English Version As part of the project “Administrative Inequality in Handling Requests for German Citizenship (AdmInCit)”, we received foreigner and naturalization data from the state statistical offices for the period 2000 to 2021. The dataset includes variables on foreigner data overall and for Turks, Italians, and Poles. We also provide naturalization data overall and for the same three nationalities. This also includes variables on the granting of dual citizenship and how many people were over 60 years old at the time of naturalization. At the county level, we have data on 197 counties and county-free cities from eight federal states. At the level of the governing districts, we have data on Bavarian and Hessian districts. The U-COMPLY project is a 3-wave panel study funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) with the purpose to understand non-compliance to the COVID-19 regulations in Germany. The study was conducted by Bilendi & respondi. In the survey period from April to September 2022, the German population aged between 18 and 75 years was asked about their compliance patterns, their perception of norms and compliance by others in their social network in online interviews (CASI) with a focus on adherence to the COVID-19 regulations. In addition, the survey explored possible antecedents of such behavior (e.g., self-control, perceived susceptibility and severity of infection, expected sanctions in case of non-adherence, vaccination status, immunization status, self-reported knowledge about COVID-19, information frequency, risk-group membership, contact with vulnerable individuals, conspiracy beliefs, political orientation) and conducted several vignette survey experiments. The respondents were selected using a quota sample from an online access panel from Bilendi & respondi.Wave 1: Fear of unemployment or not finding a new job; frequency of reception of information about the current corona situation in the region (via news and social contacts); self-reported knowledge about symptoms and effects of COVID-19; probability of (renewed) corona infection in general or without preventive measures; belonging to a risk group regarding corona infection or severe course; contact with people who belong to a risk group regarding corona infection or severe course; perceived threat in connection with the coronavirus (when I think about the coronavirus, I feel threatened, I am afraid of the coronavirus, I am not afraid of the coronavirus, I am worried that I or people I love could get sick from the coronavirus, I am stressed around other people because I am afraid that I could catch the coronavirus); number of people I know personally who have died from coronavirus; effectiveness of various measures against the spread of coronavirus (moving meetings outside, limiting the number of people at private meetings, requiring coronavirus testing before private meetings, 3G rule: Be fully vaccinated or recovered or test negative); frequency of compliance with various recommendations and guidelines against the spread of Corona in the last six weeks (keep your distance where prescribed, wear a face mask where prescribed, observe hygiene rules (e.g. hand disinfection), use the official Corona-Warn-App for contact tracing, regularly ventilate rooms where others are present, voluntary Corona test e.g. before meeting with others, reducing social contacts); non-compliance with requirements (not taking a corona test where it was prescribed, using a foreign or falsified or expired corona test result, buying a foreign or falsified vaccination certificate, deliberately trying to infect another person with corona); personal moral standards in case of rule violations (generally violating the corona measures, not wearing a mouth-nose cover where it is prescribed, not taking a corona test where it is prescribed); moral standards of the social environment: Number of people who generally violated the corona measure, did not wear a mouth-nose cover or did not take a corona test where it was prescribed; probability of being caught and reported for general violations of the corona measures and for not wearing a mouth-nose cover or not taking a corona test where it is required; estimated severity of sanctions for general violations of the corona measures and for not wearing a mouth-nose cover or not taking a corona test where it is required; expected consequences in the event of corona infection (jeopardizing career/studies, severe health impairments, long-term health problems (e.g. long Covid), death, reproaches from others, severe impairment of social relationships); attitude towards corona vaccination; immunization status: vaccination status, infection with the coronavirus, severity of symptoms, validity period of the recovered certificate; social relationships: talked to others about important things in the last six months (waves 1 and 3); named up to seven people with whom important things were talked about in the last six months; corona infection of the respective person and symptoms (waves 1 and 3); personality: Self-control (impulsiveness: I usually put little thought and effort into preparing for my future, I don´t give much thought to the future, I often act spontaneously without giving it much thought, I get bored easily, risk-taking: sometimes I take risks just for fun, sometimes I find it exciting to do things that could be dangerous, temperament: When I´m really angry, others had better leave me alone, I lose my temper pretty quickly); attitude towards migration in light of the pandemic; accepted amount of immigrants from different groups of people (immigrants who belong to the same ethnic group as the majority of Germans, immigrants who belong to a different ethnic group than the majority of Germans, immigrants who come from the poorer countries within Europe, immigrants who come from the poorer countries outside Europe); political orientation left-right. The GESIS Panel provides a probability-based mixed-mode access panel infrastructure located at GESIS Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences in Mannheim, Germany. The project offers the social science community an opportunity to collect survey data from a representative sample of the German population. Submitted study proposals are evaluated based on a scientific review process. Panel members were initially recruited in 2013 in face-to-face interviews followed by a self-administered profile survey. The mode was chosen by the participants. All participants of the profile survey are considered as members of the panel and invited to the bi-monthly regular waves. The starting cohort encompassed 4900 panelists at the beginning of 2014. In order to compensate for panel attrition, a refreshment sample was drawn in 2016, using the General Social Survey (ALLBUS) interview as vehicle. The initial cohort encompasses German speaking respondents aged between 18 and 70 years (at the time of recruitment) and permanently residing in Germany, whereas the second cohort includes respondents from the age of 18 without upper restriction. In 2018 a third recruitment sample was drawn, which was integrated with the wave ge. The third cohort also includes respondents aged 18 and over without an upper limit. Retroactively, cases up to and including wave fc (third wave from 2018) were added to the data. The Data Manual (ZA5664-65_sd_data-manual) has been reissued and there is a corresponding recruitment report (ZA5664-65_mb_recruitment2018). The ALLBUS Sample is based on a disproportional sampling of respondents from the western and eastern part of Germany. A design weight that enables integration of the two recruitment cohorts is included into the dataset. For more details, please see the methods reports of the recruitment processes and die GESIS Panel reference paper (Bosnjak et al., 2017). In March 2020, a special GESIS panel survey was conducted on the SARS-CoV-2 resp. COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in Germany. In 2021, the fourth recruitment sample was drawn using the German International Social Survey Programme (ISSP), which was integrated with wave ja. The fourth cohort also includes respondents aged 18 and older with no upper limit. For more information, see the corresponding recruitment report (ZA5664-65_r_i12.pdf). In 2023, the fifth recruitment sample was drawn using the German European Social Survey (ESS Round 11), which was integrated with the wave la. The fifth cohort includes respondents aged 18 and over with no upper limit. For more information, see the corresponding recruitment report (ZA5664-65_r_k12.pdf). GESIS Panel Demographic Dataset Starting with version 43-0-0 the longitudinal demographic dataset became part of the dissemination package. The Campus File is a privacy-protected dataset derived from the web tracking component of the GESIS Panel.dbd Prerelease, which was collected during the 2024 European Parliament election campaign. While the original Prerelease Scientific Use File (SUF) contains detailed browser-based web tracking data (including domains, URLs, and HTML snapshots) linked to rich survey information, the Campus File provides a strongly anonymized and simplified version of these data for training, teaching, demonstration, and methodological exercises. The Campus File includes all participants who consented to and participated in web tracking via the GESIS Surf browser plugin. It contains (a) aggregated host-level visit data with timestamps, (b) a small set of coarsened demographic survey indicators, and (c) a limited selection of non-sensitive attitudinal and behavioral survey items. All full URLs, HTML content, session structures, and sensitive survey variables are removed. The dataset is subject to multiple anonymization safeguards, including host-level aggregation, minimum frequency thresholding, de-regionalization of hosts, suppression of sensitive domains, and manual review of remaining host identifiers. As a result, the Campus File cannot be used to reconstruct individual browsing behavior or identify participants and is explicitly restricted to non-scientific, instructional use.

The Thüringen-Monitor is a representative population survey on political culture in the Free State of Thuringia that has been held annually since 2000. It contains fixed and changing questions. The Thuringia Monitor is commissioned by the Thuringian State Chancellery (Erfurt). A particular focus is on research into right-wing extremist attitudes, acceptance of democracy, satisfaction with democracy and the institutional trust of the Thuringian population. The basic population is the electorate of the Free State of Thuringia. By 2022, a total of 22 survey waves with at least 1,000 respondents each were carried out in the trend design by changing survey institutes (CATI, random sampling according to the Gabler-Häder design). No survey took place in 2009. From 2012, the data were weighted according to the Thuringian State Statistical Office with regard to age, gender, education and household size (IPF weighting). In the 2024 Thuringia Monitor, the previous representative landline survey (CATI) was converted to a combined dual-mode design of landline (CATI) and online survey (CAWI). LAKTAT - Laypeople as actors in all-day schooling. Quantitative assessment at the socio-spatial level (Sub-study A)

    No full text
Over the past two decades, the staff at German all-day schools has changed significantly in terms of both quantity and quality (Tillmann, 2020). The school environment has now become a multi-professional arena (Rother et al., 2021). Not only teachers are involved, but also so-called additional educational staff (wptP), which is made up of individuals with sometimes very different educational qualifications and expertise. Individuals without formally recognized educational training, known as educational laypersons (Steiner, 2013), also play a role. To date, the professional discourse has hardly dealt with educational laypersons. In addition, there has been little research activity with regard to this specific status group. Research on the overall situation of educational laypersons, their integration into the school organization, and their educational orientations is still sorely lacking. The overarching aim of the LAKTAT research project is to analyze the relevance of lay educators at all-day schools, their organizational integration, and their pedagogical orientations, and to formulate the initial elements of an exploratory theory on the “layification of all-day schools.” Not only because of the shortage of skilled workers, the question of qualification in this area must be raised, reflected upon empirically, and further addressed in educational and professional policy discourses. The research project was carried out using a mixed-methods design, which combines both quantitative and qualitative research methods and has been described in detail by Danner et al. (2023). There are three sub-studies focusing on the levels of system (A), organization (B), and actors (C). The data was collected in three different local authorities in Lower Saxony (two districts, one large city). Substudy A focused on taking stock of the teaching staff at all-day schools. An online questionnaire was used to collect current and comprehensive data on the situation of teaching staff. The aim was, on the one hand, to create a systematic overview of professionalization in the all-day school sector. On the other hand, this preliminary survey also had a practical research function, in that the results of the latent profile analysis of the quantitative data provided a basis for the informed selection of qualitative case studies in sub-studies B and C. The qualitative transcribed interviews and network maps from sub-studies B and C are available from the FDZ Bildung at the DIPF – Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education, but cannot be linked to the quantitative data on an individual level. Access to the qualitative data is granted upon request to the FDZ Bildung (see also further information).
