The Significance of Hyponatremia Assessment before Surgical Intervention on the Confusion Table in the Borderline Subdural Hematoma
The aim was to emphasize that changes in the consciousness table in a patient with traumatic border line subduralhematoma may depend not only on hematoma but also on hyponatremia. Our patient was a 60 year old, confused. The patient had borderline subduralhematoma and deep hyponatremia. The patient was followed up with clinical, radiological and laboratory findings. Consciousness was totally opened by the treatment of hyponatremia. Inconclusion, if the patient has border line subduralhematoma, we should not be rushed for surgery. Insuch patients, urgent electroly teevaluationse specially for hyponatremia should be done first, and this should be corrected
Adrenal Myelolipoma: A Rare Case of the Incidentaloma: About one Case
BACKGROUND: Adrenal myelolipoma is a rare, benign, non-functioning tumor of the adrenal gland. Which is why it is often asymptomatic, but it may be complicated by pain or retroperitoneal hemorrhage. Medical imaging is key to the diagnosis by highlighting its fatty component, non present in other adrenal incidentalomas. Surgery is indicated when there is a large or Complicated Myelolipoma. We report the case of a large symptomatic adrenal myelolipoma discovered in a 50 year old woman.
Case report: We describe a case of an 8cm non-functional, and heterogenous right adrenal myelolipoma discovered on a routine computed tomography (CT) scan evaluation for cervical cancer in a 50 years old woman
Some Egyptian Medicinal Plants and Heart, and Blood Disease
Many medicinal plants have a significant effect upon the diseases, such as diabetes, skin, liver cancer, heart, respiratory, blood, and nervous system. Medicinal plants in Egypt contain a high concentration of secondary metabolites, according to suitable environmental conditions. The ancient Egyptians had written a lot of information about medicinal plants, their uses, and many drugs of these medicinal plants still used in medicine. Many medicinal plants are cleared on the wall of temples and in the papyri, famous Ebers papyrus that is written in 1550 B.C. cardiovascular diseases (CVD) defined according to the World Health Organization (WHO) as a defect of the circulatory system including heart and blood vessels. There are many types of CVD such as coronary heart disease (CHD), cerebrovascular disease, heart attacks, and strokes. The deposition of fatty substances, cellular waste, cholesterol, and other substances on the inner walls of blood vessels is the major cause of CVD, World Health Organization (2014). The aim of the present study is to clarification of some Egyptian medicinal plants for heart and, blood diseases such as Tropaeolum majus L. Distal Radius Fracture: A Systematic Review of Observational Studies
The purpose of this research is to analyze prevalence and incidence studies on the seasonality of trauma epidemiology with regard to distal radius fractures through a systematic review, in which cross-sectional and longitudinal studies were selected regarding the analysis of clinical and epidemiological variables associated with fractures of the distal radius. For this, MEDLINE®, LILACS, SCIELO and PUBMED platforms were used. From a total of 45,634 articles, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 18 scientific publications were eligible among the 64 read in full. According to the review, it appears that there is seasonality in distal radius fractures according to he seasons of the year. The decreased bone strength of these patients was associated with an increased risk of fracture in 10 years and individuals from a rural environment with less hospital support have a greater chance of not having an adequate post fracture follow-up
Vitamin-Medication and Post Vaccination Rabies Antibody Titres in Nigerian Dogs
Rabies antibody titres in dogs (aged ≥ 3 months) which had been vaccinated with the Ptovac® Anti- rabies vaccine brand and administered B-vitamins, post vaccination, in Nigeria, were assessed by passive haemagglutination (PHA) test. The groups were named: Treated with B-vitamins (Vetzyme®) for one day post vaccination; Treated with B-vitamins for two days post vaccination; Treated with B-vitamins for three days post vaccination and Control. Two weeks post vaccination, serum from each dog was tested for rabies antibodies by PHA. Antibody titres in the groups differed, significantly (P≥ 0.05), from 24.74±0.08 in the control to 64.08±0.03 in Treated with B-vitamins for one day post vaccination, 89.29±0.17 in Treated with B-vitamins for two days post vaccination and 140.73±0.14 in Treated with B-vitamins for three days post vaccination. Adopting post vaccination B-Vitamins` treatment and routine assessment of immune response of dogs to anti-rabies vaccinations could improve success of rabies control-efforts in the country
Orthostatic Pressure, Vessel Pressure and Neurofunctional Changes: A Correlation Study
In 1976 Edward Evarts "The languages of the brain introduction to neuropsychology" studied the behavior of certain neural mechanisms which are activated in the motor cortex and provide a mirror image of the force field external (orthostatism, variations of inertia in the actions). This type of neuron acts during muscle contraction. The confirmation came from the experiences made with monkeys who were trained to manipulate levers to which various weights were connected which opposed the pressure action. The recordings show that these brain areas are activated before the lever is pressed and that the electrical activity (electromyography) is proportional to the amount of force, pressure, necessary to overcome the resistance which, in the containers with the food, was greater.
The information on the pressure to be exerted (choice of the task and execution) is provided by the tension that arises from the adjustment, a kind of pre-regulation, which takes place in the agonist and antagonist muscles before the gesture (reaction), determining a state of cocontraction for effect of the Feed-forward control mechanism (in this phase the system oscillates like the needle of the balance, which subsequently stops on the exact weight). The aim is to contrast the weight with an adequate stiffness (consistency of the contractile structures) in times of the order of 0 milliseconds, to compensate for the delay of the proprioceptive feed-backs. It is probable, as Prof. Nikos Makris, that a kind of resonance is created between the oscillation frequencies of the peripheral structures with those of the brain areas.
From our study it emerges that a different approach to fatigue, considered as a signal, and not a value, has allowed us to modulate the work proposal, both at a sporting and rehabilitation level, in order to choose what to suggest, depending on a measurable and objective data obtained on resilience. This data allows you to choose whether to increase the load or reduce the tension, in order to reduce the entropy of the system, and therefore reduce energy expenditure in both the athlete and the neurological patient
Efficacy of Different Soil Amendments and Bio-Agents Against Fusarium Oxysporum f. sp. Lentis in Vitro & in Vivo
Five organic amendments were evaluated against wilt of lentil which were found more or less effective. Maximum disease control (42.85%) found in neem cake followed by mustard cake (38.23%), parthenium (32.90%), linseed cake (28.57%) and sawdust was least in reducing wilt (23.66%) in 2016- 17. Similar results were also observed in the year 2017-18.Inhibitory effect of bioagents was tested against Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lentis in vitro. Maximum(65.94%) mycelial growth was inhibited by Pseudomonas fluorescens followed by Bacillus subtilis (62.23%), T. viride (39.62%)and T. virense (39.22%).T. harzianum was found least effective inhibition of mycelia growth (35.65%) in dual plate technique. All five bio-agents evaluated against F. o. f. sp. lentis in vitro were also tested in vivo conditions, where they also were found effective in wilt management. Maximum disease control (42.10%) was recorded with P. fluorescens@ 10 g/kg seed followed by Bacillus subtilis (38.27%) @ 10 g/kg seed, T. viride (32.70%) @ 4 g/kg seed and T. virens (32.80%) @ 4 g/kg seed . T. harzianum was least effective in reducing wilt incidence (30.40%) @ 4 g/kg seed in 2016-17. Similar results were also observed in the year 2017-18. Disease incidence was maximum at 90 days after sowing as compared to 60 and 30 days after sowing in both the years
