Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja on helppo selata. The dataset consists of interviews with psychologists and psychology students on their attitudes and opinions towards digital gaming, problematic gaming, and the recent addition of gaming disorder to the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11). The interviewees themselves were not required to have experience with gaming or problematic gaming. Interviewees were reached through two separate interview invitations, one of which was targeted at psychology students and the other at professional psychologists. First, the interviewees were asked about their professional background and their experiences with gaming in their private and professional lives. The interview included questions on the interviewees' attitudes towards gaming, their views on problematic gaming and its relationship to other mental health issues, the recent addition of gaming disorder to the ICD-11, and how problematic gaming and gaming disorder should be approached at a societal level. In addition, one section of the interview consisted of questions from the Attitudes Towards Gambling Scale (ATGS-8) which the researchers had translated and adapted for the purposes of their study. Background information included the interviewee's gender, age group (only professional psychologists), and status (psychology student/professional psychologist). Background information also included the codes by which the researchers referred to the interviewees in their thesis. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

The dataset consists of police reports entered in the police case management system where the victim was a child aged 4-5 years. The data were mainly formed based on information collected from the free-form texts on the reports. The archived data include information in statistical format on all reports that were entered in the system in 2017 where the name of the crime was listed as petty assault or assault. In cases where the crime was listed as both petty assault and assault, the archived data record the case as an assault. The original research was partly funded by Tampere University Hospital. The data include information on the type of crime disclosed in the report as well as categorised information on the person who suspected a crime had taken place, the person who reported the suspected crime, and the suspect. Additionally, the data include information on the origin of the suspicion described in the report, how long a crime had been suspected, and how much of a delay there was in reporting the suspected crime. The child's gender and whether the child's parents were together were also recorded in the data

Aineisto koostuu kirjoituksista liittyen ihmisten kokemuksiin korona-ajasta. Arkistoinnin yhteydessä taustatiedoista tuotettiin erillinen html-hakemisto, jonka avulla aineistoa on helppo selata. The dataset consists of self-administered written texts on everyday life during the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey studied Finnish citizens' civic attitudes and views on politics. Main themes of the survey included voting behaviour, civic participation, political decision-making, and trust in institutions and other people. The survey was conducted as part of the Participation in Long-Term Decision-Making (PALO) research project. The project was funded by the Academy of Finland's Strategic Research Council (project numbers 312671 and 312676). First, the respondents were asked whether they had voted in the previous parliamentary elections and which party had they voted for. The respondents' interest in politics and their knowledge about politics and social issues were investigated, and they were asked to identify their alignment on a left-right political spectrum. Civic participation was surveyed by asking the respondents whether during the previous 12 months they had, for example, contacted a politician, been part of political party or group, signed a petition, or taken part in a demonstration. The respondents' views on civic participation in Finland were charted with questions on whether increased civic participation would have a positive impact on Finnish democracy and whether citizens should be given more avenues to take part in public decision-making. Opinions on the use of citizens' forums as a part of the public decision-making process were also investigated. The respondents' views on long-term decision making in politics were examined with questions on, for example, whether politics should focus more on solving current day issues instead of future challenges, whether political decision-making should be based on public will as expressed through election results rather than expert opinions that are more future-oriented, and whether political decision-makers should be able to make quick decisions even if there was not enough time to establish their long-term consequences. The respondents' satisfaction with the state of democracy in Finland and their trust in in public institutions (e.g. the parliament, judicial system, politicians, political parties, the European Union) and other people were also charted. The survey also included questions on climate change. The respondents were asked how worried they were about climate change and whether they would be ready to reduce their own standard of living to slow down climate change. The respondents were also asked to estimate how ready people in Finland in general would be reduce to their standard of living to combat climate change. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's gender, year of birth, the highest education attained, marital status, degree of religiosity, gross annual income, economic activity, and degree of urbanisation of R's neighourbood

Myös huhtikuussa kerätty kysely, FSD3508 Suomalaisten henkinen kriisinkestävyys I 2020, on saatavilla Tietoarkistosta. Kyselyn teemoina olivat suomalaisten kokema kuormitus, heidän sosiaaliset verkostonsa ja kokemukset avunsaannista sekä odotukset kriisin selviämisestä. Vastaajia pyydettiin muun muassa arvioimaan väittämiä liittyen henkilökohtaiseen hyvinvointiin ja turvallisuuteen sekä yhteiskunnan oikeudenmukaisuuteen. Lisäksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, missä määrin eri koronakriisiin liittyvät tekijät kuormittavat heitä ja kuinka suuri merkitys eri tahoilla on turvallisuuden tunteen lisäämisessä. The survey charted the concerns and feelings of security and safety of people living in Finland during the coronavirus crisis. This second part of the survey was conducted in May 2020, when the partial loosening of COVID restrictions had been announced. The first part of the survey was conducted in April 2020, when the coronavirus restrictions were at their strictest. The April 2020 survey data are also available at FSD (dataset FSD3508 Mental Resilience of Finnish People I 2020). Themes of the survey included stress and strain experienced by the respondents, their social networks, and their views on the role of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland in supporting people during the coronavirus crisis. First, the respondents were asked what had brought them comfort during the crisis, and their personal well-being and close relationships were examined with questions on, for example, whether they were regularly in contact with others, had friends they could openly talk to about their worries, and would be willing to help people close to them if needed. Views on safety and security in society were surveyed next with questions on whether the respondents thought people's indifference towards coronavirus restrictions created insecurity, whether news headlines caused fear for them, and whether they were suspicious of all news because they could potentially be fake news. The respondents were also asked which institutions or groups, such as the Finnish government, health officials, the church, parishes and other religious organisations, or their own family and relatives, they thought were the most significant in creating a feeling of security for them. Stress and strain experienced by the respondents were examined with questions on, for example, whether they were worried about their own financial situation or health, loneliness, an increase in domestic violence, or the situation of health care professionals. The respondents' views were charted on how important various actions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, such as providing spiritual support, food assistance, or online church services, had been during the crisis. They were also asked whether they had used the services or received assistance provided by the church during the crisis, as well as whether they were a member of a church or a religious community and how often they prayed. Finally, the respondents' daily social interaction with others was surveyed, and they were asked how often in the past month they had felt, for example, unhappy, depressed, or lonely. Background variables included the respondent's gender, NUTS3 region of residence, type of municipality of residence, age, marital status, size of household, level of education, income of the respondent and the household, and economic activity and occupational status

Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja on helppo selata. Tämän kvalitatiivisen aineiston lisäksi hankkeessa kerättiin Tietoarkistoon arkistoitu kvantitatiivinen kyselyaineisto FSD3575 Ulkosuomalaisten poliittinen osallistuminen 2019.The dataset consists of interviews with and self-administered written texts by Finnish expatriates on their attitudes towards and experiences with postal voting in Finnish elections. The data were collected as part of the Facilitating Electoral Participation from Abroad (FACE) research project, and the project was funded by the Finnish Cultural Foundation. The writing guidelines and interview questions charted the factors that motivated expatriates to vote, the obstacles and challenges expatriates associated with voting, and ways in which voting could be made easier. Postal voting was introduced as a new voting method during the 2019 Finnish parliamentary elections. The study examined how Finnish expatriates viewed postal voting and what their relationship to postal voting was. The questions investigated participants' experiences of the functionality of postal voting, possible risks associated with postal voting, and how the opportunity to use postal voting to vote had affected voter turnout. The impact that voting method had on the experience of voting was also examined. Background variables included the date of the interview/self-administered written text submission, the type of data (interview vs. self-administered written text), whether the participant had voted or attempted to vote using postal voting, and whether the participant had voted in advance at an advance polling station during the 2019 Finnish parliamentary elections. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. In addition to this qualitative dataset, a quantitative dataset (FSD3575 Political Participation of Finnish Expatriates 2019) that was produced as part of the FACE research project has also been archived at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish

Vastaajat kertoivat, käyttävätkö he erilaisia älylaitteita. Tutkittavilta kysyttiin, mihin tarkoituksiin he käyttävät sosiaalista mediaa, ja tietävätkö he millaista tietoa on sopivaa jakaa verkossa. Vastaajat kertoivat, miten he suhtautuvat sosiaalisessa mediassa mielipiteisiin, jotka eroavat heidän omistaan, ja millaista mielikuvaa itsestään he levittävät. Heiltä kysyttiin myös, mitä sosiaalisen median palveluita he käyttävät. Vastaajat kertoivat, kuinka luotettavina he pitävät muun muassa eduskuntaa, poliittisia puolueita ja suuria kansainvälisiä yhtiöitä. The survey charted the use of digital devices, social media, and online services in Finland. Main themes of the survey also included societal values, civic participation, social relationships, and well-being. Media use was investigated with questions on how often the respondents did certain things (e.g. use the internet, listen to radio programs or podcasts, write on discussion boards, use instant messaging applications). The respondents were also asked whether they used certain digital devices and services (e.g. smart phone, computer, broadband internet, smart watch) and how important these were for their everyday lives. The role of the internet in the respondents' everyday lives was explored by asking how important the internet was for them in terms of banking, booking doctor's appointments, purchasing products and services, and keeping in touch with others. The respondents' digital skills were charted by asking them, for example, whether they knew how to download and save files from the internet or clear their browser history. Additionally, views on the trustworthiness of internet sources and the ease of finding reliable information online were surveyed. The respondents were asked about the purposes for which they used social media, whether they knew what kind of information was appropriate to share on social media, and their membership in social media communities. Additionally, the respondents' use of different social media platforms and compulsive social media use were charted. Attitudes towards social media were examined with questions on, for example, whether the respondents were concerned about hate speech or fake news on social media, how they engaged with opinions that differed from their own on social media, and whether social media had made them feel pressure over their appearance. Civic participation was charted by asking the respondents whether in the last five years they had, for example, voted in parliamentary elections, taken part in a demonstration, donated money to charity or volunteered. Political party affiliation and the respondents' alignment on left-right and liberal-conservative political spectrums were also surveyed. Additionally, the respondents' views on various questions (e.g. the right to abortion, same-sex marriage, cuts to social security, dismantling the welfare state) and their trust in institutions (e.g. the government, the judicial system, politicians, the European parliament, news outlets) were investigated. The respondents' social relationships were examined with questions on how many friends they had on social media, how much they used social media to keep in touch with friends, how often they felt lonely, and how often they used social media to alleviate feelings of loneliness. Experiences of online harassment and bullying were also charted. The respondents were asked about their satisfaction with their body and appearance, and well-being was surveyed with statements on, for example, health, self-confidence, future expectations, and overall life satisfaction. Background information included the respondent's gender, year of birth, NUTS2 and NUTS3 regions of residence, marital status, household characteristics, level of education, occupation, sector of employment, and monthly household gross income

Social media, blogs, and podcasts and their role in science communication were also described by the participants. Finally, the participants were asked about the communication activities that were part of their work, and they were requested to evaluate the adequacy of their own communication skills. Background information included the participant's gender, age, and field of research. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish
