Aineistossa kahdeksasluokkalaiset kertovat mielipiteitään valtakunnallisen Taidetestaajat-hankkeen puitteissa koetuista taidevierailuista. Aineistoa on kerätty kymmenessä koulussa eri puolilla Suomea ja ryhmähaastatteluihin osallistui kaikkiaan hieman yli sata nuorta ennen vierailuja sekä niiden jälkeen. Taidetestaajat-hankkeessa hankkeen kolmen ensimmäisen vuoden (2017-2020) ajan kaikki Suomen kahdeksasluokkalaiset pääsivät osallistumaan kahteen taide- tai kulttuurikokemukseen, toiseen lähellä asuinpaikkakuntaa ja toiseen pääkaupunkiseudulla. Retkien kohteita olivat muun muassa näytelmät, musikaalit, konsertit ja sirkus. Tavoitteena oli tarjota tasa-arvoisesti kaikille nuorille mahdollisuus taidekokemuksiin eri lajien parissa sekä tuoda taide nuorille helpommin lähestyttäväksi. Aineistonkeruun aikaan hanketta rahoittivat Suomen kulttuurirahasto sekä Svenska Kulturfondet. Tutkimuksen, jonka puitteissa aineisto kerättiin, toteutti Nuorisotutkimusverkosto. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja on helppo selata. This dataset consists of transcribed group interviews with eight-graders who participated in the Art Testers campaign. Interviews were conducted in ten schools in different parts of Finland before and after the students had visited art performances or exhibitions. In total, a little over 100 students participated in the group interviews. The Art Testers Campaign is a cultural initiative directed at young people in Finland. During the 2017-2020 academic years, every eighth-grader, three age groups in total, were offered two pre-arranged visits to performances and exhibitions, such as plays, musicals, concerts and circus performances. One visit took place in their own region and the other in the capital region. The aim of the campaign is to provide young people with an opportunity to experience art, including the kind of art many would have no access to. During data collection for this dataset, the campaign was funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation and Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland. The study for which the data were collected was conducted by the Finnish Youth Research Network. The first interview, conducted before the eight-graders took part in the campaign, surveyed the students' expectations for the campaign and the role of art and culture in their life. The interviewees also discussed their leisure time and life at school more generally. In the second interview, conducted after the eight-graders had completed their visits, the interviewees' opinions on the visits were surveyed. The interviewees discussed practical arrangements related to the visits as well as the content of the visit. Additionally, the eight-graders' views on the necessity of the campaign were charted. Background information included the date of the interview, interview group id, whether the interview was conducted before or after the campaign, municipality or region, and interviewer. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

Luonteeltaan haastattelut olivat puolistrukturoituja teemahaastatteluita. Arkistoinnin yhteydessä taustatiedoista tuotettiin erillinen html-hakemisto, jonka avulla aineistoa on helppo selata. This dataset consists of transcribed expert interviews on the use of public art in regional planning and development. The interviewees included representatives of private development or consulting companies working in Finland, experts on public art, and one urban activist working in the third sector. The interviews covered themes such as the economic value of art projects commissioned as part of area development projects and the impact of public art. The interviews were conducted as semi-structured theme interviews. The themes of the interview were sent to the participants in advance, and the order of the themes and the emphasis placed on them varied slightly depending on the interviewee. The representatives of private development or consulting firms worked in the capital area, and their interviews focused more on the profitability of art investments in regional development. The art experts interviewed in the data were located all over Finland, and the main themes in their interviews focused on the identity and competitive strength of urban areas and the amenity of residents. Additionally, each interviewee was asked about the regional development and art projects they had personally been involved in. If there was time at the end of the interview, the interviewees were also asked to comment on two previous studies on the use of art in development projects. The data were collected as part of the Creative Expertise project coordinated by the European Social Fund (ESF) and Ornamo Art and Design Finland. Background information included, for instance, the interviewee's occupation, gender, industry of employment, and municipality of residence. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

Kultakin 50 yhdyskuntaseuraamusasiakkaalta on pyritty taltioimaan kaksi tapaamista. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla kirjoituksia on helppo selata. This dataset consists of counselling session discussions between community sanctions offices employees and clients regarding the client's substance use and the causes and consequences connected to it. The aim was to record two meetings for each of the 50 clients. The data were collected as part of a research project on the adherence of motivational interviewing in the initial substance abuse setting and its effect on clients' substance abuse harm reduction (the MISA project), funded by the Academy of Finland, Criminal Sanctions Agency and Finnish Foundation for Alcohol Studies. The discussions included in this dataset were conducted according to the Behaviour-Interviewing-Change (BIC) program. This qualitative dataset consists of transcriptions of the client meeting discussions. This dataset can be connected to the quantitative dataset FSD3369 Substance Abuse Treatment in Community Sanctions Offices: Pre- and Post-treatment Surveys 2007-2010, which consists of a pre-treatment survey, evaluations of the counselling session discussions by both the counsellor and the client, post-treatment surveys, and background information surveys for both the client and the employee. The respondents in the two datasets can be connected with a unique client number. The discussions examined the client's objectives regarding their substance use, their motivation to stop or reduce their use of substances, and their motivation to change their criminal lifestyle. The counsellors and clients also discussed the client's situation in life more widely, focusing on their family, employment and health. During the meetings, the clients completed the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), which was then discussed between the counsellor and client. Conducted according to the BIC program, the first discussion charted the client's aspirations and hopes for their life, and the second discussion compared the advantages and disadvantages of using substances to stopping or reducing their use. Most of the clients in the data identified alcohol as their principal opiate, but the data include users of cannabis, amphetamine and buprenorphine as well. Background information for this dataset included the following information based on the quantitative dataset: unique client number, date of client meeting, categorised age of the client, the client's gender, marital status, principal opiate and whether the client had children. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

The aim of the campaign was to increase the meaning and importance of art and culture in people's lives and in social and health services communities. Participation in the campaign was possible for both individuals and communities. Art and culture and the activities related to them were defined by the participants. This dataset consists of responses to two forms that were completed by participating communities before and after participating in the campaign. The campaign was funded and conducted by the Arts Promotion Centre Finland (TAIKE). Approximately 70 participating communities completed the first form before participating in the campaign and consented to the archiving of their responses. The contact persons for the communities discussed the role of art and culture in their organisation at the starting point of the campaign as well as their expectations for the campaign. Additionally, 12 participating communities completed the second form after participating in the campaign and consented to the archiving of their responses. In the responses to the second form, the contact persons discussed whether art and culture had become a part of the everyday life of the community, whether their expectations regarding the campaign had realised, and what kinds of effects the campaign had had in their organisation. Additionally, the contact persons described how their organisation intended to continue including art and culture in their activities. Background information included the date when the form was completed, the municipality where the community was located, and a brief description of the activities and tasks of the community. Työolobarometrit selvittävät suomalaisen työelämän laatua palkansaajien näkökulmasta. Vuoden 2018 työolobarometri käsitteli mm. työpaikan henkilöstössä ja omassa työnkuvassa tapahtuneita muutoksia, vaikutusmahdollisuuksia, sosiaalista mediaa, syrjintää, työpaikkakiusaamista, työkykyä sekä työntekijöiden näkemyksiä omasta työtilanteesta ja työelämän kehityksestä. Työolobarometrien sisältö on pysynyt pääosin samanlaisena eri vuosina. The annual survey studied employee opinion on the quality of working life in Finland. Main themes included organisation of work, development opportunities and flexibility, learning and training at work, wages, workplace bullying, capacity to work, and changes in working life. Questions in the barometer have mainly remained the same each year. The 2018 collection round included new questions regarding job-related training and opportunities to develop the knowledge and competence of employees. First, the respondents were asked about the number of people employed at their workplace, changes in the number of staff, distribution of work and tasks, and implementation of new working methods and systems over the past 12 months. Satisfaction in the working environment was charted with questions about openness, encouragement and equality in the workplace, job stability, and opportunities for employees to develop and apply new ideas. Further questions covered measures taken to improve employees' capacity to work, safety of work environment, and skills of employees. Discrimination at work based on ethnic group, age, gender, type of job contract, and health status was explored. Incidents of bullying, harassment and violence at work were surveyed. The next set of questions investigated the respondents' membership in a trade union or professional association, flexible working time arrangements at the workplace, pay and bonus systems, and satisfaction with the pay level. The respondents' participation in job-related training and the contents of the training (e.g. IT, leadership skills, communication skills) were surveyed. The development of the workplace was also investigated. The use of virtual workspaces and social media services such as Facebook, Twitter and blogs as part of work tasks was charted. Autonomy at work was surveyed by asking about influence over own work tasks and working pace, over the distribution of work in the workplace, and about working to a tight schedule. The respondents were asked about working outside the main workplace as well as work-related calls, emails and messages they had had to attend to outside their official working hours in the past 12 months. One set of questions investigated the employees' perceived workload, capacity to work, estimates of own mental and physical capacity to work, and sickness absences. The respondents were asked how likely they thought it was that they would be dismissed or temporarily laid off, or that their tasks would change over the next year. Views were probed on the respondents' likelihood of getting an equal job if they became unemployed, on the general employment situation in Finland, possible changes in working life in general, and the employer's financial situation. Finally, the respondents were asked how often they felt a community spirit at work, received appreciation from colleagues and partners, were able to fully utilise their professional skills, and had time to come up with new ideas. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's year of birth, age, gender, status in employment, employer type, weekly working hours, industry of employment, overtime, type of contract, and socioeconomic status

The Citizens' Pulse surveys examine Finnish attitudes and opinions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Main themes in the surveys include the activity and communication of authorities, compliance with regulations, future expectations, trust, and the respondents' own state of mind. The tenth collection round of 2021 surveyed the respondents' opinions on the reliability of the information provided by various Finnish authorities (e.g. the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare) and members of various groups (e.g. health care employees, researchers) on the coronavirus crisis. The respondents were asked to evaluate how fair or unfair they thought Finnish society was at present and how well Finnish authorities (including the Government, Ministries, and other authorities such as the police and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare) had been prepared for epidemics such as COVID-19. The respondents' state of mind was examined with questions on various matters relating to health and well-being. The questions covered, for example, whether the respondents were worried about their own risk or the risk of people close to them contracting COVID-19, the availability of health care for them and people close to them for issues unrelated to COVID-19, and their own mental well-being. Additionally, the respondents' concerns were charted with questions regarding livelihood and everyday life (e.g. whether they were worried about the adequacy of their income or the income of people close to them, the uncertainty regarding how long the exceptional circumstances would last, and their children's schooling). Next, the respondents' confidence in their future and experiences of stress were surveyed. The respondents were asked to evaluate whether an atmosphere of crisis prevailed amongst Finns. The availability and findability of relevant information on the coronavirus crisis was charted. Compliance with coronavirus restrictions was examined by asking the respondents whether they had followed the restrictions and recommendations set by authorities for preventing transmission of the virus, including maintaining safe distances, washing hands regularly, wearing a face mask, avoiding touching the eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands, using a hand sanitiser when it was available in public places, and minimising contacts with people outside immediate family and friends. Finally, the respondents' views on the coronavirus vaccine were surveyed, including whether they would be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine for themselves or for their children. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age group, NUTS3 region of residence, highest level of education, household composition, and perceived financial situation of household

The questions covered, for example, whether the respondents were worried about their own risk or the risk of people close to them of falling ill with COVID-19, the availability of health care for them and people close to them for issues unrelated to COVID-19, and their own mental well-being. Additionally, the respondents' concerns were charted with questions regarding livelihood and everyday life (e.g. whether they were worried about the adequacy of their income or the income of people close to them, the uncertainty regarding how long the exceptional circumstances would last, and their children's schooling). Next, the respondents' trust in their future and experiences of stress were surveyed. The respondents were asked to evaluate whether an atmosphere of crisis prevailed amongst Finns. The availability and findability of relevant information on the coronavirus crisis was charted. Compliance with coronavirus restrictions was examined by asking the respondents whether they had observed the restrictions and recommendations set by authorities for preventing transmission of the virus, including maintaining safe distances, washing hands regularly, wearing a face mask, avoiding touching the eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands, using a hand sanitiser when available in public places, and minimising contacts with people outside immediate family and friends. The respondents' views on the coronavirus vaccine and on whether people's freedom of movement should be restricted because of COVID-19 were also surveyed. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age group, NUTS3 region of residence, highest level of education, household composition, and perceived financial situation of household

Vuoden 2021 kahdeksannen kierroksen kyselyssä kartoitettiin, kuinka oikeudenmukaisena vastaajat pitävät suomalaista yhteiskuntaa sekä kuinka hyvin he kokevat viranomaisten varautuneen koronan kaltaiseen tautiepidemiaan. The Citizens' Pulse surveys examine Finnish attitudes and opinions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Next, the respondents' confidence in their future and experiences of stress were surveyed, and the respondents were asked to evaluate whether an atmosphere of crisis prevailed amongst Finns. The survey charted the career and employment situations of people who had graduated from Finnish universities with a lower (BA/BSc or equivalent) or higher (MA/MSc or equivalent) degree in 2013. The survey was conducted five years after graduation. The first part investigated the respondents' education and work history. They were asked whether they had, after graduation, participated in job-related training, career guidance or any additional professional qualification or higher education studies. The respondents were asked whether they agreed or disagreed with a set of attitudinal statements regarding their degree and its usefulness for employment. Further questions covered how many employers the respondents had had, whether the respondents had been entrepreneurs, self-employed or freelancers, and whether they had been outside the labour market because of a family leave or unemployment. The respondents' satisfaction with their career thus far was charted, along with current occupational status, type of employer, and type of current work tasks. The respondents were also asked whether their current job required an academic degree, whether it was commensurate with their qualification, and if not, why they had accepted the job. It was also examined to what extent the respondents had been able to utilise knowledge and skills gained during their university studies. Monthly gross income at the time of the survey was charted. Next, the respondents were asked which factors had had an impact on their employment after graduation (e.g. major/minor subjects, internship, work experience, personal networks). Questions also covered how important certain skills and know-how were in the respondents' current job and how well their studies had developed these skills (e.g. theoretical or practical knowledge of their field, problem solving, managerial skills, negotiation skills, project management, and communication in English). Background variables included the respondent's gender, age at the time of graduation (categorised), monthly gross income (top-coded), NUTS3 region of residence, the university they attended, and information on the degree (field of study, number of credits required for the degree, degree level)
