Systematic literature review: Bibliometrics on ethics practised by influencers
The importance of ethics practiced by influencers must be considered. Influencers significantly impact their audience and can shape public opinion, attitudes, and behaviors. Ethical behavior helps influencers establish and maintain trust with their audience. Influencers are transparent, honest, and authentic in their content, which fosters trust and credibility. Ethical influencers are transparent about their partnerships, collaborations, and sponsored content. Ethical influencers have the potential to inspire and empower their audience to make a difference. They can influence their audience to adopt positive behaviors and attitudes, promoting social norms conducive to a more ethical and compassionate society. Influencers prioritizing ethical behavior contribute to a healthier online community and set a positive example for others in their field. Based on the above, it is intended to systematically review the bibliometric literature on ethics practiced by influencers using the Scopus database with the analysis of 134 academic and/or scientific documents
Co-creation and citizen satisfaction with the quality of public services
Co-creation and customer involvement in service delivery have a significant impact on their satisfaction with the quality of the service provided. By feeling engaged in the production process, customers have the opportunity to influence the final outcome through their opinions and desires, while also feeling valued for their participation.
By involving customers in service delivery, organizations allow them to contribute their ideas, needs, and preferences, while also promoting the co-creation of value, where both, the service provider and the customer, work together to achieve a satisfactory outcome for both parties.
The aim of this study is to assess how the involvement and participation of citizens in the production process of services provided by public organizations affect their satisfaction with the organization and the quality of services provided by them.
The results indicated a significant and positive correlation across all analysed services. This means that the higher the involvement and participation of citizens with the organization, the higher their levels of satisfaction with the organization.
Methodology: The data obtained for this study were collected through an anonymous questionnaire to citizens/users, constructed according to the Likert scale (1934), self-administered and through individual interviews to citizens with special needs (e.g., elderly or visually impaired people). 1573 valid questionnaires were obtained from 16 different departments. For processing and analysis of the collected data, the SPSS software (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) was used
What Do We Know about Age Management Practices in Public and Private Institutions in Scandinavia? — A Public Health Perspective
In view of global population ageing and of policies that support longer working lives, especially in developed countries, it is important to achieve diversity in organisations through age management. Age management is the “management of human resources, [often] with an explicit focus on the requirements of an ageing workforce.” Through age management practices, organisations will be better able to change their human resource management policies and practices towards accommodating their ageing workforce. Little is known about age management practices in Scandinavian organisations, considering the region’s high prevalence of workers beyond the age of 50 across both private and public organisations. There are indications that Scandinavian business organisations are already practicing age management for all ages, including older workers. Their age management practices include the dimensions of job recruitment, training, lifelong learning, development, and promotion. However, there is a dearth of knowledge on how the health and well-being of workers is ensured in the context of age management practices in these organisations. Given the current and future importance of age management for all organisations globally, public health and other health science professionals need to collaborate with other disciplines, such as management and sustainability science, to better understand how they can contribute to an aged and healthier workforce as well as workplace health promotion. This paper aims to contribute to the discussion concerning age management in public and private institutions in Scandinavia through the public health lens
Protecting personal data in surveillance society: A designerly approach to privacy in service design
Service design emerged in the last decades as the design practice that creates the conditions of interactions in the context of services. Contemporary business models involve interactions between users and the service and between end-users, where personal information is exchanged and processed. Hence, in a world labelable as ‘surveillance society’ or ‘surveillance capitalism’, the privacy and confidentiality of users’ information, image, and identity face serious threats. Building upon the human-centered design paradigm, service design is called to take an ethical stance to design services that do not jeopardize users’ privacy. First, however, service design should build its own comprehensive designerly understanding of privacy, based on input from other disciplines and on research, through design ethnography, to meaningfully tackle privacy challenges. Then, service designers should develop a designerly, project-based approach to protect informational privacy. Through tests and the solution to speculative and thought problems, service designers develop a service design thinking for privacy to design privacy-oriented services. We argue that a culture of designerly understanding of privacy shared across the service design community leads to a better service design
Evaluating a reference model for SAV in urban areas
Previous work presented a reference model for shared autonomous vehicles in urban areas
supported by a systematic literature review and topic modeling. The proposed reference model was
then evaluated with two real-world demonstrations: the service provided by Waymo in Phoenix
and another offered by Baidu in Beijing. In this paper, we present another evaluation based on a
survey conducted with a group of potential stakeholders belonging to the mobility industry who
were asked about their agreement with each of the concepts in the reference model. The resulting
artifact is stronger and more reliable because it reflects the feedback of mobility experts
Telemedicine platforms and telemedicine systems in patient satisfaction
Telemedicine platforms and systems have gained significant popularity in recent years, offering a wide range of benefits to both healthcare providers and patients. Patient satisfaction plays a crucial role in assessing the success of telemedicine implementations. Telemedicine platforms provide patients with convenient access to healthcare services, allowing them to connect with healthcare providers from the comfort of their homes or workplaces. Telemedicine systems enable patients to consult with specialists who may not be geographically accessible. Telemedicine platforms and systems can significantly impact patient satisfaction by increasing accessibility, reducing wait times, improving communication, and enhancing the overall patient experience. Based on the above, it is intended to systematically review the bibliometric literature on telemedicine platforms and telemedicine systems in patient satisfaction using the Scopus database with the analysis of 94 academic and/or scientific documents
Beyond a lasting impression: Exploring the impact of brand image on revisit intention, unveiling place attachment as a mediating mechanism
A robust and positive brand image, intertwined with a strong sense of place attachment, creates a symbiotic cycle that fuels customer loyalty and ignites the desire for a return visit. By leveraging a quantitative research approach and employing rigorous statistical methods, three distinct studies were conducted. The first study, primarily exploratory, was aimed at scrutinizing the psychometric attributes of the data collection instrument (n = 304). The ensuing confirmatory study sought to validate the results extracted from the exploratory factor analysis (n = 305). The third study was designed to examine the mediating influence of place attachment in the relation between the city of Lisbon's brand image and the revisit intention (n = 355). The data analysis revealed that brand image directly propels the revisit intention; however, when place attachment is introduced into the model as a mediator, the impact of brand image on revisit intention diminishes. These findings imply that when revisit intentions are evaluated, the significance ascribed to place attachment supersedes that ascribed to brand image
Internet of things and distributed computing systems in business models
The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Distributed Computing Systems (DCS) is transforming business models across industries. IoT devices allow immediate monitoring of equipment and processes, mitigating lost time and enhancing efficiency. In this case, manufacturing companies use IoT sensors to monitor machinery, predict failures, and schedule maintenance. Also, automation via IoT reduces manual intervention, resulting in boosted productivity in smart factories and automated supply chains. IoT devices generate this vast amount of data, which businesses analyze to gain insights into customer behavior, operational inefficiencies, and market trends. In turn, Distributed Computing Systems process this data, providing actionable insights and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning for future trend predictions. While, IoT facilitates personalized products and services by collecting data on customer preferences and usage patterns, enhancing satisfaction and loyalty, IoT devices support new customer interactions, like wearable health devices, and enable subscription-based and pay-per-use models in transportation and utilities. Conversely, real-time monitoring enhances security, as distributed systems quickly respond to threats, ensuring operational safety. It also aids regulatory compliance by providing accurate operational data. In this way, this study, through a Bibliometric Literature Review (LRSB) of 91 screened pieces of literature, aims at ascertaining to what extent the aforementioned capacities, overall, enhance business models, in terms of efficiency and effectiveness. The study concludes that those systems altogether leverage businesses, promoting competitive edge, continuous innovation, and adaptability to market dynamics. In particular, overall, the integration of both IoT and Distributed Systems in business models augments its numerous advantages: it develops smart infrastructures e.g., smart grids; edge computing that allows data processing closer to the data source e.g., autonomous vehicles; predictive analytics, by helping businesses anticipate issues e.g., to foresee equipment failures; personalized services e.g., through e-commerce platforms of personalized recommendations to users; enhanced security, while reducing the risk of centralized attacks e.g., blockchain technology, in how IoT and Distributed Computing Systems altogether impact business models. Future research avenues are suggested
Changes in the fashion industry and consumer choices in the Portuguese context: Strategic directions
Background: This study aims to identify the changes in the fashion industry, during the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically, within the context of online purchase of fashion products, the use of sportswear, the pondering moments before the purchase, and the importance of sustainability. Furthermore, we also consider sustainability as a fashion strategic factor and its impact in the decision -making process. Purpose: The main purpose is to understand if the type of products and the way they are purchased by the retail consumer have changed, and to assess if the level of importance granted to sustainability is significant, in particular, by evaluating the way COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the online purchase of fashion products, the use of sportswear, the pondering moments before the purchase, and the importance of sustainability. Furthermore, we evaluate if the level of importance granted to sustainability, in the decision -making process, is still the same. Study design/methodology/approach: Quantitative analysis was applied, through an observation data collection technique, using a survey by questionnaire. The sample is non -probabilistic, with the accidental and snowball sampling modalities. Findings/conclusions: the companies must define new strategies to answer their consumers' real needs, because we verify that consumer behaviour changed. It was verified that there was a growth in the amount of online shopping of fashion products, the use of sportswear increased, the level of pondering before buying expanded, and the increasing importance of sustainability became evident. Limitations/future research: A non -probabilistic sample was used, which prevents the possibility of extrapolating general conclusions
