Osteonecrosis Of Femoral Head—Overview, Current Management And Treatment Strategies
Osteonecrosis (ON) is a severe disabling disease that often develops in young people of working age and is associated with the death of bone cells in a certain area of bone tissue, usually caused by a disruption of the local blood supply. ON most often develops in the head of the femur. Factors that can provoke the development of ON of the head of the femur include traumatic injury to the hip joint, surgical interventions on it, dysplasia of the hip joints, immune-inflammatory rheumatic diseases, various coagulopathies, hyperlipidemia, genetic abnormalities, chronic liver diseases, treatment with glucocorticoids (GC), radiation and polychemotherapy, alcohol abuse and a number of others. According to the literature, among the pathogenetic factors associated with COVID-19 and causing bone destruction, there are coagulopathy, endothelial dysfunction and endotheliitis, hyperproduction of cytokines, activation of the complement system, thrombotic microangiopathy, hypoxia and a number of other mechanisms, including the direct damaging effect of the virus on trabecular and cortical bone tissue. The article presents our own clinical observation describing a case of ON development after a new coronavirus infection. Thus, all individuals who have had COVID-19, regardless of the severity of the coronavirus infection and the use or lack of use of GC, should be considered vulnerable to the development of ON and should be included in the risk group for this complicatio

Study of the relationship between hemostasis and vascular endothelium in hypoxic lesions of the nervous system in newborns
The study of the statement of the hemostatic system and vascular endothelium was made in newborns with hypoxic lesions of the nervous system. Some indicators of hemostasis (PTT, APTT, TT and fibrinogen) were determined in cord blood, as well as endothelial dysfunction marker Endothelin-1. In newborns who underwent a chronic hypoxia, a statistically significant increase of the fibrinogen level and endothelin-1 were revealed in the umbilical cord blood. Indications of Tracheostomy in Patients Attending Baquba Teaching Hospital in Diyala, Iraq: A cross Sectional Study
Tracheostomy is a description of the surgical opening of the trachea, and represents the most frequently carried out surgical procedures in medical practice, especially in patients who require long-term mechanical ventilation for airway disorders. This study aimed to evaluate the main indications for tracheostomy. Approximately 100 patients underwent tracheostomy in different age groups, from 12 to 80 years, and both genders, who attended Baquba Teaching Hospital, (Iraq) in the period from August 2021 to December 2022, were included in this cross-sectional study. The results showed that the indications for tracheostomy were due to prolonged ventilation (70%) resulting from trauma in most cases (71.5%), followed by upper airway obstruction (25%) due to tumors (40%) or trauma (60%). As for the rest (5%), it was from other procedures such as maxillofacial injuries. Synthesis and Biological Evolution of Some Heterocyclic Derivatives
Heterocyclic compounds, owing to their diverse applications including pharmaceuticals and industrial use, hold a prominent position within organic chemistry. This study focused on the synthesis and characterization of Schiff base compounds as a subset of heterocyclic molecules. Compound [N1] was synthesized by condensing 3,4 Diamino benzoic acid and 4-Dimethyl amino benzaldehyde, followed by subsequent reactions to yield compounds [N2], [N3], [N4], and [N5]. Each compound was characterized through Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The FTIR spectra exhibited distinctive absorption bands signifying various functional groups within each compound. The spectra confirmed the presence of key bonds such as OH, C=O, C=N, C-H, and S-H within the compounds. This thorough characterization validated the successful synthesis of the Schiff base compounds and facilitated their structural analysis. The study underscores the importance of precise characterization in elucidating the structure and composition of novel compounds, contributing to the broader understanding of their potential applications
