In 2020, the WHO reported in Geneva that 17.3 million people died from CVDs, accounting for 30% of all deaths worldwide (WHO report, 2020). Of this number, 7.3 million people died from complications of coronary artery disease (CHD) (World Health Organization, 2021). The study of coronary artery disease, its complications and the effectiveness of treatment dictates the need to study risk factors. It is known that metabolic disorders such as excess body weight, dyslipidemia and impaired glucose metabolism accelerate atherogenesis. All these disorders are components of metabolic syndrome (MS). The issue of the effect of MS on the cardiovascular system has been studied in sufficient detail in the literature, however, the effect of the syndrome on the results of angioplasty procedures and long-term prognosis of coronary artery disease requires further study

Get PDFThis article summarizes the experience of surgical treatment of mucormycosis of the rhinocerebral type. The work is based on the results of complex treatment of 134 patients with mucoromycosis of the rhinocerebral type, who were treated in the department of ENT and maxillofacial surgery of the MMC of the Andijan region, as well as in the department of neurology of the Republican Center for Emergency Medicine of the Andijan branch from 2019 to 2022, aged from 45 to 65 years. Of these, 33 (24.6%) patients were male and 101 (75.3%) were female. The main affected areas were the nasal cavity, the maxillary sinus and the upper jaw of the facial skeleton (118 patients (88.1%)). In the long-term period from 3 months to 2 years, 52 (41.9%) patients showed good, 59 (47.6%) satisfactory and 13 (10.5%) unsatisfactory result

Get PDFPatients with AMI were investigated to determine the impact of a viable myocardial on LV remodeling characteristics. Study participants included 93 patients with an ST-segment elevation in acute coronary syndrome. Stress echocardiograms using dobutamine were performed on each subject.All patients had echocardiography and coronary angiography one and six months following coronary angioplasty. Patients with and without viable areas were split into two groups based on the outcomes of dobutamine stress echocardiography: group I had viable areas, while group II did not. Wall-motion score index, endsystolic volume index (ESVI), end-diastolic volume index (EDVI), and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) were the metrics used to compare the two groups.
