An Innovative Education Experience for Future Foreign Language Teachers: The Laboratori e Tirocini di Introduzione alle Metodologie e Tecnologie Didattiche/Teaching Labs
This contribution aims to describe the innovative experience related to the Laboratori e Tirocini di Introduzione alle Metodologie e Tecnologie Didattiche/Teaching Labs, which have been developed since A.Y. 2017/18 as part of the courses in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Verona. The objective of these Laboratori was to offer a preliminary teacher education experience for students interested in becoming foreign language and literature teachers.
The article will first discuss the rationale at the basis of the Laboratori project, also in connection to the importance of introducing language and literature students to the teaching profession, within the strategic priorities identified by the 2021 European Resolution in the field of education and training. The structure of the Laboratori and their characteristics will then be described in detail, highlighting the innovative aspects, in particular with reference to the blended learning approach, the familiarisation with the eTwinning European project, the micro-teaching sessions, as well as the practicum in lower and upper secondary schools. Some qualitative results and future perspectives will finally be discussed, including the developments which have led to the new Teaching Lab: Methodologies, Technologies and Practicum structure
«Klara and the Sun»: Reconfiguring the Gaze through a Robot
The complex themes raised by reflections on the Anthropocene will be investigated in Ishiguro\u27s novel Klara and the Sun (2021) in a narratological perspective that will explore the relationships between the agents of an «Earth System» (Latour 2015), which in the novel highlight a necessary reflection on our relationship with the Other, human/non-human. Through the perspective of a robot, an effect of estrangement is created in the text thanks to which the reader can understand new truths in the relationship between nature and culture.
Notes on the Relational Complexity of Literary Ecology
If the reflections on ecology and literature are now compelling, some concepts from Ernst Haeckel’s first definition (1866) can still be fruitfully investigated in order to enrich and enhance the theoretical framework. This contribution intends, firstly, to focus on the relational aspects of literary ecology, relying on the main recent critical perspectives. Besides, it intends to propose a relational reading of some literary texts that occupy the space in between subject and object in a manner that can be defined, with Haeckel, as ecological
Between Sea and Wind: The Climate of the Azores as an Aggravator of Human Servitude in the Novel «Gente Feliz com Lágrimas» (1988)
This article provides an ecocritical analysis of a Portuguese novel whose action takes place in the middle decades of 20th century in a rural setting in the northern coast of S. Miguel island. The purpose is to show that the Atlantic Climate of the Azores, going through a change due to global Climate Change, is a crucial issue affecting the dramatic condition of the characters, and it is potentially useful to the ecoliteracy of the readers. In conclusion the elements of «wind», «rain» and «cold» will be given a special relevance
«Every part full of these involvements». The Intimate and the Global in «Emergency» (2022) by Daisy Hildyard
This article endeavours to analyse how Daisy Hildyard’s novel Emergency (2022) explores the complex and often ambivalent enmeshing of life on Earth, bared by climate change and the recent pandemic. It will also be shown how the author uses traditional modes (i.e. the pastoral) to revisit and expand its scope in a time when the global and the local are always encroaching on each other

Abstract: In the history of Russian opera, a great number of composers on many occasions drew on the production of Aleksandr Pushkin to find subjects for their stage works with the intention to recreate the poet’s founding legacy in the field of music. Pyotr Il’ich Chaykovsky found that the narrative poem Evgeny Onegin suited his own sensibility, and in 1878 had his work staged for the first time at the Moscow Conservatoire. In this article I focus on the analysis of the renowned ‘letter scene’, – in which the protagonist Tat’yana expresses her love to Onegin – paying particular attention to the use of music style to collocate the action in due context.
Parole chiave: Evgenij Onegin, Pëtr Il’ič Čajkovskij, Aleksandr Puškin, traduzione intersemiotica

Textual and Visual Catalyzers/Distractors in Advertising
The contribution of this study is expressed in the following research question: is it possible to identify some implicit-explicit textual or visual elements that catalyze or distract audience attention on or from the advertised product? An analysis of a corpus of advertisements taken from the Instagram pages of the major companies operating in the US food and beverage market reveals that attracting or distracting attention on or from a product’s use or function is a frequent strategy. These elements may contribute to changing scripts in advertising and mental patterns in consumer perceptions. The items that signal the distraction or the catalyzation of consumer attention in the advertising message have been identified via the ARCO model (St.Amant forth., St.Amant 2022), based upon the concept of usability of products, which helps decode the process of recognition of a product in the consumer’s brain. Results are promising, as this theory may help advertisers make more effective moves in the dual, cooperative relationship with consumers and review promotional strategies to engage the audience in advertising communication
