COVID-19 and Social Inequality \u2013 A (Welle 3)
To develop a better understanding of how people in Germany handle the social and political consequences of the Corona (COVID-19) crisis, the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" has installed a surveys program with the participation of researchers from several different departments and disciplines at the University of Konstanz (Sociology, Political Science, Economics and Psychology).
The surveys focus on the social and political consequences of the Corona crisis and cover multiple topics, such as the perceived individual and social consequences of the pandemic and the measures taken to contain it, trust in health and social policy and the welfare state, support for government aid given to businesses, gender inequalities, questions of solidarity within the EU, opinions on the "Corona app", on debates on loosening the emergency measures, and on perceived infection risks in the working place.
The survey program took the form of several online surveys conducted in 2020, 2021 and 2022. The surveys were organized in two series, Survey A and B. For each series, three cross-sectional surveys were conducted that included a sample of respondents who were surveyed repeatedly. This dataset is the survey that took place in May 2021. It is the third Wave of Survey A.
The other surveys can also be found in the GESIS repository (https://doi.org/10.7802/2116 , https://doi.org/10.7802/2118 , https://doi.org/10.7802/2334 , https://doi.org/10.7802/2335).To develop a better understanding of how people in Germany handle the social and political consequences of the Corona (COVID-19) crisis, the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" has installed a surveys program with the participation of researchers from several different departments and disciplines at the University of Konstanz (Sociology, Political Science, Economics and Psychology).

Perceived Organizational Support and Performance: Moderated Mediation Model of Psychological Capital and Organizational Justice, Evidence from India
One of the objectives of this study was to examine the mediating role of psychological capital on the relationship between POS and performance. Further, this study investigates the moderating role of organizational justice perception in the said indirect relationship. Findings of the moderated-mediation analyses suggest that psychological capital mediated the relationship between perceived organizational support and performance. The indirect relationship of perceived organizational support and performance via psychological capital was moderated by organizational justice.
Study 1 included a sample of 465 employees from both large private life insurance and telecom organizations located in India.
Study 2 was conducted on a sample of 216 employees from a large steel manufacturing firm from India. One of the objectives of this study was to examine the mediating role of psychological capital on the relationship between POS and performance.
Diversity Assent in Urban Germany
How do people living in contemporary Germany react to diversification in their every-
day life? What undergirds pro-diversity perspectives among those who live in rapidly
diversifying cities? Conversely, what are their limits, and what groups are excluded? The
Diversity Assent (DivA) project was designed to understand the foundations and mechanisms underlying the acceptance of socio-demographic heterogeneity on multiple dimensions in cities located both in West and East Germany. Two core motivations underlie
the project. So far, we insufficiently understand what motivates those who oppose right-
wing positions – usually a majority among inhabitants of cities in Germany and other
Western European countries. Second, this project builds on a previous large-scale project
of the Socio-Cultural Diversity department at MPI-MMG, “Diversity and Contact”. In
particular, it explores to what extent attitudes and patterns of interaction have changed, or
remained constant, in the decade from 2010 to 2020, which was a time of major ruptures
and political polarization. We designed a large telephone survey of 2,917 respondents
asking a set of interrelated questions on dispositions towards diversity, everyday experiences and diversification dynamics. This includes a set of survey experiments designed to
tap and measure social norms of tolerance. How do people living in contemporary Germany react to diversification in their every-

Code/Syntax: Vegetarians in Germany. Prevalence estimates, social profile, dynamic features, and short-term effects on subjective health
Data: SOEP v37, 2020, doi:10.5684/soep.core.v37eu
Abstract of the referenced publication:
Using data from the German Socio-Economic Panel, this article examines (1) the prevalence of vegetarians in Germany, (2) their social profile, and (3) dynamic features and short-term effects on subjective health of a vegetarian diet. As in many other Western countries, the prevalence of vegetarians and vegans in Germany is on an upward trend. In the period 2016-2020, about 7 percent of the Germans declared themselves as vegetarians (including vegans). The probability of being a vegetarian is higher among women, younger people, the better educated, those living in single households, residents of urban areas, and those who support the green political party. We observe considerable temporal stability of individual dietary patterns – mainly due to a dominant group of continuous non-vegetarians (almost 90 percent). We also test a special variant of the health-benefit hypothesis of a vegetarian diet. We find no support of this hypothesis when looking at short-term effects on individuals’ overall assessment of their personal health.Data: SOEP v37, 2020, doi:10.5684/soep.core.v37eu
