Kysyttiin myös kuinka oikeudenmukaisena he pitävät suomalaista yhteiskuntaa. The Citizens' Pulse surveys examine Finnish attitudes and opinions in the context of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). Main themes in the surveys include the activity and communication of authorities, compliance with regulations, future expectations, trust, and the respondents' own state of mind. This collection round also included questions about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and preparing for crisis situations. The sixth collection round of 2022 surveyed the respondents' trust in various institutions (e.g. the Finnish Government, the health care system, the media, and the Finnish Defence Forces). The respondents were asked to evaluate how fair or unfair they thought Finnish society was at present, and their state of mind was examined with questions on various matters relating to health, well-being, and situation in life. The questions covered, for example, the respondents' mental well-being, whether they were worried about the adequacy of their income, their confidence in their future, experiences of stress and togetherness, and whether they felt their lives were meaningful and safe. Additionally, the respondents were asked whether an atmosphere of crisis prevailed amongst Finns and how Finland applying to join NATO had impacted the respondents' sense of safety. The next set of questions focused on the Russian invasion of Ukraine and crisis situations in general. In relation to the Ukraine crisis, the respondents were, for example, asked about their sense of security, worries caused by the crisis and its possible impact on the Finnish economy and their own financial situation, and whether they were concerned that the war might expand beyond Ukraine. Opinions on the economic sanctions imposed on Russia by the EU, how well authorities had been prepared for crises like the crisis in Ukraine, and whether the uncertainty caused by the Ukraine crisis had impacted the respondents' consumer behaviour were charted. The respondents were also asked whether they had noticed any cyber security issues or instances where purposefully misleading claims based on misinformation were spread on social media or online over the previous month. On the topics of communication and dissemination of information, the respondents' opinions on the availability, reliability and accuracy of the information provided by Finnish authorities on the coronavirus crisis were charted. Compliance with coronavirus restrictions was examined by asking the respondents whether they had followed the restrictions and recommendations set by authorities for preventing transmission of the virus, including maintaining safe distances, wearing a face mask, and minimising contact with other people. The respondents were also asked how necessary they felt it was to follow measures such as wearing a mask and maintaining safe distances after receiving two or three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age group, NUTS3 region of residence, highest level of education, household composition, and perceived financial situation of household

Aineisto koostuu lapsuuden aikaisia pelkoja kuvaavista kirjoituksista. Arkistoinnin yhteydessä taustatiedoista tuotettiin erillinen html-hakemisto, jonka avulla aineistoa on helppo selata. The dataset consists of self-administered written texts on childhood fears. Participants were invited to write about their childhood fears and about the places to which their childhood fears were connected. The study aimed to collect data about the places where participants remembered experiencing fear and anxiety during their childhoods. The experiences of fear and anxiety could be unwanted or purposefully sought out. The data were collected as part of two research projects. The first project, which was funded by the Academy of Finland, studied children's abilities to process feelings of insecurity. The second project was funded by Kone Foundation and it investigated the significance of peer relationships in children's lives. The writing guidelines included questions to facilitate writing. Participants were asked whether they had avoided certain places due to fear, whether someone had warned them against or frightened them about certain places, and whether they had deliberately sought out suspense and fear when they were children. Participants were also invited to describe the ways in which they had tried to cope with the frightening places and situations and to consider whether their gender had affected their childhood experiences of fear. Background information included the participant's gender, age group, and the type of municipality the participant had lived in during childhood. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

Seuraavaksi kysyttiin, mikä on kirkon rooli ilmastonmuutoksen torjunnassa. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin kirkollisten toimien määrän, kuten kasteiden, vähenemisestä ja kirkon toimista niiden lisäämiseksi. Lisäksi esitettiin väittämiä kummiuteen ja kummien tukemiseen liittyen. Papeilta kysyttiin kasteeseen liittyvistä käytännöistä. Omaa arjen uskonnollisuutta kartoitettiin henkilökohtaiseen hartauselämään liittyvillä kysymyksillä, kuten mitkä ovat vastaajalle hengellisesti merkityksellisimpiä teoksia tai vaikuttajia. Lopuksi kysyttiin tutkimustiedon käytöstä työssä. Taustamuuttujina ovat syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, työtehtävät, pääasiallinen työala, työskentelyn kesto kirkon tai kirkollisen järjestön palveluksessa, työskentelyseurakunnan koko, hiippakunta, työskenteleekö kaupungissa vai maaseudulla, vuoden 2019 eduskuntavaaleissa äänestämä puolue ja herätysliikkeeseen tai kristilliseen järjestöön kuuluminen. The church employee survey studied the views of people working in the parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Main themes of the survey included voluntary work in and the culture of the parish, the future of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland and current issues in the church, managerial duties and equality in the church, the Marriage Act, climate change, church services, religiosity in everyday life, and utilising research data in parish work. First, the survey examined parish activities and the role of parishes in Finnish society. The respondents were asked how well several statements described the activities of their parish, for example, whether parish work occurred in different kinds of networks outside the parish (e.g. schools and organisations) and whether the parish paid special attention in the activities to those at risk of exclusion. The role of volunteers and voluntary work in the parish were charted next with statements on, for example, whether the volunteers were independent in innovating and organising parish activities and whether work tasks for volunteers were planned in cooperation with parish employees. Views on the future of the church and current issues were surveyed regarding different ways of managing the deteriorating economy of parishes (e.g. raising the church tax, selling property), where parish resources for helping those in need should be primarily directed (e.g. supporting families in crisis, mitigating poverty, helping the lonely and sick), and whether the church should always offer aid to refugees. Opinions on managerial duties and equality in the church were examined next with various statements. The statements included, for example, whether the respondents thought more women should be in managerial positions in the church and whether the status of sexual and gender minorities in the church should be improved. The respondents' views on the Marriage Act were surveyed (e.g. whether the church should continue to only officiate opposite-sex marriages or also officiate same-sex marriages), and opinions on the role of the church in mitigating climate change were charted (e.g. whether the church should guide people to change their way of living to be more sustainable). The respondents were also asked about parish services in general and specifically relating to baptism and the role of godparents. If the respondent was a pastor (a priest), they were asked further questions on their personal practices regarding baptism. Next, religiosity in the respondents' everyday life was surveyed. The respondents were asked, for example, whether prayers or meditation were a regular part of their life, which books were spiritually most significant for them (excluding holy books of religions), and who were the most significant spiritual influencers for them. Finally, the respondents were asked about utilising research data in their work as elected officials in the parish (e.g. where they found research data on the church, whether they actively searched for it, and what types of analysis and reports they thought they needed for their work in the church). The background variables included the respondent's year of birth, gender, job title, main field of work, how long R had worked as an elected official in the parish, number of persons in the parish, diocese, type of municipality (urban or rural), political party R had voted for in the 2019 parliamentary elections, and whether R belonged to a revivalist movement or a Christian organisation

Lisäksi vastaajat kertoivat, mitä pelejä he pääasiallisesti pelaavat, pelaavatko he yksilö- vai joukkuepelejä sekä millä konsolilla he yleensä pelaavat. The survey charted the physical training and gaming activities of professional and aspiring competitive eSports players in Finland. The original study was conducted internationally, so the data and questionnaire are only available in English. First, the respondents were asked whether eSports was their primary source of income and how long they had been a professional eSports player. Additionally, the respondents were asked which game they mainly played in a competitive manner, whether they played as an individual or in a team, and on which platform (e.g. computer, gaming console, smartphone) they mainly played competitively. The respondents' physical training was examined with questions on how long they spent on training in general and physical training specifically in a day, whether there was any variation in their training between on-season and off-season, and who had planned their training program. The reasons why the respondents did physical training were also surveyed, and they were asked whether they thought that doing physical training had affected their performance level in eSports. Finally, the respondents were asked whether they thought they did more physical training than their teammates and whether the physical appearance of an eSports player could influence the competitive performance of others. Background variables included the respondent's age, level of education, household composition, level of income, and nationality

Aluksi vastaajilta kysyttiin, kuinka hyvin he kokevat saavuttavansa haluamiaan asioita elämässä ja millaiseen yhteiskunnalliseen asemaan he itsensä sijoittavat. Lisäksi kartoitettiin, kokevatko vastaajat luottavansa muihin ihmisiin, ovatko he saaneet toimeentulotukea sekä kuinka hyvin he kokevat saavansa taloutensa kulut katetuiksi. The survey charted Finnish opinions on and experiences of welfare and inequality. The study was part of a project entitled Tackling Inequalities in Time of Austerity (TITA) funded by the Strategic Research Council of the Academy of Finland (decision numbers: 293103 and 314250), as well as the Inequalities, Interventions and a New Welfare State (INVEST) project funded by the Academy of Finland (decision number: 320162). First, the respondents were asked about their life satisfaction, mood, ability to achieve goals, perceived status in society and trust in other people. Feelings of loneliness, depression, failure, and happiness in the previous 12 months were also charted. Regarding income and personal finance, net income of the household and the ease of covering usual expenses with the income were surveyed. The respondents were asked whether they had received social assistance (minimum income scheme) in the previous year. The respondents' sense of safety was examined with questions on how often they interacted with or helped their neighbours, how safe they felt it was to walk outside in their own neighbourhood or in the population centre of the municipality late at night, and whether they had recently been concerned about becoming the victim of certain crimes (e.g. burglary, assault, sexual harassment). The respondents' views on how safe Finland is in general were also investigated. A number of statements about social assistance and social security were presented (e.g. all Finns are treated equally, the funding of social security is not sustainable, and that EU membership is a disadvantage to social security). Finally, the respondents were asked to what extent they agreed with statements about their own welfare and well-being, and how satisfied they were with their lives overall. Background variables included the respondent's gender, year of birth, household composition, household characteristics, housing tenure, type of accommodation, level of education, household income and expenses, and NUTS3 region of residence

Aineisto koostuu vapaaehtoista lapsettomuutta ja sterilisaatiota käsittelevistä kirjoituksista. Kirjoituspyyntöön saivat vastata kaikki itsensä kohderyhmään kuuluvaksi määrittelevät henkilöt. Aineisto on kerätty alun perin pro gradu -tutkielmaan. The dataset consists of self-administered written texts on voluntary childlessness and sterilisation. The writing invitation was open to all voluntarily childless individuals who have considered sterilisation or have been sterilised. The data were collected for a Master's thesis. In the writing guidelines, participants were asked to write about how they had arrived at the decision to remain childless, and to describe what they thought about sterilisation. The study aimed to collect data on the reasons that had led the participants to seek sterilisation, and how the sterilisation procedure had impacted the lives of voluntarily childless individuals who had been sterilised. The views of those participants who would like to be sterilised but did not meet the conditions set in the Sterilisation Act were also examined. Background information included the participant's gender and age group. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

Aineisto koostuu kirjoituksista liittyen ruoan merkitykseen ihmisten arjessa. Aineisto on kerätty kirjoituskutsulla, jota levitettiin Facebookissa sellaisissa ryhmissä, joissa käytiin keskustelua ruoasta. Keruukutsussa kirjoittajia pyydettiin apukysymysten ohjaamina kirjoittamaan kolmesta eri aihekokonaisuudesta. Aluksi vastaajia pyydettiin kuvailemaan omaa suhdettaan ruokaan. Aineistosta on tehty jatkokäyttäjälle html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla kirjoituksia on helppo selata. The dataset consists of self-administered written texts on the importance of food in people's everyday life. The writing invitation was shared in food-related hobby groups on Facebook. Some of the groups focused solely on food, and in other groups food was a part of a wider theme. The data were collected for a Master's thesis, which examined people's relationship to food and the politics of food consumption. The writing guidelines directed the participants to write about three different topics related to food. First, participants were asked to describe their own relationship to food, including whether they saw food and cooking as a hobby or as a necessary evil, and to describe their typical everyday or festive meal. The second theme focused on political or ethical factors and whether these factors had an impact on their food-related choices. Participants were also asked whether they felt that could make a difference in society through their food choices in some way. Lastly, participants were instructed to describe their dream meal and what kind of food they would prefer not to eat. They were also asked if they felt that they were able to eat as they wished, and if not, why not. Background information included the participant's gender, age group, the highest education attained, subjective social class standing, and the Facebook group where the participant saw the invitation to participate in the study. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish
