Early Childhood Education and Care Survey 2016
No full textKyselyllä kartoitettiin yksivuotiaiden lasten huoltajilta tietoja muun muassa perheestä, asumisesta, toimeentulosta, vanhempana toimimisesta, lastenhoidon järjestämisestä ja lastenhoidon taloudellisten tukien käytöstä. Aineisto on osa monitieteistä Jyväskylän ja Tampereen yliopistojen sekä Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitoksen yhteistyössä toteuttamaa Tasa-arvon kysymykset lasten varhaiskasvatuksen, esiopetuksen ja hoidon tukien järjestelmässä -hanketta (CHILDCARE). Kyselyn alussa kartoitettiin yksivuotiaan lapsen ja kyselyyn vastanneen aikuisen taustatietoja sekä selvitettiin yksivuotiaan lapsen terveystilannetta ja kehitystä sekä kysyttiin imetyksestä. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin lasten hoitojärjestelyistä, hoitomuodon valinnasta ja perhevapaista. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin vastaajan työhön, työn ja perheen yhteensovittamiseen ja terveystilanteeseen liittyviä kysymyksiä. Sitten selvitettiin perheen tilannetta ja tukea sekä vastaajan asumista ja toimeentuloa. Lisäksi vastaajilta kysyttiin ajatuksia lastenhoitoon liittyvistä poliittisista päätöksistä sekä varhaiskasvatuksen järjestämistä koskevista asioista. Vastaajan taustatietoina ovat muun muassa asuinkunta (luokiteltuna), sukupuoli, ikäryhmä, siviilisääty, perheenjäsenet, suhde perheen yksivuotiaaseen lapseen, koulutustaso, elämäntilannetta ja työsuhdetta kuvaavat tiedot, asumismuoto ja perheen tulot. Kyselyn kohteena olevasta lapsesta taustatietoina ovat muun muassa sukupuoli, ikä, asumisen järjestelyt ja huoltajuutta koskeva tieto. Lisäksi vastaajan puolison taustatietoja ovat koulutustaso sekä elämäntilanne. Aineistossa olevan satunnaistetun id-muuttujan perusteella tämän ja FSD3578 Varhaiskasvatuskysely 2019 -aineiston ajallinen vertailu on mahdollista.The survey examined the circumstances of families with one-year-old children regarding, among other topics, living arrangements, income, parental roles, childcare arrangements, and childcare allowances and vouchers. Respondents included the guardians of one-year-old children in Finland. The survey was conducted as part of the Finnish Childcare Policies: In/equality in Focus (CHILDCARE) research project, a joint collaboration by the University of Jyväskylä, Tampere University and Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. First, the respondents were asked about their one-year-old child's health and development. Questions surveyed, for example, breastfeeding, possible medical conditions, and the respondents' relationship with their child. Regarding childcare arrangements, the respondents were asked where they had looked for information on day care services and financial support, what arrangements they had in place for their one-year-old and any other children, how satisfied they were with the arrangements, and whether they received any financial support towards the cost of childcare. Further questions were asked based on whether the child was at home or looked after by an unpaid carer or in day care. Next, the respondents' work situation, work and family life balance, physical and mental health, and changes in family circumstances were surveyed. Questions also focused on the support the respondents received with parenting, as well as their financial situation, political decision-making, and views on day care-related issues on a municipal and general level. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's municipality of residence (categorised), gender, age group, marital status, family composition, relationship to the one-year-old child, level of education, current activity and employment, and household income. Additionally, background information relating to the child was collected, including the child's gender, age, living arrangements, and information on the child's guardians. The education and current activity of the respondent's spouse/partner were also charted
Self-Referential Thinking and the Cone of Gaze 2021-2022
No full textAineisto sisältää osallistujien vastaukset kokeellisen psykologian tehtäviin. Aineisto on kerätty kokeellisen psykologian tutkimuksessa, jossa tutkittiin itseen liittyvän tiedonkäsittelyn ja katseen suunnan tulkitsemisen yhteyttä. Aineistossa on yhdistettynä alkuperäiseen kokeeseen vuonna 2021 osallistuneiden ja toisintokokeeseen vuonna 2022 osallistuneiden vastaukset. Aineistossa on osallistujien vastaukset kolmeen tehtävään. Ensimmäisessä tehtävässä vastaajia pyydettiin kirjoittamaan kolmeen kysymykseen kuhunkin vähintään viidellä lauseella joko itsestään tai muista ihmisistä riippuen vastaajaryhmästä. Toisessa tehtävässä vastaajien piti arvioida, katsovatko esitetyt kasvokuvat suoraan heitä kohti. Kolmannessa tehtävässä vastaajien piti täydentää lauseita heistä sopivimmalla persoonapronominilla. Kunkin tehtävän välissä vastaajat vastasivat yhteen tarkkaavaisuutta mittaavaan kysymykseen. Alkuperäisessä kokeessa osallistujat vastasivat kaikkiin kolmeen tehtävään ja toisintokokeessa vain ensimmäiseen ja kolmanteen tehtävään. Taustamuuttujina aineistossa ovat sukupuoli, ikä ja koulutus vuosina sekä tietoja vastaajan osallistumiseen käyttämästä tietokoneesta.The study investigated the relationship between self-referential thinking and cone of gaze (the range of gaze directions that are perceived as self-directed). The data were collected in a psychology experiment. The dataset combines the data from participants who participated in the original experiment in 2021 and participants who participated in the replication of the experiment in 2022. The data include the participants' responses to three tasks during the experiment. In the first task, the participants were asked to write at least five sentences on each of three questions, either about themselves or about other people, depending on the participant group that they belonged to. In the second task, the participants were asked to judge whether the avatar faces presented on the computer screen looked directly at them or not. In the third task, the participants had to complete 20 sentences with the most appropriate personal pronoun. Between each task, the participants answered an attention check trial which included one question. In the original experiment, the participants completed all three tasks and in the second replication experiment the participants only completed the first and third tasks. Background variables included the participant's gender, age, years of full-time education, and information about the computer used to complete the experiment

No full textTutkimuksessa kartoitettiin suomalaisten arvoja ja asenteita. Tällä kertaa teemoina ovat kohonneet energiakustannukset ja energiantuotanto, Suomen julkinen talous, kuluttajahintojen nousu sekä ilmastonmuutos ja ilmastoteot. Aluksi vastaajille esitettiin väittämiä yhteiskunnan eri osa-alueilta. Ne käsittelivät muiden muassa ilmastonmuutosta ja luonnonsuojelua, politiikkaa, sotilaallista liittoutumista, energiakriisiä ja taloutta. Seuraavaksi tiedusteltiin tarkemmin, kuinka uhkaavana vastaajat pitävät kohonneita energian hintoja talouden ja toimeentulon kannalta. Lisäksi vastaajilta kysyttiin miten ongelmallisina he näkevät mahdolliset sähkön säännöstelyn takia aiheutuneet sähkökatkot. Edelleen tiedusteltiin toimia, joita vastaajat ovat valmiita tekemään sopeutuakseen kalliimpaan energiaan sekä ajatuksia energiantuotannosta. Tämän jälkeen tiedusteltiin Suomen julkisen talouden kehityksestä sekä talouden vakauttamisen toimenpiteistä kuluttajahintojen nousun vuoksi. Julkiseen talouteen ja sektoriin liittyen tiedusteltiin myös vastaajien ajatuksia toimista sekä mahdollisista menoleikkauksista, joilla julkista taloutta voidaan tasapainottaa. Lopuksi kysyttiin vielä vastaajien ajatuksia siitä, miten kansalaiset voivat toimia ilmaston lämpenemisen hidastamiseksi ja siitä miten mahdollisena vastaajat pitävät toimien toteuttamista omassa elämässään. Tämän jälkeen tiedusteltiin vielä ajatuksia Suomen Nato- ja EU-jäsenyydestä sekä siitä miten houkuttelevana investointien kohdemaana Suomi nähdään. Taustamuuttujia olivat sukupuoli, ikäryhmä, asuinkunnan koko, asuinkunta, asuinmaakunta, perus- ja ammatillinen koulutus, ammattiryhmä, työnantajatyyppi, työsuhde, toimiala, puoluekanta (mitä puoluetta äänestäisi, jos eduskuntavaalit pidettäisiin nyt), ammatillinen keskusjärjestö, yhteiskuntaluokka, äidinkieli ja talouden bruttotulot.The survey charted Finnish values and attitudes, focusing on climate change, public finances and debt, market economy, energy crisis followed by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, national security, Finland's membership in NATO, and foreign investment. First, the respondents were asked to what extent they agreed or disagreed with 60 attitudinal statements related to the main themes. Some questions investigated the energy crisis. The respondents were asked how threatening they considered rising energy prices be to national economy and to their own and other people's livelihood, how problematic potential power cuts would be and what was the main heating system in their home. They were asked how likely it was that they would undertake certain measures to adapt to higher energy prices (shorten showering time, use electricity at cheaper times etc). Opinions were charted on different power and heating sources. Financial matters were studied with questions relating to household finances, estimates of the development of the respondent's own and national finances, and measures to support household and public finances. Views on expenditure cuts to different public sectors and services were surveyed. Climate change attitude questions investigated how possible the respondents considered adopting certain measures to combat climate change to be. Measures mentioned included giving up eating meat, dairy products or flying, reducing room temperature at home, teleworking, moving to a smaller home etc. NATO-related questions focused on attitudes to Finland's NATO membership. The respondents were also presented a number of factors and asked whether these were strengths or weaknesses when Finland competed for investments. Opinions were charted on Finland's EU membership and the adoption of the euro. Background variables included the respondent's age group, number of inhabitants in the municipality of residence, region (NUTS3), type of employer, working hours, type of employment contract, education, economic activity and occupational status, employment sector, trade union membership, what political party would vote for in parliamentary elections, self-perceived social class, mother tongue and year of birth

Parish Employee Survey 2015
No full textEvankelis-luterilaisen kirkon seurakuntien työntekijäkyselyn 2015 teemoja ovat kirkon työ ja tulevaisuus, seurakuntien rakennemuutos ja strateginen suunnittelu, naispappeus, vuoden 2017 uusi avioliittolaki sekä kristilliset arvot ja etiikka. Aluksi kartoitettiin vastaajan näkemyksiä työn, perheen ja vapaa-ajan harrastusten merkityksestä elämässä. Seuraavaksi vastaajalta kysyttiin kirkon toiminnasta ja asemasta yhteiskunnassa tulevaisuudessa. Rakennemuutokseen ja strategiseen suunnitteluun liittyen tiedusteltiin seurakuntarakenteen kehittämisen eri vaihtoehdoista sekä vastaajan työalan henkilöstömuutoksista ja niiden vaikutuksista työyhteisöön ja työn tekemiseen. Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös suhtautumisesta naispappeuteen, arjen uskonnollisuudesta ja arvoista sekä uskonnollisten yhteisöjen näkymisestä yhteiskunnallisessa elämässä. Vuoden 2017 avioliittolakiin liittyen kysyttiin, miten kirkon tulisi toimia avioliittolain uudistuksen jälkeen. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin, miten vastaaja suhtautuisi omalla asuinalueellaan sijaitseviin eri uskontokuntien kokoontumistiloihin. Taustamuuttujina aineistossa ovat syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, työtehtävä, työskentelyn kesto kirkon tai kirkollisen järjestön palveluksessa, työskentelyseurakunnan koko, hiippakunta, työskentelypaikkakunnan tyyppi, vastaajan vuoden 2015 eduskuntavaaleissa äänestämä puolue sekä herätysliikkeeseen tai kristilliseen järjestöön kuuluminen.The 2015 church employee survey studied the views of people working in the parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Main themes of the survey included the future of work in the church, structural changes and strategic planning in parishes, ordination of women, the amended Marriage Act entering into force in 2017, and Christian values and ethics. First, the respondents were asked about the significance of work, family and leisure time in life. Questions included, for example, whether the respondents felt that their work was a calling for them, that having a family increased the quality of life, and that everybody should have at least one hobby. Views on the future of the Evangelical Lutheran Church were surveyed with various statements on what the main focus of the church should be moving forward. The statements included, for example, whether the church should be more direct in discussing social issues, support immigrants more, be more accepting towards sexual minorities, and be more visible on online platforms. Structural changes and strategic planning in the parishes were examined with questions on whether the respondents' parish had gone through a merger, how the respondents thought parish structures should be developed, and whether there had been changes in personnel in their line of work and how the changes had affected their work environment. Questions also surveyed the respondents' views on the ordination of women. Next, the respondents' attitudes were examined with various statements relating to values and religion in everyday life and society. Further questions surveyed how the respondents thought the church should act after the amended Marriage Act entered into force in 2017 (e.g. whether the church should continue to only officiate opposite-sex marriages or also officiate same-sex marriages) as well as what they thought about the role of religious communities in Finnish society and the presence of different religious gathering spaces in their area. The respondents were also asked whether they thought they were more conservative or liberal within the church, how often they attended worship services, and how often they prayed. Background variables included the respondent's year of birth, gender, job title, how long they had worked for the church or religious organisation, size of their parish, diocese, type of municipality where they worked, and political party they had voted for in the 2015 parliamentary elections, and whether they belonged to a revivalist movement or a Christian organisation

Health and Digital Gaming: Expert Interviews 2021
No full textAineisto koostuu digitaalisten peliongelmien vuoksi apua hakeneita henkilöitä hoitaneiden terveydenhuollon ammattilaisten haastattelulitteraatioista. Haastattelussa kysyttiin aluksi tutkittavan urasta ja peliriippuvuuteen liittyvästä hoitokokemuksesta. Tämän jälkeen pyydettiin pohtimaan sitä, onko tutkittavan kohtaamilla hoidettavilla tapauksilla jotain yhtäläisyyksiä. Tutkittavaa pyydettiin myös kuvailemaan jotain valittua yksittäistä tapausta tarkemmin. Lisäksi kysyttiin mm. ongelmapelaamisen diagnostiikasta, mahdollisista hoitokeinoista ja -metodeista sekä niiden toimivuudesta. Haastatteluissa kysyttiin myös vastaajan omasta pelaamisesta. Taustatietona mainitaan mm. sukupuoli, haastatteluajankohta. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja on helppo selata.The dataset consists of interview transcripts with health care professionals who have experience of working with people who sought help for compulsive gaming. First, the interviewees were asked about their careers and treatment experience related to compulsive gaming. They were then asked to reflect on whether there were any commonalities between the cases they had observed in treatment. The interviewees were also asked to describe one individual case in more detail. Other questions included the diagnosis of compulsive gaming, possible treatments, treatments methods and their effectiveness. Additionally, the interviewees' own experiences with digital gaming were investigated. Background information included, among others, the interviewee's gender, and the date of the interview. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is available only in Finnish

Public Employment and Business Services in Finland: Survey for Employers 2021
No full textTutkimuksessa kartoitettiin, kuinka työvoimapalvelut edistivät osa-aikaisen ja tilapäisen työn vastaanottamista ja osittain työttömien kokoaikaista työllistymistä. Tässä aineistossa kartoitettiin organisaatioiden rekrytointikäytäntöjä koskien osa-aikaista ja tilapäistä työvoimaa sekä sitä, miten organisaatiot ovat hyödyntäneet TE-palveluita rekrytoinnissa. Samasta hankkeesta on arkistoitu myös kaksi muuta aineistoa: FSD3686 TE-palvelujärjestelmän toiminta: työnhakijakysely 2021 ja FSD3688 TE-palvelujärjestelmän toiminta: asiantuntijatyöntekijöiden kysely 2021. Kysely koostuu lähinnä avokysymyksistä. Aineisto sisältää työnantajien näkemyksiä osa-aikeisen ja tilapäisen työvoiman rekrytoinnista sekä siitä, miten työsopimuslaissa määritelty lisätyön tarjoamisvelvollisuus on vaikuttanut rekrytointikäytäntöihin. Lisäksi työnantajat arvioivat, miten lisätyön tarjoamisvelvollisuus jo työssä oleville osa-aikatyöntekijöille toimii työnantajaorganisaatioiden näkökulmasta. Kysymykset käsittelivät myös työnantajien yhteistyötä TE-palveluiden kanssa koskien osa-aikatyöntekijöiden rekrytointia. Taustamuuttujia aineistossa ovat vastaajan työnantajaorganisaation toimiala, vastaajan asema organisaatiossa sekä organisaation henkilöstömäärä.The study surveyed how public employment and business services contributed to unemployed people finding part-time or full-time employment in Finland. This survey examined the recruiting practices of different organisations regarding part-time and temporary employment as well as how the organisations had utilised public employment and business services when recruiting new employees. FSD holdings contain two related datasets: FSD3686 Public Employment and Business Services in Finland: Survey for Job Seekers 2021 and FSD3688 Public Employment and Business Services in Finland: Survey for Experts in TE Offices and Local Government 2021. The survey consisted mainly of open-ended questions. The respondents were asked how many of their organisation's employees had part-time or temporary contracts and what public employment and business services they had utilised when recruiting part-time or temporary employees (e.g. recruitment events, pay subsidies). Questions also surveyed the organisation's experiences of recruiting partially disabled employees and immigrants. Views on the obligation to offer extra work to part-time employees before hiring a new employee were also charted. Background variables included the sector of the respondent's organisation, the respondent's position within the organisation, and number of employees in the organisation
