Public survey data of the research study “Ready for change? Sustainable management of common natural resources”: Thematic survey of 2022 No. 1
Ongoing environmental collapse is putting increasing pressure on ecosystems and social communities, particularly, in the regions of Latvia.
Thus, survey of Gauja National Park residents has been conducted as part of case study to assess attitudes and assessment of governance of common-pool resources in tourism, on the impact assessment of tourism and civic participation in local life.
The survey achieved a sample size of 202 respondents - residents of GNP aged 18 and older. The anonymized data set was obtained through a random digit dialing (RDD) method,
involving the generation of random combinations of telephone numbers, and conducted through computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI)
Tensile Test of Epoxy Resin Reinforced with Oil Shale Ash
This dataset contains results of tensile (tension) testing performed on epoxy resin specimens reinforced with oil shale ash (OSA), which is an industrial by-product explored as a sustainable additive for improving concrete performance and reducing environmental impact. The tests were conducted to investigate the effect of OSA addition on the stress-strain behavior of the composite material. The data include measured strain and corresponding stress values (in Pa) for a particular material composition and sample number given below.
Epoxy Resin: 0% Oil Shale Ash (by weight) - Material 1 Samples 1-3
Epoxy Resin: 10% Oil Shale Ash (by weight) - Material 2 Samples 1-7
Epoxy Resin: 20% Oil Shale Ash (by weight) - Material 3 Samples 1-7
Epoxy Resin: 30% Oil Shale Ash (by weight) - Material 4 Samples 1-7
Epoxy Resin: 40% Oil Shale Ash (by weight) - Material 5 Samples 1-7
Epoxy Resin: 50% Oil Shale Ash (by weight) - Material 6 Samples 1-
Bee colony monitoring data in Vecauce, Latvia, summer 2021
The dataset is designed to monitor and analyze the health and activity of bee colonies. It focuses on the internal temperature and total weight of hives, which are strong predictors of colony strength, productivity, and survival. As well environmental temperature is recorded. The dataset consists of time-series measurements collected from bee colonies. Temperature readings capture thermal regulation inside the hive, which is critical for brood development and colony stability. Weight measurements reflect foraging activity, nectar intake, and overall hive biomass. The dataset covers repeated measurements over time across multiple colonies. It is suitable for applications in ecological research, beekeeping management, and environmental monitoring. Measurements are taken each 30 minutes over 3 month period in Summer 2021
Dataset on polymer and multilayer packaging of milk and dairy products in Latvian retail
The dataset provides data on the types of packaging for packaged milk and packaged dairy products, obtained by summarizing the situation at the largest retailers in Latvia. It includes analytical results on various types of packaging materials, packaging shapes, labels and caps, such as sealing. The dataset also contains information on the filling volumes of the analyzed samples
Public survey data of the research study “Ready for change? Sustainable management of common natural resources”: Thematic survey of 2021
Ongoing environmental collapse is putting increasing pressure on ecosystems and social communities, particularly, in the regions of Latvia.
Survey has been conducted to reveal attitudes, understanding, and practices of biodiversity, particularly in forest ecosystems.
The survey achieved a sample size of 410 respondents – Latvia internet users population aged 18 and older.
The anonymized dataset was obtained by conducting an internet survey (CAWI) within the SKDS internet survey panel.

Irradiation of the pressed ACB pellets before and after storage and thermal treatment experiments using X-rays and characterisation with EPR spectroscopy
Project: Influence of sample handling conditions on radiation-induced effects in biphasic tritium breeding material for future thermonuclear fusion reactors (LU-BA-PG-2024/1-0007). WP-3. Irradiation of the pressed ACB pellets before and after storage and thermal treatment experiments using X-rays and characterization with EPR spectroscopy. DMP link: https://zenodo.org/records/16947437. In this data set, the obtained results of electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy are summarized for the irradiated pressed ACB pellets before and after storage and thermal treatment experiments
Dataset from the project "Strengthening values-based family literacy and sexuality education in the Latvian education system"
This dataset was collected within the Recovery and resilience Facility project “Internal and external consolidation of the University of Latvia” (No.5.2.1.1.i.0/2/24/I/CFLA/007), grant “Strengthening values-based family literacy and sexuality education in the Latvian education system” No. LU-BA-PA-2024/1-0011. It contains the qualitative and quantitative data obtained in Spring 2025 from 1198 participants form Latvia who filled in the questionnaire “Virtuous sexuality education based on family values: understanding and needs”. The questionnaire includes the following sections: (1) family values; (2) approaches to sexuality education; (3) sexuality education at school, which, given the importance and breadth of the topic, was divided in four subsections: school topics, sexual relationships at school age, school-parent cooperation and teacher training; (4) needs in the education system; and (5) two final open questions, one about examples of good practice (and their justification) and one for allowing more general comments. These topics were preceded by a preliminary section for obtaining participants’ informed consent and demographic information (status: parent/teacher/future teacher; age group; location: region; kind of city – capital/big city/small city/countryside)
Higher education students entry characteristics and students’ dropout
The dataset was created for the purpose of predicting the dropout rate at university by identifying and detecting students at high risk of dropping out, based on their entry characteristics or the registration data of enrolled students.
The dataset was collected from LBTU study centre and includes 971
bachelor students information. Data set consists of 11 variables:
gender, student study direction, status, dropout reasons, study time
(in days and months), priority to study in the programme, finance
source and student grades
Life-cycle of an offshore wind farm in the legal framework. Interview Support Material (Research Protocol & Implementation Guidelines)
Research protocol and implementation guidelines in Latvian prepared to ensure transparency, repeatability and consistent work with data. The documents specify data collection methods (purposive and snowball sampling, semi-structured interviews, recording and transcription), ethical principles (informed consent, confidentiality, right to withdraw), anonymity, and a description of thematic analysis. Interview recordings and transcripts will not be shared; only the protocol and guidelines are openly available.

Survey dataset regarding adults’ professional development and the transfer of its results into practice in Latvia
The dataset contains information obtained in a study on adults’ professional development and the transfer of its results into practice in Latvia. It includes a description of the research methodology (the survey questionnaire with a codebook, sampling procedure description, weighting procedure description, and fieldwork description) and respondents’ answers reflecting adults’ motivation, behavioural patterns, habits, and opportunities in choosing professional competence development and applying it in practice, as well as factors hindering participation in professional development activities. The survey was conducted by TNS Latvia (Kantar) Ltd. on behalf of the University of Latvia within the State Research Programme “Education” project “Elaboration of evidence-based solutions for effective professional competence development of adults and assessment of the transfer of its results into practice in Latvia” (No. VPP-IZM-Izglītība-2023/4-0001). The aim of the research was to investigate adults’ motivation, behaviour, habits, and opportunities in selecting and transferring professional competence development into practice in order to assess the current situation in the field of adults’ professional development in Latvia. The survey involved employed and self-employed residents of Latvia aged 16 to 65. To ensure the representativeness of the data by age, gender, ethnicity, region, level of education, and economic sector, online survey (CAWI) and telephone interview (CATI) methods were used. In total, data from 1,000 respondents were collected, representing the adult labour force of Latvia. Fieldwork was conducted from 11 March to 14 April 2025, and the dataset is prepared for deposition in a repository for further scientific analysis and use in policy planning, research, and the improvement of education quality
