach, starting with a description of the important meanings and concepts contained in the research, followed by studying the examples that were extrapolated and discussed.. &nbsp
