The institutionaleffortwasimportant in terms of guaranteeing the conditions of permanenceduring the term of the SEE, with evenhigher rates compared to the periodimmediatelybefore the healthcrisis. However, althoughsuccess rates, understood as approval, were considered high, the studypointed out that the objective conditions of the teaching and learning processdid not satisfactorilyfulfil the conditions for acquiring the knowledgeprovided for in the coursecurricula

    Get PDF
The Toxicology Laboratory of the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Forenses de Guatemala -INACIF- is responsible for analysing the biological signs in the search for chemical substances, among which drugs are found. Because Laboratories constantly need to update their technology, it was necessary to implement a new chemiluminescence immunoassay technique using the Randox Evidence Investigator TM kit. This technique is useful as it provides accurate and reproducible results. To implement this technique, 10 blood samples with a positive result for drugs habitually detected in the Toxicology Laboratory and 10 blood samples with a negative result for drugs were analysed, said analysis gave as a result the fulfilment of what was expected for positive and negative drugs. The time invested in analysis was also evaluated, which was approximately 4 to 4.5 hours

    Design and Good Living

    Get PDF
Design and Good Living are interconnected concepts that promote quality of life, especially in vulnerable territories. Design acts as a tool for social change, creating aesthetic and functional solutions that meet physical, emotional, and cultural needs. Buen Vivir, based on the Andean indigenous worldview, prioritizes harmony between humans, nature, and the universe, focusing on peripheral communities. This article presents examples of the resignification of spaces in the global south, based on the theory of Biophilia by Edward Wilson, Stephen Kellert and Alberto Acosta, showing how biophilic design restores the human connection with nature, favoring Buen Vivir

    Get PDF
The Dja Biosphere Reserve is home to immense natural resources. Increasing poaching and other human activities like shifting cultivation and industrial agriculture are major problems in this area. This study addresses the need to explore attitude and perception of local residents toward wildlife and conservation. Questionnaires surveys and field observations were used in data collection. A total of 400 people was conveniently selected in 16 villages from October to December 2015. Data analysis relied mainly on factor analysis and structural equation modelling in SPSS 21 and Smart-PLS software. The main findings indicate a significant positive relationship between wildlife education, community wildlife sensitization and the local attitude on community involvement in conservation, which in turn have a strong and positive significant impact on the perception of the local people towards wildlife and conservation. Moreover, the perception of local people has a significant positive impact on the level of discipline towards wildlife and conservation. The results also suggest that local people perception index is not one-dimensional but can be considered as a three-dimensional construct affected by intention, wildlife threat and community involvement. Strategies aiming to change the perception of local people toward wildlife and conservation therefore need integrated approaches. This research points the involvement of local communities in wildlife management as an essential strategy to shape positive perception toward wildlife. Anti-poaching strategies will be easier if local people had a good perception towards wildlife and conservation. Wildlife education and sensitization are also essential in any conservation strategy, as they are key drivers of positive perception toward wildlife and conservation
