Overcoming Barriers: The Educational Experiences of Undocumented Students

    No full text
Undocumented pupils, brought to a country as children without legal status, face various barriers to accessing education, financial aid, and employment. To better understand and address these challenges, it’s essential to examine their first-hand experiences and the roles of institutions and organizations in providing support and resources. Undocumented students face various factors that influence their educational prospects, including legal and policy barriers, financial resources, education pathways, support services, and social and cultural barriers. Addressing these challenges would help institutions and peers create a more equitable and inclusive society that supports the aspirations of all individuals, regardless of their legal status. Do You Consider Animals Therapist

    No full text
In my paper I will talk about why therapy animals should be at hospitals, senior living homes, schools and even the workplace, I will discuss the possible benefits these therapy animals can bring to all those places. It is clear that therapy animals help humans in many different ways such as, helping stress levels and blood pressure, increasing general mood, helping with loneliness and can be incredibly helpful in many circumstances that involve the importance of mental and physical health. The main question I will be addressing is whether therapy animals can help with physical and mental health overall. Faculty Sponsor: Professor Alejandra Orteg

The Synthesis of Low-cost and High-performance Cathodes for Sodium-ion Batteries

    No full text
Fossil fuels and CO2 emissions cause environmental problems. Countries aim for carbon neutrality by mid-century to combat climate change. Sustainable energy conversion and large-scale storage research is needed. Lithium-ion batteries dominate the market due to high energy density and long cycle life, but their high cost and uneven distribution necessitate alternatives. Sodium-ion batteries are promising due to abundant and low-cost sodium resources, but research is still in early stages, and their cost, energy density, and cycle life need improvement before commercialization. My project is focused on the synthesis of low-cost and high-performance cathodes for sodium-ion batteries. Faculty Sponsor: Professor Andy Su
