The Original Meanings of the Social Sciences as a Foundation for Illustrating a Renewed Reflection on their Current Situation and Future Challenges
The mere act of attempting to say something about the social sciences�their origin, history, development, and destiny�is, in itself, an ambitious and excessive endeavor. Who could even produce a state of the art of any of the disciplines or subdisciplines that today fall under that broad label? To say something meaningful in this regard, we would have to rely on the enormous collective efforts that some groups of scholars and certain institutions have undertaken in recent years (Wallerstein, I., 2006; Heilbron, J.; L. Magnusson & B. Wittrock, 1998; Porter, T. and D. Ross, 2003; UNESCO, 2010; UNESCO, 2013)
Resilience and Inclusion: Fostering Non-Violence in Education in Cameroon
The study investigates resilience and inclusive practices by non-violence education in Cameroon as the focal point. The essence of the study was to investigate the relationship between resilience, inclusion and non-violence within the educational context in Cameroon. It has been reflecting how the victims can navigate the challenge with resilience by non-violence. It emanated from a project on the effects of violence on students learning in Cameroon with the research question on their survival ability of such abuses. The study employed a cross-sectional design with a quantitative approach of data collection and processing. The sample participants comprised (n = 924) students randomly selected from eight secondary schools in one region of Cameroon with four schools chosen from the urban center and four others from the rural centre. These schools were used as the primary source of data collection for the study. The collection of data was undertaken with questionnaires that have been tested and validated through multinational and regional organizations, pilot studies, and different institutions. The structured questionnaires were used to elicit data from the participants. The collected data was analysed using JAMOVI. The study\u27s findings show high levels of violence with both genders suffering equally from the scourge. Furthermore, the male gender in the findings from some of the variables are more subservient and more affected by sexual violence, besides other violence strands such as structural, psychological, environmental and physical violence. These findings therefore introduce diverse probabilities and hypotheses. The subservient of males to sexual violence reduces schools to arenas of illicit sexual activities thereby compromising the learning, social justice and global values for the students. Looking forward, agencies should provide support to educational institutions in their efforts to assist students who are confronted with violence through the implementation of resilience, capacity building and inclusive practices. These practices will help in addressing discrimination among school communities, preventing violence, and cultivating an effective learning environment for all students, irrespective of their background. Analysis of Dynamic Characteristics of Straight Cylindricalgears based on Gyroscopic Effect
Purpose: The main objective of the study is to investigate the shaft plane inclination caused by bendingmoments and torsional vibrations during rotation without considering tooth friction.
Methods: The law of vortex effects on gear vibrations was also considered. A four-degree-of-freedomstraight-tooth cylindrical gear dynamics model was developed based on the gyroscopic effect. ANSYSWorkbench was used to perform the model\u27s finite element analysis, and Simulink was used for the simulationand analysis of the model.�
Results: The gyroscopic effect is being investigated to determine the variation law of the intrinsic characteristicsofstraight cylindrical gears. The dynamic characteristics of straight cylindrical gears with and without gyroscopiceffects were compared, and the impact of gyroscopic effects on straight cylindrical gear systems was discussed.
Conclusions: Forward and backward vortex phenomena can be observed under the influence of the gyroscopiceffect, as the intrinsic frequency increases with rotational speed. The results show that the gyroscopic effect significantly affects the translational and torsional vibrations of the master/follower wheel. It has a moresignificant impact on the torsional vibration displacement of the master wheel and the translational vibrationdisplacement of the follower wheel.
A Hybrid Multi-Attribute Framework for Optimizing Turnaround Inspection Scope in Oil and Gas Facilities
Purpose�� The purpose of this paper is to support operating facilities in identifying the appropriate and adequate initial turnaround (TA) inspection scope strategies and prioritizing operation, maintenance & engineering efforts to help deliver production operational targets by limiting the TA on to the equipment that internal inspection is necessary and avoid unnecessary replacement of internal parts (e.g., catalysts, desiccant, etc.) due to exposing the equipment to internal inspection. Furthermore, identify the inspections that can be performed non-intrusively and online, which can shorten the TA duration, minimize business interruption, and maximize plant availability.
Design/methodology/approach�� The case study was conducted using one of the most widely deployed risk models in the oil and gas industry, where a full assessment was performed on an offshore gas-producing platform
Effectiveness of Silica Fume as a Partial Cement Replacement in Recycled Aggregate Concrete
Recycled concrete aggregate (RAC) can be used in structural concrete to lessen the environmental impact of waste concrete and the use of natural resources. The current study summarized the mechanical performances of concrete and assessed the synergistic impacts of recycled aggregate, likely at 100% content, with silica fume (SF) partially substituting cement. The study\u27s primary variables included the dosage of silica fume used as a partial replacement of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) at five different percentages: 0%, 4%, 8%, 12%, and 16% by weight. Five distinct mixtures, designated RACSF-0, RACSF-4, RACSF-8, RACSF-12, and RACSF-16, were made using differing concentrations of silica fume for M30 concrete. The workability of concrete mixes was examined using the slump test.� After increasing the proportion of SF, a declining trend was observed in the test results.� The mechanical characteristics of RACSF were examined at 7 and 28 days using compressive and splitting tensile tests.� The results demonstrated that adding SF enhanced RACSF\u27s performance at both early and later curing ages, with the highest results occurring at 12% SF addition.� As a result, it is advised to partially substitute 12% SF for cement in RAC

Such systems support transportation schedule inquiries, social program registration, and educational material engagement via conventional telephone infrastructure instead of demanding broadband connections or advanced mobile devices. Widespread implementation requires thoughtful attention to information security protocols, recognition fairness across accent variations, and strategic language selection to prevent perpetuating societal imbalances. This contribution outlines system architectures, deployment methodologies, and performance assessment frameworks for developing genuinely inclusive conversational technologies that broaden digital participation across communication and technological boundaries
An Approach to Setting up Dataset for Winner-Domain Algorithm Selecting Teamers Participating in Vietnam National Competitions
The dataset of competitors� performance in some recent years is the input of winner-domain algorithm selecting good student as member of a subject team participating in Vietnam national prize. The data of learning performance features may be retrieved from the competitors� learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the collection of non-learning performance feature data of competitors meets challenges relating to the individual right and interviewees� cooperation for answering questionnaire. This research analyzed competitors� skills and lifestyle into very simple questions with very easy answer mode, without the deep relation to their individual lifestyle. The reply-matrix and reply-cube are formed to map simple answers of questionnaire reply into quantitative values. This approach may be flexibly applied to easily form the datasets of competitors� performance for various subjects in different years and at different levels of competitions
