From the Alter Ego to the Alter Identicus: The Transformation of the Epistemological Approach to the other and its Implications in Child Psychiatry
The alter identicus has dismissed the alter ego in late modernity, with repercussions for the way psychiatrists view the other. After examining the notions of limit and situation for each of these two ways of viewing the other, we will examine their consequences for diagnostic development. We will detail the example of the ADI-R and the ADOS in the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). We will question the usefulness of defining very broad markers of belonging (alter identicus) that seem to miss their target : to understand a neuroconstructivist development process in which the patients creativity (alter ego) contributes significantly to the development of a divergent trajectory.
Polyphenol-Rich Collas-Coe a Study on Antioxidant Activity and Cellular Safety
Polyphenols, known for their strong antioxidant properties, combat oxidative stress, enhance cell viability, and protect against free radical damage. These bioactive compounds hold immense potential for functional food and cosmetic innovations, supporting overall health and promoting skin resilience, offering exciting opportunities in nutraceutical and cosmetic product development. This study evaluates the bioactive properties and potential applications of Collas-Co, a high-polyphenol ingredient with promising antioxidant activity. The total phenolic content (TPC) of Collas-Co was determined to be 58.05 0.33 mg GAE/g. Its antioxidant capacity, assessed via ORAC assay, revealed a remarkably high scavenging activity of 15,221 409 mol TE/100g. Furthermore, the DPPH assay demonstrated superior radical scavenging activity, with Collas-Co achieving 85.67% inhibition at 2.5 mg/mL, outperforming gallic acid by approximately 15%. Cytotoxicity studies using primary human dermal fibroblasts indicated that Collas-Co exhibited dose-dependent effects. At lower concentrations (0.39 mg/mL), it enhanced cell viability to 112.94%, suggesting potential protective or stimulatory properties. Moderate concentrations (0.786.25 mg/mL) showed tolerability, while higher concentrations (>12.50 mg/mL) resulted in cytotoxicity, with an IC50 of 50.50 2.07 mg/mL. These findings highlight Collas-Co as a potent antioxidant with moderate cytotoxicity, suitable for functional foods and cosmetic applications

Effect of Green Accounting on Market Value of Listed Oil and Gas Companies in Nigeria
The oil and gas sector play a crucial role in global economic development, yet it faces increasing scrutiny due to its environmental impact. In Nigeria, Africa\u27s largest oil producer, the sector significantly contributes to environmental degradation, including oil spills and gas flaring. This study explores the effect of green accounting on the market value of listed oil and gas companies in Nigeria. Specifically, it aims to assess the impact of environmental expenditure disclosure (EEXD) and stakeholder engagement disclosure (SED) on the market value of these companies. The population of the study comprises nine (9) publicly listed oil and gas companies on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX) as of December 31, 2023. Using a purposive sampling technique, five (5) companies with substantial environmental disclosures in their annual reports were selected. Data were sourced from the NGX Fact Book and the annual reports of the selected companies from 20142023. Descriptive statistics were employed to summarise the data characteristics, while correlation analysis examined the relationships between environmental expenditure disclosures and market value. Multivariate regression analysis was conducted to assess how EEXD and SED predict market value, with statistical analysis performed using Jamovi software (Version 2.3.28). The findings reveal that both Environmental Expenditure Disclosure and Stakeholder Engagement Disclosure have positive and statistically significant effects on market value. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on environmental disclosures in Nigeria\u27s oil and gas sector, emphasising the importance of transparent disclosure practices to foster market competitiveness and stakeholder confidence
Digital Marketing Strategies to Attract a New Generation of Tourists
The article examines the peculiarities of consumer behavior of Generation Z tourists, who predominantly use smartphones, prefer Instagram over other social networks such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, and spend a significant part of their time in the online space, using social networks as a source of information before traveling and for planning their trips. The article is aimed at studying the features of consumer behavior of Generation Z in tourism and developing digital marketing offers to attract Generation Z. The study revealed the importance of influencer marketing, since consumers are more likely to trust the recommendations of independent experts rather than directly brands. It is determined that the dynamic nature of the tourism industry requires flexibility in response to market changes and the development of original marketing approaches, and therefore causes the need to implement an influencer marketing strategy in social networks, which will contribute to influencing the purchasing decisions of consumers, in particular, Generation Z, which makes it an important tool in the tourism sector. As a result of the study, a number of specific characteristics of Generation Z as a promising group of active tourists were identified, namely: digitalization of travel, orientation to experience, activity in social networks, high expectations for personalization, focus on sustainable tourism, price sensitivity, flexibility in planning, inclination to travel in the company, trust in reviews and recommendations, multifunctionality. This made it possible to develop marketing areas for effective work with this market segment: digital presence and mobility, cooperation with influencers, environmental responsibility, individualization of offers, experience beyond comfort, gamification of interaction with customers, formats for digital nomads, fast and convenient service, flexible pricing policy, "Bring a friend" programs. Also, these areas are adapted to Ukrainian modern conditions. The implementation of these marketing proposals will increase the effectiveness of attracting Generation Z to tourist destinations. Overall, the study contributed to existing knowledge about influencer marketing and Gen Z behavior, providing valuable insights for industry professionals on how to engage this category of consumers and deepening understanding of this dynamic and influential demographic
Epidemiological Factors Affecting Post COVID-19 Acute Invasive Fungal Rhino-Sinusitis Incidence and Prognosis
Background: Acute Invasive fungal rhinosinusitis (AIFR) is a life-threatening disease presents usually in immune-compromised patients with impaired neutrophilic response.
Aim: To study and statistically analyze the epidemiological factors leading to the observed increased incidence of invasive fungal rhinosinusitis in coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) diseased patients and identify the prognostic factors that may affect the course and outcome of the disease.
Methods: This case-control study was carried out on 23 patients diagnosed with acute invasive fungal sinusitis patients, patients with positive coronavirus or recently recovered from coronavirus infection admitted to tertiary or secondary centers in El-Gharbia governorate, and 46 participants as a control. The study was focused on the epidemiological predisposing factors that may affect the incidence of the disease.
Results: COVID-19 reporting and data system (CORAD), level of O2 saturation, PH, steroid therapy dose and duration, duration of O2 therapy, and anterior septal deviation were insignificantly different between the two studied groups. Random blood sugar (RBS), neutropenia, and type O2 therapy were significantly different between the two studied groups. Steroid therapy dose and duration were significantly higher in the patients group than control group (P<0.05). In the total number of 23 patients 16(69.6%) patients had their middle turbinate as the first site to be affected by the pathology, 3(13%) patients in the right maxilla, 1 (4.3%) patient in the left maxilla, 2(8.7%) patients in the right sphenoid sinus, 1(4.3%) patient in the hard palate.
Conclusions: The Prognostic factors favoring bad prognosis: Uncontrolled Co-morbidities, high CORAD grade, high grade of fungal invasion, serum neutropenia, the use of ventilators as an O2 delivery method, and medical treatment alone without surgical treatment
Controlled Comorbidities, Uncontrolled Malignancy: A Case of Early Detection in Complex CKD Patients
Background: Multiple Myeloma, a haematological malignancy that is characterized by the clonal proliferation of plasma cells often presents with renal dysfunction, anaemia and bone lesions (CRAB criteria). Diagnosing Multiple Myeloma in patients who are suffering from preexisting chronic kidney disease and other comorbidities such as Diabetes and Hypertension can be quite challenging as these diseases have overlapping clinical presentation. This case serves to highlight the complexities in diagnosing MM in a patient with well-controlled comorbid diseases and atypical renal presentation.
The Case: We describe a case of a 66-year-old female patient with chronic kidney disease stage 2, diabetes mellitus type 2, chronic hypertension and coronary heart disease that presented to the clinic with complaints of lower limb oedema and severe proteinuria. Laboratory findings revealed a hypochromic normocytic anaemia and increased ESR. Initially, it was suspected to be diabetic nephropathy but the patients optimal glycaemic control as well as the disproportionate levels of anaemia and proteinuria cast doubts on that diagnosis. A sternal puncture was performed and revealed Multiple Myeloma.
Conclusion: Physicians must consider multiple myeloma as a part of a differential diagnosis in patients with chronic kidney disease presenting with atypical haematological or renal signs, particularly those that have a multitude of comorbidities. Such clinical suspicion may lead to early diagnosis, thus greatly reducing mortality rates in this patient category. This case also serves to highlight the importance of utilising a multidisciplinary approach in patients with overlapping comorbid conditions

(Re) Assessing the (in) Efficacy of Traditional Medicine among the NSO and Bakweri of Cameroon: Historical and Contemporary Perspectives
Traditional Medicine (TM) which was pioneer in satisfying mans health needs posed as one of those cultural aspects of centrality to the social and political economies of most communities in Africa South of the Sahara. Conventional medicine has its roots in traditional healing practices, as many early medical discoveries were derived from traditional herbal knowledge. Otherwise, the base of conventional medicine was first laid by TM. The question of efficacy looms over TM as a serious debate ensues among scholars for example: in Cameroon, as to its effectiveness which have been sustained for more than a century. So, though TM among the Nso and Bakweri was widely known for its effectiveness in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, it seems as though sparsely and at times administration of herbal treatment did not meet up to expectations as diseases it was intended to treat or heal persisted despite administration of herbal concoctions. Reasons account for this backdrop which are pinpointed and analysed herein. Inter-disciplinarity and content analysis form the methodological blocks of this manuscript, meanwhile primary and secondary sources will be used for data collection. The findings reveal that TM was effective but the activities of some practitioners had/has tempered with the efficacy of TM in one way or the other; deontological concerns/(in)adherence has its paw on the question as far as the efficacy/inefficacy of TM is concerned, the nature of certain illnesses, among others. Overtime, this practice has also evolved with significant improvement in packaging and hygienic conditions. The findings also revealed the fact that though TM failed to treat some illnesses does not demonstrate inefficacy, since individual traditional healers at times failed to respect the norms of treatment
Impact of the Transplant Acceleration Program (PAT-MA) Phase I on Transplant Indicators in Maranh㯬 Brazil: A Retrospective Study
Introduction: In the context of public health, the efficiency of transplant programs is crucial to improving outcomes for patients on waiting lists. This study evaluated the impact of implementing the Transplant Acceleration Program (PAT-MA) at the Transplant Center of Maranho, Brazil.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the impact of PAT-MA implementation on key performance indicators of the Maranho Transplant Center, with a focus on improving the organization and effectiveness of the regional transplant system through structured management methodology.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective observational study analyzing data from the Maranho Transplant Center before and after the first phase of PAT-MA as a quality improvement initiative, comparing the years 2022 and 2023. The indicators collected included: number of transplants performed, waiting list size, notifications per million population, effective donors per million, organ transplants per million, corneal transplants per million, and number of active CIHDOTTs and OPOs.
Results: Following PAT-MA implementation, there was a reduction in the family refusal rate (from 67% to 63%), a decrease in the rate of cardiac arrests before procurement completion (from 28% to 26%), an increase in notifications per million (from 172 [24/million] to 327 [46/million]), effective donors per million (from 12 [1.7/million] to 28 [3.9/million]), organ transplants per million (from 27 [3.9/million] to 62 [8.7/million]), corneal transplants per million (from 133 [18.6/million] to 255 [35/million]), and number of active CIHDOTTs and OPOs (from 3/0 to 10/1). These findings demonstrate marked growth and improvement in the regional transplant system.
Conclusion: This study demonstrates that the implementation of the Transplant Acceleration Program (PAT-MA) had a positive impact on key performance indicators at the Maranho Transplant Center. The results underscore the importance of strategic management approaches to optimize transplant program outcomes
