The survey charted substance use related cases in social and health services on the second Tuesday of October in 2003. Professionals in social and health services recorded information on every client or patient who used the services on that day while intoxicated or because of some harm, such as an injury, relating to substance use, or were assessed by an employee to be a substance abuser. First, the substances the client had used (e.g. alcohol, cannabis, cocaine) as well as whether they had injected any drugs were charted. The occurrence of threatening or violent behaviour by the client in the social welfare or health care facility was examined, and mental health problems unrelated to substance use as well as gambling problems were surveyed. Next, the questionnaire contained some questions directed only at either outpatient care clients (questions 15-21) or inpatient care clients (questions 22-23). The questions aimed at outpatient care clients focused on, for example, whether they had made an appointment beforehand, what services were provided to them (e.g. advice, clinical procedure, therapeutic discussion) and the time used on the services. The questions aimed at inpatient care (overnight care) clients examined the length of the client's continuous treatment at the time of data collection (e.g. 1-3 days, over a month, 6-12 months) and the reason why the services required by the client were not provided as outpatient care (e.g. seriousness of injury, mental illness, preventing domestic violence). Background variables included the region where the social welfare or health care facility was located (NUTS3) and type of the facility as well as the client's gender, region of residence (NUTS3), marital status, age group, economic activity and occupational status, socio-economic status and housing tenure

Aineisto koostuu videopelejä pelaavien naisten kirjoituksista liittyen kohtaamiinsa ennakkoluuloihin. This dataset consists of 14 writings by female gamers on their experiences of prejudice. The participants were women who have faced prejudice, belittlement or criticism while playing video games or otherwise related to their gaming. In the invitation to write, the respondents were presented with some questions to help with writing. The respondents were asked about the effects their gender had had on their gaming, how people close to them felt about them playing video games, how often they experienced prejudice and who was prejudiced against them. The respondents were also offered a chance to describe what kinds of conflicts their gaming had caused in their lives. Additionally, the respondents were asked to specify the kinds of video games they played. Background information included, for instance, the respondent's gender, age, education, employment status, marital status and time spent gaming. The dataset is only available in Finnish

Kyselyn lopussa vastaajille esitettiin erilaisia väitteitä, joiden avulla selvitettiin, miten vastaajat suhtautuvat erilaisiin hoitokeinoihin. Taustamuuttujina ovat vastaajan sukupuoli, ikä, elämäntilanne, tulot, ammattiasema, koulutus, muutama erilainen aluemuuttuja, talouden koko ja lasten iät.The study examined Finnish views of alternative treatment methods and complementary therapy. Data collection was funded by the Finnish Medical Association, the Association of Finnish Pharmacies and Pharmaceutical Information Centre. First, the respondents were presented with a variety of treatment methods, and they were asked whether they believed that they could be used to treat illnesses or conditions (e.g. surgical operations, over-the-counter drugs, herbal medicines, acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, homeopathy, chiropractic, hypnosis, diet, prayer). The respondents were also asked which of the treatments they or members of their family had personally used or tried as well as to what extent they had proven helpful. Finally, the respondents were presented with the following statements with regard to a set of alternative treatments: whether the treatment should be generally accepted as a method of treatment, whether it should be regulated by legislation, whether the provider of the treatment should be liable for any damage caused, and whether providing the treatment to children or the seriously ill should be restricted by law. Background variables included gender, age, household composition, income, economic activity and occupational status, educational level, region of residence, number of inhabitants in municipality of residence, number of persons living in the household, and ages of children

The sociobarometer is a wide-ranging survey charting expert opinion on the welfare of Finnish citizens and the present state of welfare services in Finland. The 2018 sociobarometer is a special sociobarometer survey which charts the effects of the health and social services reform (sote reform) and the 2017 reform where responsibility for granting basic social assistance was transferred to the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) from municipal social welfare offices. The respondents were managers of municipal health and social service offices, the management of Kela, social workers and Kela employees. Funding for the study consisted of funding granted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment to the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela) for the purpose of conducting the survey as well as funding the Finnish Federation for Social Affairs and Health (SOSTE) received from Veikkaus. First, the survey charted opinions on the income security system and the development of social inequality in Finland over the past 10 years. The managers of municipal health and social service offices, social workers and the management of Kela were presented with various statements concerning the income security system (e.g. whether they thought that the level of different benefits was too low and sanctions related to social assistance lead to inequality). They were also asked to put several goals of the basic social assistance reform in order of importance. The next theme concerned the health and social services reform (sote reform), and questions were presented to managers of municipal health and social service offices, social workers and the management of Kela. The respondents were asked for their opinion on a system that would guarantee universal basic income for all persons permanently residing in Finland and on the health and social services reform in general. Additionally, managers of municipal health and social service offices and social workers were asked how different aspects of the reform had succeeded and what factors had affected its success. The survey also examined views on how costs of the reform could be kept down in the long run (e.g. increasing preventive services and e-services, outsourcing services), and what effects the so-called freedom of choice for customers would have on e.g. the availability and quality of services. Some questions also focused on how likely the respondents thought various effects of the reform were from the viewpoint of health and welfare promotion (hyte) in municipalities and how well cooperation between organisations in health and welfare promotion was achieved at the time of the survey. Finally, questions surveyed the respondents' attitudes towards the 2017 transfer of the responsibility for granting basic social assistance from municipal social welfare offices to Kela. The respondents were asked whether they thought it was the right call to transfer the responsibility to Kela for granting and paying basic social assistance. The respondents were also asked to what extent they agreed or disagreed on a set of statements regarding what effects had been caused by the transfer (e.g. whether the transfer had increased/decreased administrative costs, lowered the threshold of applying for social assistance, sped up getting a decision for social assistance, or reduced bureaucracy). Opinions on the cooperation between Kela and social services and the sufficiency of expertise at Kela regarding social work were also charted. Additionally, all respondents were asked whether they were concerned about the circumstances of some population group in relation to the basic social assistance transfer. Background variables included, depending on the respondent group, time spent in current role, educational background, qualification, and major region or insurance district

Taustamuuttujana on kyselyyn vastaajan asema. The study charted the activities and work of national youth organisations in Finland. The study is part of the Vetovoima project conducted in 2014-2015 by the Finnish National Youth Council Allianssi, funded by Ministry of Education and Culture. First, the respondents were asked about their organisation's objectives for youth work, for example, organising leisure time activities, influencing society and representing the interests of young people. The funding received from different sources, such as Ministry of Education and Culture, Finland's Slot Machine Association (RAY) and the EU, was examined. Some questions focused on the role of young people in the organisations. The number of new members, both in total and of those under the age of 29, was charted, and the most important reasons for young people to join the organisation (e.g. the will to support the organisation's work, membership benefits, will to do voluntary work in the organisation) were examined. Additionally, the number of young people under the age of 29 that participated in the organisation's youth work activities, volunteered to organise activities, and participated in the administration, decision-making and activity planning of the organisation was charted. Next, questions regarding the organisation's staff and trainees were asked. The distribution of age, gender and belonging to a minority (e.g. religious or ethnic minority, being disabled) of young people participating in activities, administration, decision-making and volunteering in the organisation was also examined. Finally, the respondents were presented with some attitudinal statements concerning, for example, whether they thought their organisation needed more adult volunteers or the main goal of their organisation was activating young people. Background variables included the respondent's status in their organisation, the organisation's structure and the level at which youth work and activities were mainly organised by the organisation (national, district etc.)

Aluksi vastaajilta kysyttiin, kuinka tärkeinä he pitävät oikeudenmukaisuutta, erilaisuutta ja eriarvoisuutta käsitteleviä periaatteita. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka usein he joutuvat työskentelemään ammattieettisten periaatteiden vastaisesti ja kokevatko he epäoikeudenmukaisuutta organisaation toimintatavoissa. Lisäksi vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan omaa työhyvinvointiaan. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin vastaajien mahdollisuuksista toteuttaa yhteiskunnallista vaikuttamista nykyisessä työssään. Väittämillä selvitettiin esimerkiksi mahdollisuuksia osallistua yhteiskunnalliseen keskusteluun ja vaikuttaa oman organisaation toimintakäytäntöihin. Tämän jälkeen pyydettiin arvioimaan, kuinka tärkeänä he pitävät edellä mainittujen tehtävien toteuttamista työssään. Vastaajilta kysyttiin, mihin päämääriin sosiaalityön yhteiskunnallinen vaikuttaminen tulisi ensisijaisesti kohdistaa. Vastaajille esitettiin useita työhön liittyviä kysymyksiä, joilla selvitettiin muun muassa nykyisen organisaation ja työyhteisön suhtautumista yhteiskunnalliseen vaikuttamiseen sekä vastaajan yhteiskunnallisen asiantuntemuksen hyödyntämistä kehittämistyössä. Lopuksi kysyttiin vastaajan kiinnostuksesta, mahdollisuuksista ja aktiivisuudesta yhteiskunnalliseen vaikuttamiseen. Taustamuuttujina ovat vastaajan syntymävuosi, työpaikan toimiala, työpaikan sijaintikunta, työkokemus sosiaalityöntekijänä, työkokemus nykyisessä tehtävässä, työsuhteen laatu, sosiaalityöntekijän pätevyys, korkein koulutus, valmistumisvuosi ja opiskelu tällä hetkellä.The study charted occupational values and work conditions of Finnish social workers in Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa, as well as their views on constructive social work and political influencing. First, the respondents were asked how important they personally considered different principles concerning inequality, diversity and equity. It was examined how often the respondents came across situations at work where they had to act against their ethical principles, how often they felt that the way their organisation operated contradicted their personal values, and how often they witnessed problems built into society or their organisation that affected the clients' situations negatively. Additionally, the respondents were asked to assess their own workplace well-being. Next, it was examined whether the respondents had opportunities in their current work to influence political decision-making, to participate in societal discussions and to impact the organisation's practices. The respondents were also asked to assess how important they considered being able to influence different aspects of political decision-making in their work. The respondents' opinions were charted on which objectives should be prioritised in political influencing by municipal social work organisations. Several questions examined the organisations' attitudes toward political influencing and their preparedness in utilising social workers' expertise in the development of services. The survey also charted the respondents' own interest and experience in political influencing. Finally, attitudinal statements examined the respondents' opinions on the role of social work and reasons behind poverty. Background variables included year of birth (categorised), field of social work, municipality where the workplace is located, years of experience as a social worker (categorised), years of experience in current job (categorised), type of employment contract, social worker qualification, level of education, year when R had graduated (categorised), and whether R was studying to become a social worker at the time of the survey

The survey charted substance use related cases in social and health services on the second Tuesday of October in 2019. Professionals in social and health services recorded information on every client or patient who used the services on that day while intoxicated or because of some harm, such as an injury, relating to substance use, or were assessed by an employee to be a substance abuser. In 2019, information was collected from prisons and community sanctions offices in addition to social welfare and health care facilities. First, the client's intoxication was surveyed. If the client visited outpatient care, whether they had made an appointment before coming to the facility was charted. For inpatient care clients, the length of their continuous treatment at the time of data collection was charted. The daily use of products containing nicotine (e.g. cigarettes, snuff) and the substances the client had used in the past 12 months (e.g. alcohol, cannabis, cocaine) were examined. The client's simultaneous polydrug use (the simultaneous or concurrent use of two or more substances within a short time period) and whether they had ever during their life injected drugs were also surveyed. Next, the client's primary reason for using social and health services (e.g. injury, withdrawal symptoms, substance abuse problems) and the services provided to the client (e.g. helping with life management problems, intervention, detoxication) were surveyed. The occurrence of threatening or violent behaviour by the client in the facility was also examined, and mental health problems unrelated to substance use as well as gambling problems were charted. Background variables included, among others, the collection mode of the questionnaire, location and region (NUTS3) of the facility as well as type and sector of the facility and the language primarily used in the facility. Additionally, background variables included the client's gender, country of birth, location and region (NUTS3) of residence, marital status, age group, economic activity and occupational status, housing tenure and whether they had children under 18 years of age. Finally, information on whether the questionnaire was filled out in a Criminal Sanctions Agency facility or in a social welfare or health care facility was included

Festivaalibarometri on toistettava tutkimus, jonka tarkoituksena on ollut koota tietoa suomalaisista rytmimusiikkifestivaalien kävijöistä ja seurata kävijöiden musiikki- ja festivaalimieltymysten muuttumista vuosien kuluessa. Tässä aineistossa on vuosien 2014 ja 2016 Festivaalibarometrien vastauksia. Tutkimuksessa mukana olevat kohdefestivaalit ovat Blockfest (Tampere), Flow Festival (Helsinki), Ilosaarirock (Joensuu), Jurassic Rock (Mikkeli), Kuopio RockCock (Kuopio), Pori Jazz, Provinssi (Seinäjoki), Qstock (Oulu), Ruisrock (Turku), Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (Helsinki) ja Weekend Festival (Helsinki). Vuoden 2014 Festivaalibarometrissa olivat mukana Seinäjoen ammattikorkeakoulun TATU2-hanke sekä Turun yliopiston kauppakorkeakoulun ja Taideyliopiston JOHDE II -hanke. Vuoden 2016 Festivaalibarometria on tukenut Taideyliopiston Sibelius-Akatemian Seinäjoen yksikkö. Ensin kyselyssä selvitettiin, mille kotimaisille festivaaleille vastaaja on osallistunut kyselyvuonna ja muutamana aikaisempana vuonna. Lisäksi kysyttiin, miten kiinnostavina vastaaja pitää eri kotimaisia festivaaleja ja pyydettiin arvioimaan suurimpien suomalaisten festivaalien yleistä tasoa muun muassa ohjelmiston ja palveluiden osalta. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin, mikä saisi osallistumaan festivaaleille useammin. The festival barometer aims to collect information on Finnish festival visitors and the changes that occur in their taste in music and festivals over the years. This study includes the surveys for the 2014 and 2016 festival barometers. The music festivals examined include Blockfest (Tampere), Flow Festival (Helsinki), Ilosaarirock (Joensuu), Jurassic Rock (Mikkeli), Kuopio RockCock (Kuopio), Pori Jazz, Provinssi (Seinäjoki), Qstock (Oulu), Ruisrock (Turku), Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (Helsinki) and Weekend Festival (Helsinki). The Lapland Institute for Tourism Research participated in conducting both barometers. Additionally, in 2014, the TATU2 project by the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and the JOHDE II project by the Turku School of Economics and the University of the Arts Helsinki were involved in conducting the barometer. In 2016, the barometer was conducted together with the Seinäjoki Unit of the Sibelius Academy (a unit of the University of the Arts Helsinki). First, the respondents were asked which Finnish festivals they had visited during the past few years and how interesting they thought various Finnish festivals were. Opinions on the general quality of various aspects of the biggest Finnish festivals, such as performers, food and drink services, security, and marketing, were charted. Next, the respondents were asked whether they would attend festivals more often if various preconditions were fulfilled (e.g. if the performers were more interesting, tickets were cheaper, travelling to the festival was easier, cheaper or faster, or more information was available on festivals). Some questions focused on the significance of several aspects for achieving a successful festival experience, for example, positive surprises in performances, diverse food and drink services, clean bathrooms, and the values represented by the festival. The respondents' opinions on how much festival products and services should cost were surveyed next. The products and services surveyed included, for instance, a three-day admission ticket for a festival with domestic performers, a quality portion of food served in the festival area, and a glass of beer or cider served in the festival area. The respondents were also asked how likely it was that they would visit a festival next year, in five years or in ten years. The respondents' taste in music (e.g. how interesting they thought pop, rock, punk or jazz music was) as well as their relationship with music (e.g. whether music was one of the most important things in their life and whether they actively recommended artists, songs or albums to their friends) were examined.
